We ate here last week because it was highly rated by several publications, and it did not disappoint. Yes, the service is a bit slow, but I attribute that to general staffing shortages. The wait staff was very busy on a Saturday night. We are...from Texas, so know when we have good tacos, and these were delicious. I can't speak for all of the menu items, but the crispy pork belly and shrimp tacos were very good. The margarita is also not to be missed! We passed on dessert and found some delicious ice cream about two blocks away. The price is a bit higher than we are used to seeing for tacos anyway, but still worth a visit.More

Food is tasty, not expensive. Service is really slow, restaurant is 1/3 full and yet everything is at a snail’s pace, go figure?

Great food, even better service. The best item on the menu is the Apres. We have never enjoyed this delicious appetizer. We gave it a try based on the server's recommendation and the excellent reviews online. It was killer! Every bite was delicious. Our server,...was outstanding. We ordered the Empanadas as our entree. They were good but not outstanding. My margarita was very good. We would return here for the Apres. The ambience is good but not romantic at all. Very casual. A little noisy.More

We had a wonderful dinner at Pura Vida. All of the tables were full but the service was wonderful anyway. I'd recommend the guava margarita and the mole sauce and my husband loved the mojitos. Excellent dinner spot!

I have not had good, authentic tacos in a while, and this place did not disappoint. Before to get the chips and salsa. It's very unusual & incredibly tasty!

Although casual, this is a restaurant that knows how to serve delicious food in a warm and professional manner. We split dishes and the staff could not have been friendlier to our requests. They divided our salad even without being asked. No extra charge for...sharing the entree or any dishes. Nice sized menu with fresh ingredients done very well!More

We chose Pura Vida based upon a recommendation from our hotel and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed the margaritas as well as the way too much food that we ordered. As it was hard to make a decision, we just knowingly ordered a lot....Had the Totopoes, Empanadas Puerco, Pork Belly Tacos, Barbacoa Tacos and a Chicken Chile Relleno. We grazed on all and the Pork Belly Tacos were the winner. Another winner was our server, Genaro, who was both entertaining and knowledgeable. Pura Vida deserves a visit and we plan to return when we are again in McMinnville next year.More

Excellent service and food and drinks were very good. It was obvious that it is a local favorite since the line was long. Glad we chose the restaurant.

We made a reservation for dinner and ate here our first night in town. The street tacos and fried avocado were good as was the service and drinks.

Was in McMinnville for one day and saw this restaurant downtown. Checked it out on social media and went for the Cuban sandwich. It was awesome! The Cuban bread and unique pork topped with the traditional pickle and ham was served freshly made and still...warm, along with the perfect amount of perfectly roasted potatoes. Definitely going back.More

Accommodated 8 of us with two tables side by side for Covid protocols. Meals and flavors were out of this world. We had two vegetarians in the group and they lived as well. Loved plates included the ribs and empanadas as appetizers. For main course...pork belly tacos and Chile rellenos were loved. We also enjoyed spicy margaritas with turmeric. Don’t judge a book by its cover. The food is amazing.More

The fare is not your typical Mexican/Spanish cuisine. Service was very slow. Around the table there were various choices made and in every case there was food left on plates. My empanadas were tasty but very dry. Not sure if the other ratings posted were...for the uniqueness of the menu but based on the food I was served it barely gets 3 stars.More

I waited about 30 min to get my food. It was dry. I didn’t think it was worth the price. Lots of people were waiting a long time to eat. Nobody was getting waited on.

Although we had a reservation, we still waited about 20-30 minutes for our table, and then another 10 minutes before a server came to our table to take our drink order. The drinks were indeed very nice and the small plates were too (totopoes and...platanos). My chile relleno however, was a real miss. It was nothing like an authentic chile relleno, stuffed with cheese and fried. This one was a mound of rice and bean mix with a chile sliced open and covering it. The sauce was bland with chunks of chopped vegetables, and the only cotija was a few sprinkles on top. I actually had to ask our server if he brought me the correct meal. Although my husband enjoyed his meal mine was sadly, quite bland and boring.More

We were a little hesitant about eating here because, quite frankly, from the street it doesn’t look special. Once inside though, we found an attractive interior with well-spaced tables and Covid screens. Our server was very attentive and explained a few of the dishes on...the menu that we weren’t familiar with. Everything we ordered was delicious and looked great too. Definitely a place to return to.More
