We have spent the week in Brookings and have enjoyed the clam strips at The Hungry Clam several times. They are large and juicy and really tasty!

Stopped by for lunch on recommendation of hotel staff. The chowder was tasty but not spectacular. The fish and chips were disgusting. They were so greasy that we wipe each piece with napkins to remove the oil. But even skipping the greasy batter was not...More
Nice restaurant with walk-up counter. Nice selection of seafood and burgers, but all seafood is deep fried; albeit with a light coating. Very reasonable prices and good food.
We knew we'd be leaving the coast soon, so we went for some fried fish. They had plenty of options here! The dining room was very bright and clean. It also was close to our hotel, so that was a bonus.

We stop by on Sunday afternoon, and it was an 1/2 hour wait for food (place was crowded) but we could get clam chowder soup right away. Good choice it was excellent.
Another place I always take visitors. The clam chowder is the best in town and wins awards every year. You can order your fish grilled or with batter and fried.
Light battered halibut filets, golden and moist. Crunchy on the outside, perfect on the inside hush puppies. Clam strips are great. Clean, light, friendly place for lunch. Creative decor.
I was looking for clam chowder and I was not disappointed, this place had good chowder and service - do not miss it.
