The restaurant has good ambience, we were seated promptly, the wait staff were friendly and attentive at this point. I ordered a bottle of pinot noir after discussion with the server a few minutes later the owner came over to our table in a bit of...a rush. She said based on our discussion with our server she recommended a different bottle I accepted her advice. On first taste and smell seemed OK. With the second pour probably after breathing, it had a musty woody odor, drinkable but not great on reflection she was probably pushing that particular wine to get rid of it. For an appetizer we ordered their ROMAGE ET CHARCUTERIE. Which was OK. I ordered CONFIT DE CANARD with Orange Cognac Reduction. It had a breast portion and a leg portion unusual to see a confit Duck breast because it has no fat in it and goes dry during the confit process. The breast was dry and inedible the leg portion was a little dry but ok. The sauce reduction was nothing more than an overly sweet syrup lacking flavor which ruined the dish. I write this review because of the dish my wife chose, “Hanger Steak, shallot pinot noir reduction”. It was served in a pasta type dish full to the inner rim with a brown gravy no sign of any hanger steak, which is typically sautéed and sliced exposed on a plate. She fished around and there were three pieces of meat in there, she was struggling to eat a piece of it and said it was tough and gristly, I looked at what they had served her, it was FLANK or SKIRT meat in a bowl of onion gravy….discussing! The sever came over and I told her this was not Hanger Steak, her reply was “well that was what the Chef said it was”. She removed our plates offered us coffee and that was that,I was expecting some feedback but nothing. Being my Birthday and kind of in shock about the whole experience I paid the bill and we left I was not in the right frame of mind for confrontation, on reflection I should have made more of it as it was definitely the worst dining experience ever.More

Love this place; food was very good. We had shrimp and scallops with risotto. The scallops were cooked to perfection; shrimp was a little over done but not much. The restaurant can be noisy. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

We were out of town guest staying close by and wanted food to go, ( restaurants was busy on this Saturday Valentine’s weekend). My excellent soup was hot, my salad was fresh and crisp, with salad dressing In a separate container not to wilt the...nice salad with pistachios, ( good touch ) added along with nice size chunks of cheese and large bites of bacon and fresh slices of fruit. My husband loved his salad with his large side of fresh water salmon. We will get reservations her next time we come back to McMinnville!More

We spent NYE at Bistro Maison and wow! We had the best food and truly the best time! They made sure we were entertained, we played bingo, unwrapped presents, danced, the entire restaurant felt like a big family. The food was absolutely incredible, and the...wine pairings were perfect. We really felt at home, and we cannot wait to go back.More

The food here is excellent. The venue is an old house, so not elegant, but comfy. Every time we go to McMinnville, we dine here. We have brought many friends here too. Absolutely everyone loves their delicious dinners...Chicken Coq Au Vin, Beef Bourguignon, Cassoulet, fish,...steaks. They have an extensive menu.More

Well, we had 7:30 PM reservations. Went there with high expectations, but all four of us had a b bad experience. My Coq au vin, tasted good, but the chicken was cold somehow. My wife's burger was burnt and the cheese came off the burger...like a hard shingle. Our friends shared a Duck Confit that really wasn't good at all. It took forever to get our meals and forever to settle up afterwards. Think twice before choosing here.More

A really nice menu, with lots of choices. My husband and I both thought the wines by the glass were quite good. Service was friendly and prompt. Overall, a very nice experience

Terrible and not representative of the wonderful service, food and people of McMinnville! Such a disappointment. Awful greeting, which should have turned us around and left. Junior servers were lovely. We wish the crazy, frazzled, unpleasant whirlwind of a negative woman who seemed to feel...the need to crash into every table and attempt to take their orders would let the pleasant staff handle people and their orders. We ordered the "special" appetizer which never came. We are a group of friends who have traveled the world, and we are sad to say, but this was the worst dining experience we have ever had. Please take your time and money in lovely McMinnville to other establishments with great people and great service. You deserve much better.More

Definitely, make reservations. We were there on a Thursday night in August and the restaurant appeared full. It is located in an old house near the east end of the old downtown. Plenty of street parking though the main street in Mc Minnville is partially...closed to traffic; but it was walking distance from our B & B. We were seated immediately, told the specials and given the wine list. Indoor table near the doors to the outside patio which was not in use the night we were there. Good variety of menu items which should offer something for all tastes. Wine list was good as well. Service was excellent. Before ordering dessert we were asked if we were there for a special occasion; I originally said no as we really were not. The server suggested we might make it a special occasion so we said we were celebrating a belated wedding anniversary' which was actually true since we had not gone out on our actual anniversary due to covid precautions.. Dessert arrived with a sparkler and greetings of happy anniversary from neighboring tables and staff. A very nice touch! The food was superb and the presenation even more impressive.More

We enjoyed a very lovely meal on the back patio one recent evening. As vegetarians we were a bit worried about finding adequate choices in a French inspired restaurant - but we didn't need to worry at all. The cocktails, the appetizers, the main entrees,...and the dessert were all very good - and the service very attentive! Bistro Maison is definitely recommended, even if you are a vegetarian.More

The food here was absolutely terrific - everyone enjoyed their dinner (duck, steak, fondue. The appetizers - charcuturie plate and tapenade) were far larger than expected - more than really needed for 5 people to share.

Traditional French style menu wonderfully prepared and served. The Bistro Maison team was very friendly and provided timely service on a very busy night. The food was very good, served hot. The location is an old residence and set up for both indoor and outdoor...dining. Also has a large wine list with a global flavor.More

Truly enjoyed Bistro Maison -- from the truffle tapenade to the butterhead lettuce salad and the fresh Chinook salmon. Delicious, creative, loved it. The service, though, was a bit uneven and scattered for a high end restaurant -- not necessarily slow (and we were not...in a hurry) but far from spot on,More

We came here a little after closing time on a Tuesday, but it looked so charming that I asked if we could be seated for dessert. We were graciously offered a table on the porch, the perfect place to see the night lights coming on...over third street. The waitress was very kind, offering a full description of the desserts available. We enjoyed the berry pavlova and the flourless chocolate cake. Both were superb, but the pavlova was the show stopper; perfect with the decaf coffee that was served and frequently refreshed. We have been here before for company Christmas dinners and they have also been AMAZING. This was our first time on our own and it made a very special anniversary evening treat.More
