Black Iron Grill is now the WyEast Cafe and has an expanded menu and quick service (No more 30 - 40 min waits for orders) food is hot and fresh and they also have Grab-N-Go items.

The counter staff clearly acted as though they had better things to do than wait on customers, and the cheeseburgers were was just average. Timberline Lodge should be able to provide a lower-cost dining option that is better than this.

Many teens and middle school aged kids with mid quality food in an cafeteria atmosphere. Did not like it but cheaper than the options at the Timberline Lodge.

Ok food, about normal prices for ski areas. Small food court area. They had candy, yogurt, pop, beer, "energy" drinks. Their hot chocolate was only so-so. Bathrooms and drinking fountains on lower level along with gift shop, rental shop, and a ski/board workbench with tools...More

I got a milkshake and a chicken tenders with fries meal and although it was a little pricy it was nice having something that was hot and tasted good. The milkshake was awesome! The grill closes pretty early (2 or 3:00-ish); grab a table by...More

Just went in for a snack a couple of time and ordered soup. Not ordinarily a big fan of "just soup," but it was so fresh and unique, I went back another day and had the same. Cozy. Good service.

The food just wasn't that good. The hashbrowns were greasy and the toast was dry. I expected better for $8.50 on a paper plate.

Description
Across the parking lot from Timberline Lodge in the Wy'East Day Lodge, you'll find the Wy'East Cafe and Y Bar. Both are casual restaurants that are favorite hangouts for hungry skiers and riders taking a break from the slopes. Offering fare better than your average ski lodge food, the Wy'East Cafe caters to skiers and riders looking to grab a quick meal between runs. The menu features breakfast, burritos & bowls, pizza & pasta, burgers & dogs, chili and soup as well as grab and go items like salads, sandwiches, and espresso drinks. Thirsty for something a little stronger? The Black Iron Grill has a small but satisfying selection of bottled beer and wine too.
