I have visited several, of the many available, breweries in Portland, but Deschutes is my favorite. They have a great selection of beers, ales, IPA's. Excellent quality. The food is as well up to par with a wide variety of small plates, beer bites, a delicious roasted pepper tomato soup, sandwiches, salads, etc. The service and the suggestions to satisfy your... Our server was a young man with an incredible knowledge of the various beers on offer. He was kind and generous with his time, and made several great recommendations. Sampling the various barley wines was both fascinating and memorable. The atmosphere was pure Portland, and fun to look at all the architectural details. Burger was middle of the road, and... More

Great food, great beer, great service! The husband, sister and I stopped by midweek for lunch and were seated immediately. We grabbed a few Classic beer samplers, a cheeseburger, and a couple elk burgers. The beer is always good and the food surprisingly so- our burgers were perfectly done with excellent flavor. Make sure to swing by Deschutes during off... More

Nice appetizers and the standard Deshutes beers - good selection but nothing to write home about. Their beer seemed weak on flavor. Good friendly service and a nice way to spend a rainy afternoon.

We gathered 10 people recently, a few of us just in from the airport. Lunch was excellent. The range of brews covered everybody's whims. It has a lively brew house feel. We would definitely visit again.

We stopped in here last night and had a great time. Food is excellent as always and I tried their new Black Butte Whiskey which was great. Highly recommended if you're a scotch/whiskey fan.

Deschutes has a variety of beer, ales, etc., most of exceptional quality. The atmosphere is Portland kitsch (the neon sign for the restrooms simply says, "Over Here!", and the main seating area is frames by what looks like whole carved timbers), and it's loud without being oppressive. Their food, while very well prepared and presented, has some pricing issues; some... More

Very busy place. Loads of people and plenty of staff on hand. My partner and I were literally looking for a place to weather the downpour outside and this place was perfect. We wanted to check out a few of the local IPA's and sat in the bar area. Ordered the charcuterie off the appetizer menu and it was just... More

I was taking some out-of-town visitors to lunch and started towards a spot I'd been to before in the Pearl, only to find it permanently closed. Fortunately, I remembered Deschutes and headed straight there. My out-of-town guests loved the place and thought it was a typical Portland restaurant. I pointed out the unique features and Pacific NW style of the... More

It's our favorite "go to" place after seeing a play at Portland Center Stage which is just across the street. And we have season tickets so we are here a LOT. There's always a crowd, great atmosphere..the decor is early lumberjack meets brew pub. And the staff are terrific....Portland cool and attentive. The menu is good and so is the... More

Description
Fusing a distinct Northwest and classic Scottish Pub feel, this Pearl District destination has become a convivial gathering spot of beer and food lovers since its 2008 opening. The brew pub's 18 taps feature Deschutes mainstays plus a selection of seasonal and experimental beers developed and brewed on site exclusively for the Portland pub by brewer Ben Kehs. Executive Chef Jill Ramseier heads the kitchen team, crafting classic pub food taken to the next level. Jill matches our brewer's passion, creating dishes from scratch with the best possible local ingredients.
