Not a fancy place but the food and service is always great. We actually like the unpretentious vibe and the pinball machines. Great wings & Steamers, the Seafood Boil is awesome.

Stopped in with 6 friends for breakfast. There was maybe only 1 option on the menu that didn't appeal to me (Spam didn't do it for me this morning). Two of our group knew the wait staff and chef quite well. Since it was a...quiet time, they all came over and introduced themselves to us. It was great getting to know abit about the place. The food was served. I wanted to take a bit of everyones dish, it all looked so good. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. It was HUGE! And some of the best I've had anywhere! Everyone else said the breakfast was fantastic as well. I don't get to Pacific City often, but this will definitely be one of the places we'll go!!!More

Everything on website and door of restaurant reads open till 9pm. Wife and I were good customers and spend plenty of money in there on keno and machines and have always enjoyed ourselves in the past... But now were are going to order at 8pm...and Richard says oh we close at 8pm bossman says close at 8 pm ??? And yet people are at tables eating and Rebecca at bar just got her food but for some reason my wife and I couldn't order or eat dinner!!! This sucks big time!!Very disappointed and so we will dine elsewhere in the future. Sorry Michael but this is horse manure and this pissed me off. Merry Christmas 😒😣More

The service was outstanding. We were looking for a sports bar so we could watch PAC 12 football. They are the place. There was a crowd there enjoying the atmosphere and food. The Claim Chowder much better than Pelican Brew Pub. And most importantly no...one was being "rushed" to eat and leave. One gets that rush rush feeling at the Pelican. Will always put the Oar House on the top on my list.More

We knew we didnt want to go to Pelican Brewing because it was a saturday night, they had a long wait and frankly I thought the menu was a little overpriced so looked on Trip Advisor and found the Oar House Bar and Grill. Minors...allowed until 9pm and I had my teen. She wanted alfredo and i just wanted clam chowder. I was a little skeptical outside but once inside was invited warmly in by busy bartender who showed us to a table. Place was packed. It didnt seem very big but the smells were great of fresh bbq so we wanted to give it a try, so glad we did. Portions were huge of fetticine alfredo (huge penne pasta) and clam chowder was loaded with clams, i think bacon and other goodies. Barely any potatoes, loved it. A sweet couple was celebrating their 79th anniversary and wanted all patrons to have a piece of their cake, it was delicious. Paid only $20 for alfredo, chowder, dessert with a decent tip ...cant beat that! Will definitely go back if ever in PC again! Oh and they have an Elvis pinball machine I'm dieing to play! :-)More

Eight of us had dinner here after a business retreat at The Pelican Brewery. We wanted to try something different than the brewery, asked around, and were directed to the Oar House. When we drove up, I was a bit skeptical, but the old place...was well kept inside. The waiter was great and took good care of us. Everyone enjoyed an assortment of drinks and appetizers. I had a cup of the clam chowder – which was excellent and is always gluten-free – followed by the ribeye steak, medium rare and, frankly, it was perfect; excellent meat and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend the Oar House and will go back in a future trip to the once sleepy fishing town of Pacific City. Plenty of gluten-free options.More

Definitely a casual, family restaurant. My Husband had chicken and waffles and I had a salad with chicken. We were there just prior to Labor Day weekend so everywhere was busy but we really didn’t have to wait to be seated here. Food was OK,...not great. Some of the wait staff looked like they were not enjoying themselves but the gentleman who was helping us was very nice and friendly.More

The Oar House looked like it was more of a place for locals than tourists but the service was very friendly and food was excellent. My wife and I both had different types of seafood salads which contained generous potions of shrimp and fish. This...isn't a fancy place and more of a sports bar atmosphere but for casual dining it was very acceptable. Prices were average for the area. Good selection of draft beer. We had dinner there and tried to stop by for lunch a few days later but they were closed.More
