Our B&B hostess put Bistro Maison at the top of her list. She was right. The atmosphere is a country house. Everyone in the place is smiling. The menu is very french; coq au vin, steak poivre, escargo, truffles, even fairly extensive french wines in...addition to the amazing local wine list. I had steak poivre. Perfectly cooked ribeye served HOT with a savory black pepper sauce. A side of garlicy spinach made it even more perfect. My wife had moules. These were OUTSTANDING! A mountain of steaming hot plump mussels in one of the richest broths I have ever tasted for this dish. Be warned, portions are very large. Any dish, salad or main, can easily satisfy two people. Five stars is not enough. Enjoy!More

Rented out the place for a bridal shower. It was fabulous! Deborah was super attentive and the food was excellent! They gave us a great selection of salads and a veggie tart. The hangar steak was just ok, but the salmon and the tart were...delicious. The soup starter was a meal in itself. Can’t wait to come back!More

The escargot was the best I've had, and the French Onion soup delicious. My friend had the caprese salad with jumbo shrimp that was unexpectedly good. We sat on the patio for our 7 p.m. reservation, and it was lovely, even at 97°F. The only...major drawback was we were upcharged on almost everything. We asked one of our 4 servers to change the bill to reflect the correct prices and we were still upcharged, although they fixed 3 of the 4 overcharges. We believe that the errors were too consistent to be unintentional. Tables were too close together and didn't meet the 6 foot requirement for covid-19. We had planned to go back for dinner the next night, but after this experience decided against it. Not sure what is going on with the upcharging, but it is alarming.More

Please, please you guys get it together. We drove 90 minutes to get to this adorable restaurant but won't be back. I could overlook no soap in women's bathroom and our plastic tablecloth but not the mediocre food and very disorganized service. Three times we...were asked if a dish was ours, including an appetizer after we've finished eating. I can honestly say I've had a better turkey dinner at Shari's restaurant and my husband's duck was way overcooked. The raw vegetables sitting on the table already when we sat down had been there a long time and dried out. You'd think the wine served in wine country would at least be something to write home about but no. And where do you find vanilla ice cream with no flavor? All this for $200 with 15% tip. We normally tip 20% but never got wine until dinner was served. Also, please please stop with the loud 60's Motown music (in a French restaurant on Thanksgiving?) Never again.More

We went to bistro maison for a birthday dinner, the main dishes were good, duck confit and pork chop were tasty and tender but nothing special(we have had better at several restaurants). We had ordered the white truffle fondue which i was excited about, truffle...anything is good, the flavor was good but the fondue was barely warm and the accompanying ham and potatoes were fresh from the fridge cold, even if the fondue had been hot, it wouldn’t have offset the coldness of the ham and potatoes . When we told the server we weren’t fond of the dish and it was all too cold to be acceptable we were asked if we had ever had fondue before, yes but you serve the accompaniments room temp so the cheese can warm it and the fondue doesn’t become a cold glob. They offered to warm it more but, the experience was kind of ruined. All of the servers and staff were super friendly and helpful except one who was a bit snotty(refer back to the “have you eve had fondue before?” But with a sneer. I could have reflected her service in the tip, but apparently everyone just helps as needed and since everyone else was nice and helpful i felt a good tip was called forMore

This is an excellent choice for dinner. Hand prepared meals with excellent presentation and taste. We had the made-from-scratch gluten free squash soup, a spectacular salad and a melt in your mouth salmon dinner with a special tarragon and butter sauce. One of the best...meals we’ve had in many years. My wife and I split this meal and were both very full and content!More

Wonderful dining experience. Staff was friendly and attentive. Meals were authentic French cuisine. We started with a fondue appetizer for the table it was fun to dip apples potatoes and ham in the fondue. Main course was a pork chop cooked to perfectly. A wonderful...dining experience. One friend ordered a glass of wine the waitress brought over two bottles so he could pick which one he liked.More

Food was excellent and very authentically French. However, the staff was a shocking collective of the least-friendly Oregonians we met during our entire week-long trip....

Some reviews had left us wondering about service and food quality. We couldn't have been more pleased with every aspect - ambience, service, food quality and variety.
