We visited Subterra after a long day of wine tasting. The food was delicious! They give you a lot...probably too much so go hungry! Soup and salad with every meal. The meal portions are ample! Delicious all around. A fantastic wine selection, especially local. Definitely a must try while in the area. We would certainly go back!

While, as the name suggests, one is eating in a basement, attempts have been made to make the area seem comfortable and stylish, albeit a bit noisy when filled up. Better yet, however, is the menu which has a number of interesting inclusions, some of which are "regulars" and others are periodically introduced. I've eaten here many times, and haven't... More

Loved this place - difficult to find (due to being "under ground" and not much signage) - but well worth the search! They have both a small plates menu and a menu with entrees (that come with a small salad and starch). I opted for 2 small plates and a small salad (plus a glass of the featured wine). My... More

Salad was good as was the black bean soup. But good as in an average lunch place, not what we expected at dinner. The lamb shank was good but the plate was hotter than the meat.

We came here for dinner during our stay in Newberg and enjoyed a quiet dinner. The staff was very helpful and actually gave us a number of recommendations for our wine tasting the next day.

You would not guess by the outside, that Subterra is full of tasty treats in a well decorated, classy, bohemian atmosphere downstairs! We enjoyed a fabulous lunch of baked brie, salad, and creme brulee accompanied by Coeur de Terre Pinot Noir--all excellent!

We ate here while visiting the Allison Inn. The food was great and dinner included soup and salad. Service was wonderful and everyone was very friendly. Would dine here again!

This place was wonderful. My wife and I shared three of the small plates and they were all very good. Such a nice place to find after a long day of wine tasting. I highly recommend a reservation. We got lucky and found two seats at the bar (no tables available).

Had the pleasure of my daughter's company today at this cute subterranean eatery. The lunch menu was very varied and offered something for everyone and a nice wine selection to offer as well. Not crowded at all, in fact there was only one other table with customers. The daily quiche offering was scrumptious and the accompanying salad was a perfect... More

We so enjoyed our dinner with a wonderful valley pinot after a fun day of tasting the valley's best wines. We had the scallops, halibut wrapped in potatoes, lamb shank, and the pork roast. Our homemade soups were excellent, and the salads were lightly dressed. Entrees were cooked to perfection! Service was excellent, attentive but not overbearing. The ambiance of the... More
