Not the best steakhouse in town. They pretend, but they don't make it. All they serve on your plate is a chunk of beef for your fifty plus dollars. Is it prime beef? I don't think so. It's cooked properly and nicely seasoned but that's the least one would expect. The pricey sides are only average. Try the legendary spot... More

For large groups or couples. Our waiter was amazing, the wine recommendation was spot on. All local. All of it. The honey comes from rooftop hives! Fabulous service. Fabulous food.

We had breakfast here twice. The kind of breakfast that lasts well into the afternoon, allowing for extended conversations and reading of the paper - the NYT.

We were excited to try this place because of the reviews online. It was okay. First off, its in the center of a hotel and when we went is was still light outside so the restaurant was extremely light. It got dark and then seemed to be a nicer atmosphere. The drinks were really good but that was everywhere in... More

Falina, We are sorry to hear that your overall experience with us was unimpressive. We try and bring you to the farm, not into an old tavern. I was killing time on my way to the airport and was looking for a nice place to eat when I passed this hotel. I hated to drag my suitcase and other items all the way up to the 8th floor for dinner but the concierge and other people standing at the front desk were so helpful and offered to... More

Huge claim, I know. We've been to the states 12 times and love eating breakfast out. Being new to Portland I googled 'best breakfast in Portland' and the Urban Farmer came up first. The restaurant is on the 8th floor of the Nines hotel on SW Morrison Street. It's an attractively and comfortably furnished restaurant with attentive and cheerful staff.... More

There were 6 in our party. This is my second time at this restaurant and service is excellent. We had drinks while we eaited for our reserved table as we arrived a little early. Everyone was very attentive to our needs as my sisterinlaw is in a wheelchair. They offered a great menu with drinks. Loved our waiter who was... More

We had a fantastic brunch at the urban farmer. It was a bit hard to find on the eighth floor of the hotel. The decor was really well done, it looks great with the atrium making the Urban farm feel spacious. The food was very good and of very high quality.. Eating at the Urban farmer was a really good... I would imagine lunch and dinner are also good, but we really enjoyed our breakfast. Absolutely delicious, locally sourced food. Good coffee. On the 8th floor of the Nines Hotel. A beautiful lobby as well.

Urban Farmer redefines the modern steakhouse with an emphasis on Northwest, sustainable ingredients and simple, straightforward preparations within a farmer chic environment. The menu honors national and local culinary traditions sourcing ingredients from some of the Northwest’s finest eco-friendly producers like Sudan Farms, Wooden Bridge, Nicky Farms, and Cattail Creek. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and happy hour, Urban Farmer remains a reliable and approachable destination amidst Portland’s bustling food scene.Designer David Ashen of D-ASH Design in New York created a unique restaurant space within the 8th floor atrium lobby of the Nines Hotel. The space makes use of organic, reclaimed and modern materials such as a 20-foot communal table sourced from an old-growth Douglas Fir. The spacious “Deck” captures the light-hearted feel of outdoor dining and is accented by a field of wheat grass in the center of the room. A video installation by one of Portland’s favorite experimental artists, Matt McCormick, rolls stunning images of the city’s rural and urban landscapes. The “Pantry” offers an intimate setting with walls of steel and reclaimed timber, as well as shelves stacked with vibrant jars of pickled fruits and vegetables. The Library , adjacent to Urban Farmer in the lobby, is the ideal venue for guests to host private parties, play a game of pool or enjoy a quiet cocktail.
