Our regular hangout!

Love the atmosphere of this bar & their hours. They open early for breakfast 7 days a week and close late in the evening. Crab Benedict is a great breakfast with always about 5 choices for homemade soups, good salads, burgers & sandwiches. Of course the cocktails are always great and generous!

Best Ever Hashbrowns

We travel a lot. We always pick locally owned restaurants and try to stay away from the chains. While on a walk, we stopped for breakfast here. I have never had bet hashbrowns and the biscuits are amazing. Either be hungry or be prepared to share. The omelets are made with FIVE eggs. Yes, FIVE!! We had the Meat Lovers with bacon, ham, homemade sausage, and cheese. Yum. Goodbye regular breakfast restaurant. Hello, Ranee’s on Main.

We have made this our bi-weekly breakfast place with my parents. The portions are HUGE, I always bring home enough for the next day. if you go...you MUST get the english muffin! They are made by scratch...not out of a package.

NOT SAFE for Food ALLERGIES! they lie

NOT SAFE FOR FOOD ALLERGIES: A review I read said that this place served Gluten Free Chicken Fried Steak. I have Celiac Disease, so this would be quite the treat. Told the waiter that I have Celiac Disease explained, I'm allergic to Gluten. Asked him if the review was True as I doubted it to be. He assured me it was true, that the Chicken Fried steak and the gravy were Gluten Free. Even went on to tell me that the Owner, Ranee tried to have lots of options. The menu didn't Say GF so I brought that up as another doubt. He again assured me it was. I repeatedly asked him if he was certain, even when the food arrived. To which he chuckled and said, Yes, I'm certain it's safe. After eating what was too good to be GF, I asked if they would share the recipe for the breading on the steak or at least the ingredients. He then told me that it was purchased that way and in a box. So I asked him if he could get the ingredients from the box and the brand. When he came back he gave me the brand, but said their weren't ingredients on the box. I've worked in industrial kitchens, there is always ingredients on the box. By this point, I already new the truth as my body was beginning to react. Luckily my daughter had some medication that could counter some reactions with her. I went home where I rested the day away, was super sick by the next day. I sent Ranee an email regarding this mis-hap in hopes she would just talk to her employee's about taking these things more seriously. It's now been over a week later and she has yet to even reply back to apologize and let me know if she did anything about this. I've been to my Dr. as I've had some very serious side affects from this. This place served me more gluten in one sitting than I have had in 15 years. This wasn't just a trace contamination which should have been the only risk I could have been facing eating at a none GF facility. I was lied to, not once but multiple times. This could have been avoided if the server would have just checked with the cook before assuring me multiple times that it was safe for me. I wasn't vague about my allergy with him. I would at this point deem this place to not be safe at all for anyone with any food allergies! Stay away from this place if you have any food allergies.

Disparate treatment

I stopped in this evening for dinner. Sat at the bar, ordered, and went to use the restroom. When I returned the waitress had given my seat away. I was told I could sit at the next barstool, which was full of cones and other miscellaneous equipment. The waitress said she didn’t think it was an issue, so why didn’t they seat the new person at a different seat. Do you give away people’s table when they use the restroom?! Why didn’t they seat the new person at the inferior barstool? She said she didn’t think it was an issue, but I was sitting there and she gave away my seat without asking. It was an extremely rude thing to do without my permission. I think the second customer must have been a friend of the waitress.

It's Gone

Been going to RoM for years. but as it's grown, the neighborhood restaurant has turned into a slow food joint. Once great food servers, atmosphere is now a wait in line, food is now OK, servers can't keep up but nice as they can be. Incorrect orders, too busy for coffee refills, taking table orders from behind the bar. Was a casual place for great food and conversation and now seems to be wham bam TYM. Wait, Eat, and get out. Growth isn't always better unless planned for. Renee's a great gal but RoM needs adjustment . Good luck

It was a Sunday and I expected them to be busy but it’s true…the customer service has gone down hill. I usually have to go up to the bar to ask for condiments, or refills. And the food be coming out cold.

Stopped in Ranee's after being released from Jury Duty. We noticed it was open at 7am so stopped by for a bite to eat later that morning. Very good breakfast - bacon was nicely crisped & the service was really good. I would absolutely stop in again!

Great place for a bite to eat

Stopped into Ranee's after jury duty in Oregon City. It was one of the few places open early in the morning. Glad to have found this little place. Food was good but the service was excellent.

Very good pub grub with friendly and helpful staff. Enjoy a meal in historic downtown Oregon City! A table outside is available, but just one. It's a bit noisy outside but indoors is cozy. Great bar, fun people come here.

The reviews gave this place 4 stars so we tried it out. The food was microwaved prepared, obviously. It was definitely bar pub fare. This is a bar. Do not expect any refinements. There is gambling by the toilets in the back and if they could allow smoking they would. This is not a quaint establishment, it is a straight up bar. If you are expecting great food and good environment this is not the place for you.

This is a bar....

But don't let that stop you! We arrived at opening on a Sunday based on reviews and the fact that we were headed to the airport. Surprised to see it is truly a bar...however the food was fantastic, service good and it is certainly a place for regulars. Loved seeing the folks come in, be greeted by name by the staff and the teasing and joking that went on. We shared an omelette as the reviews said the portions were large...they were. One of the best omelette's we've ever had, great potatoes too. Would be a regular (and know everyone's name!) if we lived in the area.
