This is a great place to eat! We came here with kids and had two glasses of water spilt. One was our fault one was the staffs. The staff was great and very helpful with the spills and GREAT with the kids. They even got to know our names. But the best part was the pawns! The food was the... More

The place is fine, has been remodeled to give it a more upscale diner feel, but the food was just okay. The Halibut and Salmon fish and chips were both overcooked to the point of being dry and rubbery, but the beer was good and the staff were friendly. Overall I suppose it was fine, but not for the price... More

While attending the Wedding of our nephew in Manzanita, OR, we found The Big Wave Cafe for a Saturday Brunch. Busy, yet not a long wait. Our group ordered a cheese omelette, a veggie omelette, and eggs Benedict. The side order of bacon was nicely done. Not greasy and not fatty. Crisp and tasty. The omelettes were generous portions. Not... More

I came back to the Big Wave after writing a review that noted some flaws I'd perceived. They were very good, on their way to great, I'd said. After my last meal there, I'm convinced that they're devoted to remedying any shortcoming, that their only desire is to please their customers and honor the locally grown and caught food they... Didn't have to wait long for a table like sometimes. The place was busy and there is usually a wait. Service is friendly but slow. Great chowder, fresh salad, Great halibut fish and chips with panko crispy coating. The fries aren't my favorite kind, these fries have a crunchy coating added to them like at the fair, but they aren't... More

Pretty flower boxes outside. Worn booths inside, cracked seats. Chip on the pour spout of small milk pitcher.Good music. Trying to be upscale, nice wooden floors, modern decor rather than beachy or down home. We shared a stuffed french toast - it was excellent. Wonderful marionberry syrup.

Thank you for visiting the Big Wave Café and taking time to provide some feedback. I have some good news for you, we had all of our booths reupholstered this past week and they look amazing. This is the second time we have done this in three years and due to restaurant volume we will go to wooden booths the... More

My wife and I ate dinner here 8/16. No reservations taken but the wait wasn't bad. 2 seats opened up at the bar. Prompt and pleasant service. Each of our seafood dishes came with house salad beforehand and her halibut was sourced less than 30 miles away. My prawns were 5 large and generously proportioned coated in a light coconut... More

Nice food, pleasant decor and very pleasant staff (especially with meal substitutions, crying children, etc.). Would definitely recommend for a casual meal.

I ended my rainy weekend last week in Manzanita. before returning to PDX. While I was unable to enjoy the beach or even the shopping, I fortunately chose Big Wave for lunch. Had the best meal of the trip. The salad and dressing were superb. The halibut as fresh and good as it comes.
