Definitely a great place to eat at if you're in Grants Pass. Its right next to the river and the food and service is excellent. The staff went above and beyond to make our meal fantastic.

We liked so many things about this restaurant—the great view, the lodge-type ambience, some excellent food and many choices. Our entree’s were attractive, large portioned and very tasty. The chocolate cake to finish was to die for. But the tab was expensive and the service...was a bit lackluster. Would dine there again, however.More

good place for great steak. The roasted beet salad was tasty too. Would not recommend the risotto as it was a bit over cooked. and the eggplant was tiny and had not much taste. Musician was very nice and played pleasant tunes.

The place is tired, and not just because of the pandemic, coasting on past triumphs. I am not terribly picky and do not judge a restaurant at a standard above how they present themselves, but this was just not a fine dining experience, the food...was ok I suppose, but below the claims and price point, don't expect too much. Perhaps there was a kitchen disaster, but the place was far from full. Very talented guitarist, drinks were fairly well done.More

We went here to celebrate a birthday and found that others were doing the same. I liked the young man who was playing the guitar, but it was a little loud. Made it hard to talk. The wait staff was great, the food was fresh,...hot when it came, and worth the price. I only wish it were daytime, because the view that we did see was really beautiful - the Rogue River! Dress up or down, it's a very casual atmosphere here. Reservations are a must!More

We arrived early, were seated promptly (inside), and enjoyed a nice dinner with a lovely waitress. HOWEVER, everything (in my opinion) is WAY over priced - we have three friends who also experienced SHOCK at the prices and will not be back.

We ate at Rivers Edge yesterday during spring break after reading the great reviews. The food was excellent but a bit pricey. The service was very disappointing. There was only one other table seated besides us in the dining area. We had to wait several...minutes before getting water, then another several minutes before getting our order taken. We did not get drinks refilled during our meal. The waitress also forgot to bring butter with our bread. We ended up eating it because we were hungry. At one point, I went to see if I could find the waitress. We could hear staff members hanging out and talking in the kitchen. It was a beautiful location and great food. I can understand slow service when restaurants are busy. It was very disappointing to need something and not be able to get it when you can hear staff hanging out & talking in the kitchen. We do plan to go back during a planned trip this summer. I’m hoping for a better experience then.More

We decided to give our "once favorite restaurant" another try in the hopes that it had improved. It hadn't. We made reservations the week before and requested a booth on the lower level (fireplace level). When we arrived they seated us in the corner on...the upper level even though ALL of the tables on lower level were unoccupied... and so it went. The food was just ok. We decided that three times was enough. Goodbye River's Edge. Hello 115 Broiler!!!More

This is our favorite restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful, romantic and the food is fresh and delicious. The waitstaff is always-and has always been friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Rachael is my favorite waitress/server; she has a glowing essence about her and is very attentive. She...always makes us feel welcome.. Then Scott and his music is that added bonus. Beautiful music, relaxing vibe and a river front table tops it off in the warmer time of year. Definitely a place I highly recommend!More

I've tended to think that if a restaurant has a good chef and good waiters that you can present a great meal to your guests. That's true but it's not everything. What I saw tonight was great individual players but how they helped each other...as a team was the part that impressed me so much. I watched servers set up drink trays as if they were their own but they were actually for another server and it was done with the same care as they would do for their own diners. The management was very accommodating to some special needs that I am very appreciative of as well. I heard the bar manager speak about the "culture" that they've built over the years to establish a standard of fun and professionalism. I couldn't be more impressed with the way this restaurant is run and can't help but feel that they are in the "hospitality" business rather than just the restaurant business. My thanks to all who made my evening special!More

We visited twice on our way down to California from Seattle. We had reservations on both visits and the check-in and seating were really smooth with no wait both times. The first time we went was on Christmas Eve. Our experience was great. We ordered...a tomahawk medium-rare, prime rib, salad, shrimp cocktail, and dessert. Everything was cooked perfectly and we had a great experience. The wait staff was masked and masks were optional for guests. When we went back this weekend, things were a bit different. Masks were optional for everyone, very few people were masked - I think 1 wait staff and a few guests as they walked in. We were told the mask mandate was lifted, so no big deal. But then the food. We ordered the tomahawk medium, filet mignon medium, soups, and salads to start. Both steaks were cooked well done. The filet mignon tasted like it was going bad. The salad was bland. The soup was clam chowder, had no clams. The meal was a complete flop. We had one person order as our food just arrived as they arrived late - they ordered filet mignon medium and it came out perfect. So not sure what happened, We still paid and tipped (b/c it wasn't our server's fault) and our server was really great! She refilled drinks, without us asking and was always on top of everything. When we were waiting a while for our food, she came by and explained that the kitchen was busy and the steak was thick and taking a while to cook (maybe that should have been my hint?). So next time, I'm not sure I will go back and take the risk of a $60 overcooked steak. But excited to see what other food options, Grants Pass offers.More

Probably one of the worst customer service restaurants we have ever been to. We received a gift card for Christmas just before Covid hit so we didn't get to use it until this past Saturday,......well that didn't happen. The gift card was purchased from a...different system than what they use now, so needless to say they wouldn't honor it so we didn't get to use it!! It had $75.00 on it, there was no budging them. They didn't care, don't care!! Food was not the best. overcooked, raw in the middle, and took forever to get it served to us. Don't waste your money!!!!!More

Last evening we went to the River’s Edge Restaurant for dinner with friends. With two vegetarians in the party we asked if the fettuccine could be made vegetarian by leaving out the meat. We were told no. So we ordered the egg plant with seasonal...vegetables. When our plate arrived, which cost $20 there were two small rings of eggplant and two sprigs of broccoli. That was it! Not enough food by any means to be called a dinner. Waitress disappeared after serving our food and we did not see her again for quite a while. We were given some bread rolls before the dinner came which were delicious so we wanted to ask for another serving. Couldn’t find our waitress. Finally one person in our party went up to a gal and requested more rolls, she said they were in the oven cooking and we would get them when finished. Well that never happened, and our waitress, when she finally came back told us no more bread for us. I will never go back to this restaurant. Their portions are too small for the exorbitant price they charge and the eggplant that I had was not that good and the broccoli was tough. I wish I would have taken a picture of the plate when it arrived. Anyway, I usually do not write reviews but the owners of this restaurant need to make some changes or soon they will no longer have a business.More

Rivers Edge has been our go to place on the river for quite a long time. We treat family and friends to the experience as often as we can, almost every 3 to 4 weeks weather permitting. We always enjoy the outside seating on the...river with live music when it's going on. However, recently the menu has changed and not all for the better. And prices for some of the items added are a far stretch from reasonable. Consider the pork belly "featured item" we ordered on our last visit and the "featured" desert items. Very disappointing portions on both...4 small pieces of pork belly for $24.00 and a maybe two bite cake desert for $10.00...we felt totally chumped. Some of your other standby greats have been omitted or reduced in portion to make us feel totally taken advantage of. I'm sorry, but some things are better left alone.More
