We ducked in about 45 minutes before closing on a Spring Friday evening and were lucky enough to to be seated. We were so glad. We'd have great Indian food in Seattle and San Francisco, but had not yet found a winner— until now! We loved every bit of this experience. We had a warm welcome. The place was buzzing... More

This is a wonderful lunch spot in downtown Portland. The chicken tikka masala is excellent. You don't need a reservation. There are very few people there.

I ate here twice on a recent visit to Portland - once for lunch with three other people and once for dinner with seven other people. We were all very pleased with the food and the service. Often I don't like Indian food because it can be sort of "gloppy" with everything mushed together somehow, but this was very good... More

I went here for lunch with three colleagues after reading reviews here and on YELP. I also read a local review that said it was one of the best India restaurants in downtown. The food was really good (and we tried different things from the concise lunch menu options) and I have to say the food was good and tasty.... More

We had a dinner for 20 people on a Saturday, and I ended the night both satisfied and happy! What more can one ask? The food was on-point (we are from NYC btw, very discerning with our food) --- the service was stellar (thanks Madison!!!!) and everyone in the place was very accommodating. Highly recommended for large parties. Just make... More

The food and ambience are both great. Located a bit away from the bustle of Downtown portland, but only a little distance away. Lovely Indian food. Especially the Naan, Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer and the Tandoori Chicken. The servers are really friendly too. It's a must try for Indian cuisine. You ask them to reduce or increase the spice/chilli content... More

This is a very good choice for Indian food. We walked from the Westin hotel a few blocks away and had a reservation here on a Friday night. Absolutely no complaints. Very nice decor and a comfortable setting- a peaceful, Zen experience as one person wrote. The app's were very large servings, as was the deliciously-prepared fresh Naan bread. Each... More

We had a delicious meal once again at East India Co. Casual yet elegant atmosphere (ask for a curtained booth), very reasonable prices, and our server (Dani) was tremendous.

I was hesitant to write this review, because I feel that even after years in downtown Portland, this is a total secret little gem. The food is absolutely outstanding, as is the service. The prices are competitive for downtown, as well. I went here for dinner on Christmas eve and loved it! The ambiance reminds me of a trendy Vegas... More

First off, let me get the negatives out of the way: one of the staff tried to sell us her own private nutrition business for a LONG time. (A quick, subtle statement would have sufficed -- which we could have pursued if interested.) Our main waiter was a bit rough around the edges. In all seriousness, he explained to us... More
