We enjoyed a festive meal here even when we were not celebrating anything. Fresh flavors and premium ingredients were skillfully combined by the chef. Our server Andrew was attentive and efficient. The beautiful old house and gardens are well-kept . We enjoyed the ambiance as well as the food.

Great service, amazing food and perfect outdoor dining. We had a gorgeous evening dining outside, great atmosphere. Trees surrounding, globe lights, fire. The food was incredible, the ahi tuna appetizer was delicious, the filet mignon was melt in your mouth! Overall one of the best meals I’ve had!

First, the service was very good.
We expected more in our food. I had their ragu special. It was tasty and remained hot through the meal. The pork scallopini was sliced too thick. Portion were generous (a few too many mashed potatoes).
For desert, crème brûlée was smooth with a very good custard.
The old house (1890’s) adds character. House and restaurant owned and operated by owner. Daughter provided interesting historic invite.
Drive up up to the garden is a bit steep and narrow (do not attempt after dark having consumed too wine).
The garden is a charming place to eat.

The good : service was friendly and attentive.
The bad: the cuisine, a tuna filet slathered in a wasabi balsamic mixture, cold ancient mashed potatoes, vegetables heavily seasoned with salt
The ugly: dining outside, a cool night - space heaters not working, a barking dog (a service animal?) and bugs.
All restaurants have off nights, possible this was one for Stonehenge Gardens.

Thanks. Sorry about the heaters. Full every Friday. We do spray for bugs ($750 a year) and that dog was horrible.

The "Owner" is an absolute joke. He advised his staff to hold off on putting tents up until it started pouring rain on us. Then, in the middle of a THUNDERSTORM, they are trying to tell us to cover under a tree, which is the exact opposite of what you should do. He then proceeds to blame us for his inability to plan around rain.
To top it all off, he starts yelling at the bride to be at her own rehearsal dinner when confronted about the total unprofessional behavior of his staff and himself. 75% of your space is outside, and you have no contingency plan at all for when it rains in Oregon?
This place is one of those "small town" joke restaurants that survives simply because there is nothing better in the area. It's diner quality food parading around as top teir dining. Do yourself a favor and go to McDonald's, and you'll have a better time.

Came here for my wife's 30th birthday dinner. We were VERY impressed with every aspect of this place... Besides the weather. Staff was ambitious and professional. I spilledy drink, and the promptly refilled it for me for free, speaking of which, highly recommend the bourbon cherry drink. Wife had steak Diane, it was excellent. I had the pork porterhouse, delicious. The carrot spears and green beans were just right. The atmosphere was very unique, and pleasant. We will be back for sure. Certainly a 5 star establishment.

This place is consistently delivering on exceptional service and meals every time we have been there. The happy hour menu is great but the crusted lamb is incredible. Don’t miss out on the bread pudding for desert! Such a beautiful home and patio also.

Don’t pay attention to review critical of food/sauces etc. Old fashioned menu? No way. Location eating outside was perfection. I agree with others - listen to specials. Spinach salad with watermelon was wonderful. I had ravioli that was delicious and my husband the spaghetti with chicken and bacon. That was enough for 2 big meals. Bread pudding was absolutely the best I’ve ever had - and we’ve had it in many places. Our server was so gracious and helpful. He did everything perfectly for us.

I’m a life long local. After decades Stonehenge Gardens is still our favorite. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, fantastic food. We would recommend the buffalo prawns! Your loss if you don’t try this hidden gem.

Steak Dianne was good sized filet with a canned tasting mushroom sauce, not a Dianne sauce! Potatoes were excellent. Spinach salad had almost burned bacon.
Crab Cakes were excellent.
Wife had Ravioli with questionable sauce.
Guest had Seafood pasta with bland fish and sauce that they took off the bill.
Service was mediocre.
Other guest ate Crab Cakes and his spinach salad had properly cooked bacon.

This restaurant was founded by a friend, so I have and inclination to like it. Our visit this evening was poor, especially in food. Disappointed in how things decline in my home town as it becomes flooded by tourists.

Excellent service and delicious specials. Had rack of lamb cooked perfectly. The flaming bread pudding topped the meal off with a complimentary glass of port.

This charming old country inn setting restaurant is located a short distance outside of the Hood River downtown area. Very secluded, with lots of shade and the garden/patio area is quite massive. The interior is a bit "old world charm", dimly lit with lots of quirky decorations. Nice tablecloth with white and crisp linen top.
The wait staff is top notch. Sean was spot on efficient and friendly. We ordered the spicy prawns for appetizer, they were delicious. Also got the mushroom raviolis and pork scaloppini. Both came with current season vegetables (excellent asparagus). The pork came with rice pilaf that had a hint of curry, it was delicious.
The only "area for improvement" comment: would prefer the pork to be sliced thinner, instead of 2 large pieces, 3 smaller/thinner pieces. The breading should be lightly crisp. Agree with another review. Sauces for both could be reduced so they do not upstage the entrees.
Overall, we really enjoyed our evening here. Will return again when traveling through Hood River.
