The space is beautiful, we had reservations and were 25 min early, and despite numerous tables being unoccupied, we had to wait 20 min. The host was quite dismissive and somewhat arrogant. Once we sat down, suddenly loud 80’s music blared from speakers above our...table. We requested it be turned down and we’re minimally accommodated. Sunday brunch has never been, nor will it ever be, an appropriate time for loud ‘80s music. The Jam, Soft Cell, The Fix, Psychedelic Furs, it was like being at a club in my 20’s. Food was good, atmosphere was made horrible. Won’t be going back for sure, too many other options to want to return.More

For ambience, Urban Farmer is barely half a step above McDonald's. The steak, potato tart, and mushrooms were "to die for" delicious but what happened to the salmon should be a criminal offense. The service was superb....until they apparently forgot about us as we waited...30 minutes for dessert. Don't bother to dress up...half the clientele was in T shirts. If you are under 40, you may not care about that. But we aren't and we will never go back there again. Oh, and by the way, 3% tip is added to the bill before you pay the tip.More

Nice atmosphere and good food. I’m not a fan of Al la carte steak houses. IMHO it’s insulting to pay $12+ for potatoes while being charged $50+ For a steak. While this does serve Al la carte, it was still a good meal I’ve been...to plenty of steak houses where they have different aged meat choices, but this is the first where feed type was a selection. We opted for the tasting option, which was three 6oz NY strips - grass fed, corn fed, grain finished. This was a great way to experience how feed impacts the meat Good service and they have implemented farm to table practices.More

The service was horrible from the minute we arrived. General manager was a jerk and judgmental. Such a poor experience we didn’t even stick around for the main course. Don’t waste an evening out on this place.

Wether you drive and park or train to Portland Square, there is a classy lunch spots at The Nines Hotel (8th floor) that is worth the trip. For brunch I have eggs bennie with Canadian. When the dish arrived, the server explained after I asked,...they don't serve Canadian bacon just ham. Well, why don't you say so on the menu? The place is very nice, spacious, artsy, and well furnished. Nothing pretentious. Might be difficult for some to easily find...be specific with your directions. I found the great value in the train stop right at Courthouse Square...and just walk across the street. Nothing easier. Portland is being trashed recently as dangerous...I had a visitor staying downtown who asked if it was safe. Gads. It has come to this. This town is far better than that fear. Have a little time...enjoy the Urban Farmer...remember the eight floor.More

Great staff and food for breakfast. The night staff knew their drinks and spirits. Top whiskey selections in a hotel I have seen in a long time

My husband and I had just checked in at The Nines and was pleased to find out this was in their atrium on the 8th floor. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The food was great. Everything is made fresh and you can tell. I...had the farmers burger. It had a tomato jam, aioli And white cheddar served in homemade English muffin. Do not let the English muffin throw you off. It’s not like anything you’ve ever had. I don’t think we can ever eat a regular one from now on. My husband had the clam chowder and kept saying how delicious it was. He ordered an English muffin as a side and oh my! The blackberry jam rocked! I’m glad this is in our hotel as I’m sure it’s not the last time we will dine here during our 3 day stay. Highly recommend. Keep in mind that the brunch/lunch menu is limited if you do t want breakfast foods though. That’s would be my only recommendation is to add a few other non breakfast options.More

When we are in Portland we Always eat either here or destination which are both in The Nines Hotel. We are big foodies so Having amazing food on our travels is very important. We had breakfast and dinner here The food and service are...amazing! We will start with breakfast. For breakfast we had the farmhouse omelette which is amazing. Their in-house English muffins our heavenly. They are toasted somehow with butter and you shouldn’t miss them. If you like sweets there banana pecan Pancakes are a little crispy on the edges and they Melt in your mouth and our heavenly. Best avocado toast ever and they have a Mamosa selection that you can do huckleberry. Don’t miss that Anissa Is the best server! Definitely request her. so far all the servers have been fabulous but we especially loved her. I wanted a Mamosa and she suggested the huckleberry. Oh my goodness my new favorite Mamosa! For dinner our waiter was able to make everything happen for us even though they are still slightly in quarantine menu. If you like meat their blue cheese truffle butter is amazing. And their steaks or beyond fabulous. We all had a drink called FARM no.3 We all had two of them they were so delicious. Check that out! Apparently it’s One of their most requested drinks. we loved Joseph for being so Accommodating and Efficient Thank you urban farmhouse for making yet another of our vacations so fabulous.More

We have missed Urban Farmer as it had become one of our favorite restaurants. It's a difficult time here in Portland, COVID, protests and now forest fires. Receiving the email announcing Urban Farmer's return (in limited fashion) was fabulous news. We had dinner the second...weekend it was open. Althought the menu was limited the food and the service were not. Nick was our server, he was attentive, gracious, personable (in true Urban Farmer fashion). The burger was perfect, the vibe cool, elegant but casual. Music to match. Can't wait for Urban Farmer to come back firing on all cylinders.More

I love farm to table, and we stayed at The Nines. It was an easy decision to eat here. The food is really good. The service is really good. I'm sure it feels more intimate during a dinner service, but that is lost in lobby's...daylight.More

Urban Farmer is one of the best steakhouses in Downtown portland located on the 8th floor of the ultra hip Nines Hotel - NOT on the roof as the main photo as shown here. Appealing decor. Nice ambiance for downtown business meetings or that special...occasion. All the steaks are fresh farm to table with a wide variety of wagyu steaks. Sides are best ordered and served family-style for the table, they bring out cornbread cooked in a can that was quite good. the creme Brule was unique and very tastyMore

No way. We found the service disinterested, and the place itself is very self absorbed, but it wasn't that slow.
