We stayed at the resort across the street and decided to hit up The Sandtrap for breakfast and dinner. They had great choices for both and even though take out is the only option, everyone was so nice and accomdating.
The biscuits and gravy and pancakes were awesome!
We got the 19th hole and the cranberry chicken salad sandwiches for dinner with tots and a side salad. Both were delicious. The chicken salad is a bit saucier than i usually like, but it was still very good and filling.
Definitely will hit them up next time we are in Gearhart.

We were here for dinner as a party of 7. It was our first time visiting, but 3 others in our party had been there before, and actually suggested it. Maybe, we were there on an 'off' night, not sure. Very slow at taking our orders, and then, 2 of them were wrong. One ordered the sliders, but, received a salad. When our server brought her sliders, they looked and tasted terrible, and there was some random piece of string inside one. She sent it back, and refused a replacement (not sure if they took it off her bill). Milkshakes that were ordered were also the wrong flavors. Two cheese pizzas were ordered, and they tasted like cheese topped cardboard. The Blue Bayou salad was good. Not sure if we'll be returning. Sure had high hopes, though

I hadn’t tried this outlet before. I tried it during the pandemic when restaurants started reopening. I tried the fish and chips. The fish was good, the fries were overdone, but well seasoned. It filled me up. I think I’ll try a burger next time. If you stop, you are within walking distance to the beach.

Came here knowing Mcmenamins isnt know for their food. Some of the fruit in fruit bowl was brown, chicken fried steak was way overcooked, tough and twice as thick on one end as the other (probably why it was over cooked) and fairly small for the almost $17. My wife had a breakfast sandwich and it was good but overpriced. Almost $50 for a breakast that want cooked well, waiter never brought us water or offered to refill our drinks. We wont be back!

I had called & asked about reservations on the outside deck for my husband's 60th birthday. I was told they do not do reservations but I could call 1/2hr before to see if the deck would be open. I explained that due to Covid he would only be comfortable eating outside and if this was not an option we would want to know ahead of time to make other plans. I was then told I could call the morning of. I called the next morning and was told the deck would be available and we could call 1/2hr ahead to be put on a waitlist. That evening I called a 1/2hr ahead and then got a text that our table was ready.
When we arrived the young hostess first told us there was no patio seating, there would be a long wait, and I had to explain the calls and confirmation I had received.
We were seated on the patio, and as we waited, and waited for our food we were happy we had ordered the tater tots my son suggested. We did not time it but our dinners took close to an hour and a half! Our poor waitress apologized that they only had 2 chefs for the entire place. Not her fault, and we understand a lot of the local businesses are struggling to get up to speed with staff since Covid.
We were told that the outside tables would have blankets. When we asked our waitress she told us that the counter next to the hostess would have these. My husband came back to say that the person he asked, said they didn't have a key to access them. Our waitress was able to procure a couple of heated ones for us. I'm not sure who or where management was but the communication and organization were not good. You would think they would have their servers taking around free fries or such for all the tables that had to wait so long. We saw another table that had been there longer than us with young children who were getting pretty cranky and out of control.
Surprisingly the food was decent, but we were also pretty hungry. What a crummy 60th birthday dinner. It seems that this restaurant gets by with its location and capacity. Food is OK, but you take your chances on the wait and service.

Took awhile to get service. Guy didn't care at all we were there. We were older couples. Young people came in. He was right on them and friendly. Had to ask 3 times for water. Food was cold and no silverware just poor. When you spend the high prices they are asking. Food better be worth it. It's not

We made the drive from Cannon Beach to go here for lunch. When we walked in, there was a sign saying, “see bartender”. There was not anyone behind the bar and no servers in sight. Someone came out from the kitchen and went behind the bar, so we asked her if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait for someone. She said she had no idea, then asked another person working there who also said she didn’t know. She never came back to tell us anything and walked by us multiple times, without saying a word and very obviously trying not to make eye contact, so we left.
I worked in food service for many, many years and I can confidently say that we are absolutely not high maintenance. In fact, we already knew what we were going to order, from looking at the menu online. And I usually tip at least 40% because I remember being a server.

My wife and I stopped in for a bite and a pint on our way to Seaside and had the most wonderful experience. This was our first introduction to the wonderfully quirky McMenamins and we’re truly delighted. Lunch was delicious with very generous servings and the Julius Squeezer beer was out of this world! We have since visited another 4 McMenimans around Oregon and have had fantastic experiences at each one. AAA+++

I say terrible service but I really don't know because nobody ever waited on us. We went for breakfast and the place wasn't busy but after 25 minutes we got up and left. We went for Dinner the night before and everything was OK. We have eaten at 6-8 McMenamin's in Oregon and this has been the worst experience.

It's a cool place to hang out on a chilly or rainy afternoon. We stopped in for lunch since we love the McMenamins Edgefield. The beers are always good. The food was acceptable. Unfortunately, the bartenders had to serve everyone in the bar area. The service was alright; I have the feeling the staff had been working some long hours. I would give them a second chance; they could have been having a bad day.

Surprisingly great pizza! Also very expensive pizza! $42 for a large.
Our server was friendly and we enjoyed talking to her. Great outdoor seating, fully shaded in the afternoon. Good choice of beers.

Each McMenamin's is unique, with fun artwork depicting the history of the area and the people. Mid-afternoon was quiet with only 10 people in the restaurant/bar. Great friendly service and several choices for people who eat gluten-free, like me. We had a table overlooking the golf course and deck. Friendly and efficient service, giving us history of the golf course and hotel.

Going to any McMenamins is a fun experience. The Sand Trap is part of one the oldest golf courses out west. The dining rooms are quite eclectic, but fun. The staff here is fairly friendly. The server did a great job. I ate inside but still had a decent view. The golf course with mountains in the background. I ordered the salmon burger to be different. It with the fries made for a tasty lunch. I try to stop at any of their locations when out. Fun food. Fun times.

Fabulous, cozy and your own putting green to boot. Typical eclectic McMenamins with full bar, fire pit and cozy interior building. This place is tucked away among bunkers. Walk in only.

Great place to grab a bite to eat. Friendly staff. Food and drinks were great! We arrived around 11am and there were few customers so we didn’t have to wait long for our food. A++++
