Double Mountain brewery in Hood River is a popular place and features dine in and take out and is quite popular both with locals and tourists so plan ahead for seating on Fridays and Saturdays.
They feature great pizza and the usual other pub style items and entrees and great beer varieties. I had the I.R.A. which was a bit sweet but still really tasty and enjoyable but I think I would change beers if I was having more than one or two.The pizza was well made and tasted hot and delicious with fresh ingredients.
Both the restaurant interior and dining room were well stocked and clean and bar area was clean ad you could tell they were regularly cleaning during Covid.
One thing I did not appreciate was that it was somewhat chaotic and very confusing outside the restaurant on where to go and what to do and who should go where as their door was locked from the outside as they were counting the number of restaurant guests allowed in plus there was a long line and take out people and dine in people all were mixed up using the same take out window for writing their names down and it was a huge crazy unnecessarily confusing hectic scene and management could have done a MUCH better job at communication and logistics of the situation.
Interior atmosphere was comfortable with a good non intrusive volume on the overhead music playing and beer signage and a nice warm feeling about the place.

My wife and i are in our 70’s and this looked from the outside as a place for much younger people. They had seating outside snd it was a nice night. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and the pizza (just like they said on the menu) was slightly charred and crispy. Just the way i like it. I ate s whole 10” pepperoni and my wife ate almost a whole Margarita. We each had a nice Caesar salad as well. i tried their hard cider snd it wasn’t bad either. I would highly recommend the place if you are in the mood for good pizza.

Surprisingly good food, and tremendous service at this local brewpub on a busy Sunday night, 8/15.
Started off rocky when we just wanted to grab a seat at the bar which was wide open, but were told we had to show our papers to sit there. Quite disturbing this happens in The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. However, the host quickly found us a great table for two instead with no papers required. Makes total sense huh?
Service was quick, friendly, and responsive from the git-go. Caprese salad with local heirloom tomatoes was just about the best we ever had. Followed that up with the seasonal only heirloom tomato pizza, which was equally as fantastic. Oh yeah, this is a brew pub too right? I had two pints, the second of which was a Rainier Cherry based sour, which was tremendous and unique.
Highly recommend this place. If there weren’t so many other brewpubs to try in Hood River we’d go back again for the exact same meal!

Two stars for food, four for beer, average 4. The brews were wonderful but our food mediocre. We arrived at a slow time on Sunday for a late lunch, around 2:30 PM. My wife ordered a BLT without cheese, I had a tuna melt. Our server asked what type of mayo we wanted but neither came with it; my wife’s sandwich came with cheese. Our server was nowhere to be found and only returned to the table after we finished picking thorough our food. We complained and were told “sorry about that”. I’m sure it was just a bad day or an inexperienced server but be forewarned. Fortunately, our beer was top drawer and made the experience!

Had an early dinner at Double Mountain and was not impressed. The meatball sandwich was quite spicy and mediocre, the service slow as I watched a baby sit on the dining room floor whilst the wait staff tried to avoid stepping or tripping over the child sitting on the not so sanitary ground whilst the parents chatted away and the restaurant staff did not think to ask the parents to place the child where it safely belonged, in a chair. This was my third time to Double Mountain and I doubt there will be a fourth.

We visited on a Tuesday evening and there was a wait, so I figured it must be good. We were told the wait was 20 minutes and asked if we wanted inside or outside. I requested inside. We waited and were called after about 20 minutes. The hostess took us to an outside table that was nice and I was okay it was outside instead of inside because it was a nice table in a gazebo type structure. Then as we were about to sit she said oh wait and she came back a few minutes later and took us to a different outside table. Terrible table down the sidewalk, very uncomfortable. I was very unhappy. My husband was starving so I decided to go with the flow and just sit down. TERRIBLE. I should have insisted on a better table. We ordered pizza and salad to share and the salad was very good and the pizza was pretty good, not fabulous but very decent. Based on the quality of the food I would return, but based on the disorganization I would never go back. Hope everyone else who tries this place has much better luck than me.

Beer and Pizza (in that order)
We tried some beers first. A smooth soft pils (one of the best I have had aside from such in Prague) and an IRA (India Red Ale).
Try the heirloom tomato pizza, which is a pesto pizza with fresh ripe heirloom tomato slices atop. And the buttery small bowl of olives was a treat. Closed the eve with a cherry infused lightly sour brew (think Belgian kriek lambic) - very good.
Keep an eye on your order as the tab does add up quickly.

What a treat! We were recommended this place by a local for a bite to eat and interesting hangout following up our wine tasting visit. Of the area. The pizza was truly phenomenal and very unique. Atmosphere was pleasant to say the least and I enjoyed the local acoustic bands. Server and hostess were prompt and friendly and did a great job following up and making recommendations on beer and food. Hood River was an unplanned but awesome escape from the Downtown Portland ‘Urban Camping’ Scene…

We are so impressed with Matt the owner at Double Mountain! We attempted to visit the taproom in Hood River on Sept 15th but it was closed due to the terrible smoke conditions. As we were gazing through the windows with disappointed looks on our faces, Matt opened the door, explained that they were closed, and gave us a six-pack of Hop Lion IPA as a consolation gift. WHAAAAT?!? That's above and beyond the call. So we sat in one of their beautiful outside wooden dining booths and popped a round of Hop Lion's (it is delicious by the way - check out its notes of perichor which are seldomly found in other brews). A few minutes later Matt stopped by our table and conversed with us for about 10 minutes. It was so enjoyable, turning what could have been a disappointing outing into a wonderful experience. Double Mountain is definitely worth your patronage and we will definitely be back!

Food and beer selection was excellent - there was some confusion about whether our pizza was our pizza and that was a little awkward. Place was hopping so I think they did the best they could. Had the small Jersey pizza and it was delicious, perfect for a two person split.

This was the “brewery” part of my wife’s birthday weekend. Setting aside the Lamborghini parked outside that she said I couldn’t have (who drives a Lamborghini in Hood River anyway?), there was nothing about our dinner to complain. We had pizza, which was done perfectly in the style of a Sicilian place in Eugene that COVID killed, and the beer was top flight. Try these guys.

Stopped by on our way home from vacation. We'd been here before and really liked it. We were seated quickly but that was about the extent of the service. Slow to take an order or refill a beer. The food was ok but nothing great. I really hate to write negative reviews but we were so disappointed that we won't come back.

Our hotel offered a Growler special so we had to order from here! The lady on the phone was so friendly. They had a great system for take out. The pizza remained hot when we got it back to the hotel. It's so good to eat authentic pizza. Wish we lived closer!!

Food wise, we really enjoyed the Jersey Sub and the Tuna Melt. Both were really tasty. Salads were nice, too. Extremely knowledgeable server helped us with the ins and outs of our brew choices. Very well done all the way around.

We had a fun time at Double Mountain! Wait staff are very friendly and the pizza, beer and ambience were just what we were looking for. My wife really enjoyed the root beer (brewed in house) and the Vaporizer pale ale was tasty and refreshing. Really lovely experience!
