I stopped here for lunch on a Monday with some friends. The restaurant wasn't very busy. My 2 item combination lunch was $ 9.95 plus $2.25 for 4 corn tortillas (they only brought me 3). My bill should have been $12.20 but was $13.20. Good...chips, good salsa but in tiny bowls. My chile relleno/beans/rice all tasted pretty much the same (kind of like they all had brown gravy on them). My tamale was good but with a miniscule amount of chili sauce on it. Service was good but not particularly welcoming. Decor was inviting. Convenient off-street parking. I wouldn't bother going there again unless I was other people who wanted to go there. I see other good reviews of this restaurant, so maybe they were having a bad day.More

Stopped in for lunch. A lot of food for the reasonable price. Served hot with numerous selections. The fried ice cream was awesome.

On a rainy day my friend and I stopped in for lunch. From the start, the chips had no taste like they were from Walmart or Costco, bad! The salsa was ok, could have been better. The food, I had one of my favorites, Mexican...Pizza, I like it because they have a bit of almost everything on it, I had ground beef. All in all... it was quite good, I liked it but the homemade tortilla was thick and difficult to chew and sallow. I would go back and try something else.More

We have been to Tacho's for lunch and dinner several times before but my brother-in-law invited us to come while he (and many others) sang Karaoke on a Saturday night. I hadn't been in the bar part of the restaurant and, as you can imagine,...is quite a different, noisier atmosphere than the restaurant. There were a lot of people and the Karaoke starts at 9. I was kinda disappointed there wasn't a spotlight on the stage, but there was at least some other special lighting which added to the festive atmosphere. And there is a dance floor which many of us took advantage of. We ordered a nacho which was OK -- not as good as other places. The servers were very friendly and kept things moving. They had a good variety of songs -- though I'm really not into hip-hop (sorry, I'm old!) It seemed like a good place to hang around, and there are some regulars who keep coming back. Give it a try!More

Been going there for over 10 years. Never let down. Start with a Cadillac margarita, not a plain one, and then onto a taco salad. Great chips, drinks and food. The service is always fun and prompt. It's a bit of a drive for us...to get there, but never a dissipointment.More

We come to Portland for Christmas and stop in a t our favorite Mexican restaurant. But this year it was a big disappointment, the chips were burnt, the beans were runny, the ground beef, shredded beef and chicken all lacked flavor. And the lights flickered...allot. Probably go somewhere else next year.More

The food was great, customer service was excellent. The price was fairly reasonable and the margaritas were superb.

We recently met our daughter for dinner at Tachos. There are some reviews on the internet that led me to believe this might be more of a bar that serves food, In fact, this is a wonderful family restaurant, colorfully decorated and presented with enthusiasm....In this respect, Mexico should be so good! A pair of guitar carrying singers worked the room and that was also delightful. The room really felt festive, but it was not so noisy that we were unable to communicate. The waiter appeared promptly, but following our order, the food was a little slow in coming. More curious, the meals were not exactly as we expected. For example, we have eaten arroz con pollo many times and this just wasn't quite right. Everything was edible, though, so it could have been worse. All in all , this was a great place to meet our family for an evening meal.More

This is not your typical fast-food Mexican place. It has class! The menu is varied but not so extensive as to be overwhelming. And the food is very good and plentiful. The wait staff are friendly, the place is clean and well decorated. It's good...for the whole family.More
