First night in Mitchell we tried this place out. The wife had the chili and corn bread. The chili was great, the corn bread looked greener than it should be,( I don't know what recipe they used) but the wife really liked it. I had chicken and waffles for the first time. Loved it. Also try the lemonade, it was... More

We had lunch here. Prices were reasonable and the food was very good with top quality lettuce for my salad and very tasty chicken. Very nice waitress/cook. It was a one person shop the day we visited and we were the only customers.

Fresh fruit bowl was shockingly fresh fruit! I did not expect that based on their remote location. The rest of the food was amazing of course but the cornbread to die for. YUM!

Owner operated - we came in after close and the owner welcomed us. She called hotel since we had no cell service. She chatted with us and made awesome corn bread with my chilli. Very good food, reasonable prices and just awesome service.... Keep up the good work.

Few restaurant choices in Mitchell. Had dinner here one night - excellent hamburger. Within walking distance of the Oregon Hotel.

We arrived in town a little at 6 pm. Cafe closes at 7pm (it's a very small town). We walked in and were warmly greeted and happily served. The Barnyard Burger (chicken sandwich) and Bacon Cheeseburgers were incredible. My husband and I shared a chocolate shake. They even brought out what wouldn't fit in the glass. Really nice ladies running... More

the town is small and the cafe very unassuming - but the food was great, the staff very friendly and the PIE was super delicious! A great place to stop after a day of hiking at the Painted Hills in the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument

The Sidewalk Cafe is a throw back in time, small town with hard working men and women. Stop in and say hello. Your stomach will thank you

Had a great time eating breakfast at the counter chatting with the cook and waitress. Can't decide what was better, the food or the company. The french toast is fantastic and the eggs are super fresh from a local farmer.
