This restaurant was closed during most of Covid 19, but when they finally did open, we went. The smell of the food cooking was so wonderful! It reminded me of my favorite Italian restaurant in Florida. We ordered the lasagna special, and other than the tomato sauce being sharp, the food was plentiful and delicious. We can't wait to try their pizza.

Excellent Italian with fabulous homemade gravy (sauce) over meatballs and Italian sausage. Perfect lunch for “dirty”carnivores like us

We had very nice lunch here last week and were very happy with our meals. I had a caesar salad with chicken and my other half had the lasagna. Both were good and reasonably priced. Nice having beer and wine available, too.

Just disappointing While visiting in Grants Pass, we decided to try Giannellis. We were seated promptly and water and menus were provided. Then the phone rang. The waitress (only one) answered and spent 10 minutes chatting with someone while we waited. Eventually, I had lasagna. Virtually tasteless with minimal cheese and scorched pasta. My wife had spaghetti. Pasta was dry and sauce tasted as if freshly poured from a can. Our daughter had a salad which was OK. No reason to return.

Last Friday we were out looking for food and saw sandwich boards for Giannelli's on a corner as we were driving by. We stopped in since they were featuring eggplant parm as the Friday special (IMHO, eggplant parm is pretty much the gold standard for Italian cuisine as usually good eggplant parm = good food). We were NOT disappointed!! The interior has a quaint, homey feel and the friendly staff immediately greeted us. Even though they were busy the whole time we were there with folks dining in, folks picking up take-out orders and Uber eats drivers picking up - they really have their rhythm down and kept things flowing. We ordered the eggplant parm, beef ravioli, a pizza, a family sized salad + bread and a cannoli (the last one). The red sauce they use on the eggplant and the ravioli was EXCELLENT and also didn't cause any stomach upset/ burn as some dark tomato sauces sometimes do. That was notable. The whole family was really impressed by the quality and flavors of the food. The portions were good sized, too. I could go on an on about how wonderful the food and the owner Sherry and her staff were, but I would just tell you to go grab some food and see for yourself. Note: The cannoli was one of the best I've ever had, including in Italy. We got the last one for that day, So order early if you want to try them. Much respect and Best Wishes to these wonderful folks for serving up great Italian cuisine in Southern Oregon. We'll see you again soon!! Special note: The young lady up front with dark hair (I'm sorry we don't remember your name) is a real sweetheart and even helped carry out food to our car. Thank you!!!

Very cozy authentic Italian Restaurant. The food was great, one of my friends did not like the sweetness to the spaghetti sauce, but I explained that in Italy the sauce is on the sweet side. The eggplant parmesan was excellent. I found the cost to be very reasonable for a restaurant nowadays. The server was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely dine there again.

Since this place is new in town, we decided to try it for lunch. We are sorry we did. It was $6.00 for a small piece of blah cheese pizza. The soup was cold and very small serving. No atmosphere here, and the waitress stood in one place and talked with a friend the whole time so didn't care how anything was.

We Enjoyed our Meal and will Return. Excellent sauces on our pasta and raviolis. All cooked well. We had a coupon for half off a second meal. Interior is old but comfortable. Owner was the cook this day. Price is maybe 10 percent higher than we felt they would be But food is really good and we will return. Wish them the best of luck with the place and as a full blooded Italian, I recommend you try them and make your own decision!

We had dinner here the other night and were pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Our server was friendly and on-the-ball. I had the spinach-artichoke dip with garlic bread and loved every bite and there was enough left over to take home. My husband had the spaghetti with meatballs and he really enjoyed his meal. Our son had the calzone and he liked it. I have to disagree with a couple of the reviews. Although the restaurant isn't fancy, it's comfortable and the food doesn't taste like it's out of a can. The prices are a little steep for the area. We'll definitely be going back when we're in town!

I was very pleased to see that we had an Italian Restaurant that was in my neighborhood,My husband & I had Dinner there. We do not expect to return. The price for what we got was TOO high, It was not a special night out.& the food was not special. The ambiance was not either.I wish it had offered more.

Italian dining in Grants Pass is minimal. When Giannelli's opened, we were excited to try it out. It was with mixed results. Gianelli's is a small place, limited seating, but does not seem to be overly crowded at any time. Our food was okay, but not great. Tried the good ol' basic spaghetti with meatballs the first time, and had to wait for nearly 45 minutes because they had run out! How can an Italian restaurant run out of meatballs? Anyway, it was edible, but tasted like it was out of a can. The meatballs were basic beef balls without a lot of flavor. Tried Chicken Linguini another time, and it was fair. We have heard that they have some excellent dishes, but we've not tried any others. They'll satisfy your hunger pains, but so far, our hope to find a GOOD Italian Restaurant in GP has fallen flat.

Arrived at the restaurant at 11:45am and ordered the Soup of the Day. It was Friday so I was really looking forward to some Clam Chowder. I was told they didn't have any soup. I asked if they were already sold out at 11:45 and was told they didn't make any. Very disappointed. Ended up ordering a Reuben sandwich with home made chips. The Reuben came on a toasted sub roll instead of the usual rye bread. I was a little surprised with the bread selection but it was actually quite good as were the chips. I split the Reuben with my friend and glad I did. The portion size is very large and splitting the sandwich turned out to be just perfect for both of us. The total cost for the sandwich was $9.50.

Recently opened they are probably still working out the kinks here.. the pizza and calzones looked large and great. Hand tossed. Real progress. We didn't order that, though. We ordered a 16.00 crab and shrimp dish. Now first, there was no crab. Second, the amount of pasta and size of the dish was equivalent a bread plate. and not a high stack I am not sure whether we were getting Italian Tapas or it was just a mistake. Ouch. We brought this up with the server who said "oh well, they missed it." Avoid all pasta dishes until they re-work the plating, size and quality control. On the other hand, just order pizza or a calzone.
