Visiting from Utah, our party of four wanted to eat lunch somewhere quintessentially "Eugene", and Cornucopia seemed to be the perfect choice. This location was closest and we felt fortunate to choose one with such a great outdoor patio, friendly staff and delicious menu options. It was hard to choose, but we ordered various burgers and drinks. Even though the patio wasn't full, we waited over 40 minutes for our food! When I asked the waitress about the delay, she told me they had only one cook in the kitchen working. UGH. When the food did finally arrive, it was yummy. I guess if you are laid back and in no hurry to eat, waiting this long is okay. I would probably return, maybe try another location with faster service on a Saturday afternoon.

Thanks so much for visiting and leaving the great review! So sorry for the delay in food delivery to your table. It has been a challenging two years for hiring consistent kitchen staff. We are happy you loved our food. And happy to know you will visit us again. Can't wait to see you next time!

I ordered their Jeros Bacon Cheeseburger with fries to be delivered recently. This was the second time I've ordered online for delivery since Covid arrived.
The food arrives nice and warm and tasty. The delivery people are always really friendly.
I miss the days of eating inside this establishment (which was always a pleasure), but it is still great to have their food on occasion.
Highly recommended!

My hip and happening young niece was in town from Thailand and suggested dinner at Cornucopia, a favorite of hers when she lived in Eugene. What an AWESOME idea! We sat outside at a picnic table, where the street was quiet and we were in the shade. The service was amazing, our waitress and the host were very helpful and fun and answered all our questions with big smiles. This restaurant is famous for its breakfasts, apparently, but based on the Tuesday crowd, it is very much in demand for dinner. The place was filled up by the time we left at 6:30, so get there earlier to snag a good seat. My niece had a glass of white wine (VERY generous pour) and their famous mac and cheese. I tried a bite...very special. She eats like a bird but she ate every bite! My husband opted for the burger rice bowl and loved it with a Crown Royal on the rocks. It is good to know that they have tons of gluten free options, fabulous and creative salads, appetizers galore, sandwiches and Philly cheesesteaks in various forms....but when it was time to order, I was torn between fish and chips and fish tacos. I opted for the fish tacos which were very good, tons of food and I especially loved the brown rice and black beans which were on the side. Delicious! It was a very Eugene experience, healthy/reasonable/friendly/unique. I highly recommend this place and we'll be back! Tucked in on quiet 17th street, a few blocks west of Willamette. You can park in the church lot directly across from Cornucopia. There's also a big patio on the back side, which looks inviting for big groups.

We usually come here for lunch 1-2 x per month. The last couple of times have been not great... slow service, inconsistent Covid 19 protocol adherence, not the beers we like. But last week, we got a shock when we saw their new prices! WOW!! Quality has not improved, so why the hike? We will take this off of our lunch rotation.

Had the great Chicken toco salad but substituted tempeh for the chicken. It was delicious and huge. But it cost $25.00! Why are the salads the most expensive items on the menu? More expensive than most of the burgers! I loved the salad, but it is probably the last time I will have it - way too expensive.

We drove from Silverton to try this place because I love burgers. First we got there all was good, nice servers, but the music was too loud over our table which they turned down without us saying a word. We went there for $12.99 burger Monday and that was a trick. We looked at and pointed to that deal I wanted on the board. One of the Burgers on the menu said this one is “not included in the Monday deal” so based on everything i picked a random burger and we thought you get it for 12.99, not once did she tell us otherwise, which later she acknowledged nicely. We ended up paying full price and actually more because they charged us even for the ranch, etc. It said the drink was included and that wasn’t the case either which we would never have ordered a drink as we both drink water usually with a heavy lunch but we did it because of the special which I even told her I’m gonna give my husband a soda and she was fine with that. Then I got the burger and it tasted funny, fries were cold which I didn’t eat. No biggie though. We decided at this point once she explained it’s only one cheeseburger on the menu even though they’re also close in price there’s only one specific that that deal is for, but didn’t tell us that until after. I didn’t even like the burger I got, I was just trying to try something different because she didn’t say otherwise and actually was pushing for us to try one of these burgers there known for. The worst thing is I got up this morning and have total food poisoning. I didn’t expect it to get to this as every weekend we try new restaurants and this is so disappointing, we will not be back.
I just want to point out that I have had better tasting meat for burgers that are much less and my husbands chicken sandwich was just basic chicken tenders sandwich. i’d rather have a good quality meat and less of it than a whole stack of meat that isn’t quite that good but looks good from the pics,

Hi there, First, we apologize for any confusion and if your server was unable to clearly communicate each special you were inquiring about. We offer two different burger deals. Both are clearly posted and visible, with descriptions on chalk boards for all to see for reference. On Mondays, we offer our "Burger Monday" special. That is any burger of your choice, except the Blonde Bomb double half lb. patty burger. There are 17 others to choose from. This includes fries and a pint of beer, or other beverage, for $18.99. The $12.99 special is offered daily. We call it the Corn Star Meal Deal. This is a 1/4 cheeseburger, fries and a soda for $12.99. No substitutions on this one, other than removing an ingredient like cheese or tomato. We charge for sides of ranch because it is 20 times more expensive than ketchup , mayo or mustard. Which are of course free.
We're sorry you feel got sick from your burger. We will double check to make sure all safety protocols were adhered to the day you visited. But we can assure you we have an exemplary food safety record. You can even look it up.
It is disappointing and we are sorry to read that you didn't enjoy your burger. Especially since we were just voted Best Burger in Eugene for the 15th year in a row in the Register Guard. Perhaps one of our newer cooks needs better training. I welcome you to come back and give us another try anytime. I am confident you would have a different experience. We also have two other locations to choose from.

Average food - Arrogant hipster wait staff. For the first time in my life I left 0.00 as a tip. The staff exudes some weird superiority complex for an average burger joint - rolled eyes at questions about their kind of cryptic menu and laid the check on the table when 2 of us were still eating. Rookie service - basic food - good place if you’re hammered looking for grub - nothing more.

First time to visit this particular Cornucopia--it's very "Eugene", with a definite personality of its own! Fun, colorful, and offering great food! I loved the "Smuggler" burger, which, believe it or not, has a light crust of crushed coffee grounds, along with avocado, spicy cheese, tomato---it sounded so very different, I just had to try it! And it was wonderful! The Reuben which my husband ordered was given a "2 thumbs up", and the onion rings and salads were also very good. We had such a good time, we left with tie-dye tshirts with the Cornucopia logo in the design, to bring home to Hot Springs, Arkansas. We definitely will visit again, next trip to Eugene.

We eat a plant based diet and are fortunate that Eugene has some good options for dining out. There are 2 Cornucopia restaurants and we frequent both establishments. The same food with different atmosphere and both are comfortable and welcoming places. Today we had the Asian rice bowls with the best tasting tempeh around. They also feature this tempeh on several sandwiches. They also have a burger substitute which has good taste but too mushy for my taste. Our grandkids love the Mac and cheese and grilled cheese sandwich which is served with the crust cut off. Definitely a great place if looking for a great meal.

This review, while indicating my experiences with this place over the course of a couple years, has also still been the case for my most recent visit there, as well. Anyway, I've been to Cornucopia many times over the past few years with my grandfather, and I always get the burgers. Said burgers are, typically, fantastic. The fries tend to be subpar, but if you're there for the burg, then it's not particularly problematic. That said, what is problematic tends to be actually getting your food, especially earlier in the afternoon, even if it's well after the lunch rush. I've had far too many times where we've sat for nearly half an hour to have our order taken, even when there's hardly any other customers in the restaurant. Mind you, it's clearly not because of the wait staff being particularly busy, considering how many times during this wait that they seem to idly chat with friends that stop by. Granted, if the wait for having your order taken is acceptable, waiting another hour or so for your food in those same circumstances isn't. My only other real complaint about the place would be how incredibly noisy it is when the place does have a substantial number of customers (can't hear the person across the table from you half the time), but that's not really the fault of the restaurant, rather than it just being the type of clientele that they try to appeal to. Seems to appeal more to the college crowd, I guess.
So, in short, this place is great for a burger, but make sure your schedule is open, particularly if you're planning to eat there in the early afternoon, but if you like a more relaxed atmosphere where you can sit down and chat with an old friend or catch up with the family, then this may not be quite what you're looking for.

Hi there! I'm very happy to know you enjoy our burgers and generally seem to like our place. I am a bit mystified however, about the description of wait times for food. If we allowed our guests up to an hour just to get to the point of having their orders taken, I don't believe we would still be in business. As we are soon approaching our twentieth year in the restaurant business, we still continue to strive for superior service. Our servers are all trained to greet folks at the door within 30 seconds or less. When it's not full and there is no wait list, menus and water will be offered within a minute of being seated. Next, drinks and appetizers will be offered within 5 minutes after seating. Our guests can either start with drinks and apps first, then order their meals upon arrival of drinks, or they can order everything they would like all at once. Our goal is to have entrees delivered within 20-25 minutes upon order being taken by the server. Most all of our food is made from scratch in our somewhat small kitchens. We are not fast food or fast casual. Occasionally, when extremely busy, there may be longer wait times for food. I go to many restaurants myself locally or when travelling. If I were unable to have my order taken within 15-20 minutes of being seated at any restaurant, let alone one whole hour, I personally would be leaving at that point to find another place to eat and I would expect that our own guests would as well. I would love to see you back in for a meal sometime. When you do, please email me directly to let me know how long it took to have your order taken after being seated and also how many minutes it took to arrive. I would appreciate that. nils@cornucopiaeugene.com Sincerely, Nils Stark (Owner)
