My friend and I had a beautiful small, late lunch with a wonderfully made drink. The service was quick and polite. It was a perfect break from shopping!

Very unusual food presentations. Good food. Unusual dining atmosphere but very entertaining in it's presentation. Nothing like you've seen before or since I'm sure.

The menu looked great but our dinner entrees were very expensive for what we were served. The potato side dish was unbelievably good but did not make up for the rest of the meal.

Ate breakfast here four times while staying at the Nines in Portland. My wife loved the smoked salmon and bagel, had it three of four days. We also enjoyed the fresh fruit side, the potato cake that came with eggs, plus waffle and pancakes.

We had a lovely dinner at Urban Farmer. We started with a selection of charcuterie and cheese that were really excellent. Our main were also very tasty; most of us opted for meat that was cooked perfectly. The mushrooms we ordered as a side were absolutely delicious

My wife and I split a beer and several dishes, an IPA, foraged mushrooms, and a steak, all wonderful. Very personable Portland native server gave us some ideas on sights we would not have seen otherwise. Service excellent, atmosphere intriguing.

Friday dinner for four. Parking is a nightmare! They ran out of flank steak and so two of us had the NY grass fed steak. At medium rare, both were tough as leather and hugely disappointing! Steak should never be like this.... If you are looking for a melt in the mouth steak experience, avoid this place

I really enjoyed the food at Urban Farmer. Wish I lived in Portland so I could eat there on a regular basis. The Burger was so good. The deviled eggs made me want to drive into oncoming traffic. Life doesn't get any better! I slept like a baby after our meal.

Urban Farmer redefines the modern steakhouse with an emphasis on Northwest, sustainable ingredients and simple, straightforward preparations within a farmer chic environment. The menu honors national and local culinary traditions sourcing ingredients from some of the Northwest’s finest eco-friendly producers like Sudan Farms, Wooden Bridge, Nicky Farms, and Cattail Creek. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and happy hour, Urban Farmer remains a reliable and approachable destination amidst Portland’s bustling food scene.Designer David Ashen of D-ASH Design in New York created a unique restaurant space within the 8th floor atrium lobby of the Nines Hotel. The space makes use of organic, reclaimed and modern materials such as a 20-foot communal table sourced from an old-growth Douglas Fir. The spacious “Deck” captures the light-hearted feel of outdoor dining and is accented by a field of wheat grass in the center of the room. A video installation by one of Portland’s favorite experimental artists, Matt McCormick, rolls stunning images of the city’s rural and urban landscapes. The “Pantry” offers an intimate setting with walls of steel and reclaimed timber, as well as shelves stacked with vibrant jars of pickled fruits and vegetables. The Library , adjacent to Urban Farmer in the lobby, is the ideal venue for guests to host private parties, play a game of pool or enjoy a quiet cocktail.
