I had breakfast with my wife this morning and this is THE place to get an amazing breakfast in Hood River, Oregon. The place is somewhat small in the main dining area, but there is another dining area behind. It was very busy but the service was top notch. I am a traditional breakfast guy and I do not venture out from the classic bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast. I like my eggs scrambled and they were prepared perfectly. They claim it is a 2 egg breakfast - do not buy that for one second...I am guessing I had 4-5 eggs worth on my plate. I chose hash browns over cubed breakfast potatoes (wife had those) and you can’t go wrong with either...as they were super tasty and well prepared. If you like some nice thick flavorful bacon, this is your place! Only things I would change (because I have to give an honest review) is to have turkey bacon/sausage available (wife does not eat pork or red meat) and to have grape jelly as an option. If those are my only complaints, you know this must be a legitimately good place to eat. I saw some people order some cinnamon rolls and maple bars and the diner’s patrons were all laughing when they were brought out...I will refrain from ruining the surprise when you see them, but if you plan on ordering one of these, you might want to fast beforehand or bring in reinforcements to help eat it all!

Everything about our visit on a scale of 1-10, was beyond 10., from the moment we entered the door. We were greeted warmly, seated at a save distance from others, great menu selections, our waitress was so friendly, the food was perfect in taste and temperature, and we have NEVER eaten French fries as wonderful as these!!! We would drive the 2 hours again just for the food. And oh the cinnamon rolls.đź‘Ť

This is one of our favorite places whenever we are in Hood River, even to the point of skipping the free breakfast at our hotel. We were seated in the front portion of the restaurant so we could see all the fall decorations. Great variety of menu options, which is good because our daughter is gluten-free. We had the basic egg breakfast with eggs, bacon & toast, the taco omelette and the mushroom & tomato omelette with a side order of corn beef hash and everything was delicious. The servings are very generous and easy to take food home. Of course we had to get a variety of muffins, which are made in-house, to take home. Service was very good and we were checked on regularly. Great experience.

Wonderful service. Was impressed that my eggs benedict came with delicious fruit...berries and pineapple instead of the usual melon. Sister and I decided to split a cinnamon roll sight unseen...delicious, but there was no way the two of us could finish it. Maybe a mini-cinnamon roll item would be useful? Hate wasting food.

This busy little restaurant is an absolute gem. The bakery, which you see first thing through the door, is mesmerising. They make perhaps the best cinnamon rolls I've ever eaten, but beware; they're huge, easily enough for one person, and maybe enough for 3 or even 4. They are amazingly low priced, and judging just from the price I ordered six for takeout. Our granddaughter and family will be eating them from the freezer for weeks. The next time we're in Hood River to visit our granddaughter and our new twin great grandchildren we;ll be in Bette's place for sure.

Bette’s remains an institution in Hood River. Although it recently changed hands, the food continues to be very good, served in massive portions. The Eggs Benedict is something of a signature dish. You can get a half order if you have an average appetite or can’t store the leftovers. No matter what I order, I have enough for breakfast the next day. There is surprisingly little staff turnover. The folk are friendly and efficient. I eat breakfast there at least once a week.

I went with my family for breakfast during our stay in Oregon. It was the best breakfast I had. The menu offers a nice variety for adults and children. It’s one of the places you would love to visit very often since there is many options: pan cakes, French toasts, waffles and different kinds of eggs. I loved my Avocado eggs sandwich, my husband liked the veggie omelette and we got to try the Belgian waffles and French fries that my kids ordered and everything was done perfect. For drinks we got Americano and was excellent . The service was great. I also appreciate the cleanliness of the place and the fact that all staff are wearing a uniform and masks which make me more comfortable eating outside. I would definitely visit this restaurant again if I come to Hood river

The locals line up for it, so that tells you something. The service was fast, really fast, both taking our orders and brining them out. And there were 9 of us! Everything was good. Huge servings as well.
I had the Huevos Rancheros. Unlike any I have had before. They put refried beans between two tostadas and pile the toppings on. Two eggs over easy on top. Had a side of hash browns. Their sides, are almost full size plates. Next time will ask for the eggs to be a little firmer.
The Sweet Roll with pecans was the standout. Their scones are huge.
This place is a keeper!

Had brunch with 2 friends on a Saturday morning. Ordered special - sausage cheese quiche. It was wonderful. It was served with hash browns. Food was very plentiful and quite good.
My friend ordered a feta and sausage omelette. It was huge. Egg was creamy and filled with sausage and gravy. He requested fruit with specifics. It was delivered with grapes and fresh sliced strawberries.
Our waitress was warm and attentive. She was really busy but found the time to be kind.

I really wanted to like this hometown joint - the place was hopping and clearly a local favorite. Lots of interesting options on the menu including the classics. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed in the food department. Service was great, coffee continuously filled, but quality was really lacking. Coffee was weak but drinkable. What really disappointed was the Country Mountain Omelette. The onions and bell pepper were raw and nothing was salted. The portions were generous, but everything tasted like it came from a mix or bag. The pancake was rubbery and flat, which surprised me considering they make pies and homemade muffins - I thought they might have excellent pancakes. They did not. Honestly, an IHOP would have been better. :(

We snuck in shortly before close today. My wife had a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and avocado, I had the Turkey Gobbler. Both were delicious, and the fries were great as well. We did not try the pies, but they looked good! Iced tea was good as well. Friendly staff, great food, a great place.

If you plan to go to Bette's Place, bring a large appetite because the portions here are huge. Their homemade cinnamon rolls are the size of bread loaves and they are delicious. The same goes for all their other breakfast items - well prepared, efficiently and courteously served, and reasonably priced. A great place to start your day.

Open early morning to 2:00 pm for breakfast & lunch with a delightful waitstaff and a fabulous menu to appeal to young & old. Portions are very generous, easily shared or taken home for later. Hot Cocoa a must!

This little diner in downtown has a large menu full of great food—we went for breakfast twice during our stay. Go hungry— portions are really huge. The service was so kind and attentive. We have a child with food allergies and they were very kind on the phone when I called to inquire, and then again so helpful and accommodating in the restaurant which goes a long way for allergy families because that is not always the response. We were thankful. Save room for a giant sweet treat!

Really excellent breakfast restaurant. Even on Sunday morning we were seated quickly. Very friendly staff. Our meals were delivered faster than expected. My omelet was perfectly cooked and the potatoes were excellent, neither greasy nor overly seasoned. Oh, and the coffee was good too. Highly recommended.
