Located in the atrium inside a hotel, this "trendy" restaurant is a joke! Want a $57 tough, grisly steak? Bingo! Go here. Want to order the world's smallest foie gras appetizer? Go for it here. Want to wait and wait and wait and wait for your food? Then this is the place for you! Sorry, but snooty servers and over... More

Great burger in a beautiful space. Good respite from the hustle of the city. My daughter's salad was so-so.

Food is great, great beverage selection. Breakfast was always delish though we had an instance one evening where our waiter seemed to neglect us quite a bit (big party). Otherwise, drinks were tasty (great selection of classic cocktails) and nice atmosphere.

Had lunch here at a business meeting... didn't care for the chopped chicken salad... wouldn't order it again. The atmosphere is very unique.

We visited for dinner and I ordered the grain-fed steak. It was VERY good. We also ordered a spinach and potato side dish - these are served family style. Everything tasted great. The server was very knowledgeable about the men and readily made recommendations.

We have been here a few times and really enjoy the service and the food. they never disappoint. French toast is great but out favorite is the bacon, mushroom, and crab omelette. Not supper expense but very nice atmosphere. Coming ow down can be tough but there is a parking garage right down the street,

The bar area at Urban Farmer is fun. I ordered a flatiron steak and a bloody mary. The steak was absolutely delicious! It was a nice sized steak that was cooked perfectly. The steak was very tender and very flavorful. The bloody mary was really good too!

Outstanding service. Lovely open atmosphere. Great decor and truly impressive service. We had a lovely lunch with the shrimp and grits being the highlight. The cheese plate was also incredibly impressive. My husband said the chicken sandwich was close to one of the best he has ever had. My prickly Pear Mamosa it was also quite the delight. We ended... We took the train to Portland for the weekend and stopped at the Urban Farmer for breakfast Sunday morning. We ordered eggs Benedict. The english muffins were fresh baked at the Urban Farmer and were large, fluffy and quite yummy. They also had a bloody mary bar where you choose your own garnish. A bit pricey but sometimes you just... More

Urban Farmer redefines the modern steakhouse with an emphasis on Northwest, sustainable ingredients and simple, straightforward preparations within a farmer chic environment. The menu honors national and local culinary traditions sourcing ingredients from some of the Northwest’s finest eco-friendly producers like Sudan Farms, Wooden Bridge, Nicky Farms, and Cattail Creek. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and happy hour, Urban Farmer remains a reliable and approachable destination amidst Portland’s bustling food scene.Designer David Ashen of D-ASH Design in New York created a unique restaurant space within the 8th floor atrium lobby of the Nines Hotel. The space makes use of organic, reclaimed and modern materials such as a 20-foot communal table sourced from an old-growth Douglas Fir. The spacious “Deck” captures the light-hearted feel of outdoor dining and is accented by a field of wheat grass in the center of the room. A video installation by one of Portland’s favorite experimental artists, Matt McCormick, rolls stunning images of the city’s rural and urban landscapes. The “Pantry” offers an intimate setting with walls of steel and reclaimed timber, as well as shelves stacked with vibrant jars of pickled fruits and vegetables. The Library , adjacent to Urban Farmer in the lobby, is the ideal venue for guests to host private parties, play a game of pool or enjoy a quiet cocktail.
