While visiting our son he suggested an Italian restaurant we had not been to in previous visits. We were not disappointed. We shared a large artichoke dip and for entrees had braised pork, chicken picatta done in a different type preparation than I had ever...experienced, and smoked salmon alfredo with sauce done to your specification. The house chianti went very well with our dishes. Eric provided excellent service and suggestions.More

Daughter and I were craving pasta after a long day of driving. We found this place online and were excited to eat here since it was in the vicinity of our hotel. It was easy enough to get to, and parking was simple. We did...not even think about making a reservation, as it wasn't mentioned on the Facebook page that we noticed. They were packed out but managed to find us a spot at the bar. Our server, Eric, was amazing, charming and funny. Our food was so delicious. I wish we lived nearer to this place, as I would go often!More

First off, Brighid and John made our visit the most amazing of all and the food was off the chain. I recommend the Chicken Pesto and for a second dish, spaghetti and meat balls. Yum. Thanks for getting us in at the last minute, y’all!...Truly a 5-star experience!More

For our one night in Eugene we wanted Italian food and decided to try Placidos. After perusing the menu online we ordered our dinner to go. The building was not quite what we expected when we drove up as the restaurant shared it with a...few other businesses. It was a nice building with outdoor picnic bench style seating and indoor seating. The restaurant was busy but our order was ready on time. To go orders were picked up at the bar. Service was friendly and they made sure we had utensils and napkins before we left. Initially the to go containers seemed a bit small but they were actually quite heavy and packed full. Chicken Marsala was tender and flavorful with mushrooms and a whole container of fettuccine. Smoke salmon Alfredo was rich, creamy, with red bell peppers and crimini mushrooms and spinach fettuccine. the smoked salmon added a distinctive taste to the overall dish. Pork ragout was hearty in a red wine marinara with rotini pasta. Overall a good value for our Italian dinner.More

Stopped here for dinner (reserve or you won't get in!) and luckily got a beautiful outdoor seating table right by the rail track. Food was amazing and the service was top notch - friendly and attentive, couldn't have asked for more. Definitely worth a visit...

When it’s your wife’s birthday, you listen to her and go where she wants for “birthday dinner.” We had to be in Eugene, and Lynette felt like pasta for dinner and read about Placido’s. After passing it three times while looking for it as I...drove, BOOM! She spotted it! AM I EVER GLAD SHE DID! Waiter JOHN was more than accommodating to us, even without a reservation. We ordered cocktails to start, and her Negroni was amazing, as was my Whiskey Sour...possibly the best I’ve had! To open, I had the wonderful Caesar Salad, then I ordered the Arrabbiata, Lynette had the Smoked Salmon Ravioli and both were amazing! Before I get too carried away, let me just say the complimentary bread (Placido’s is adjacent to a bakery) and Marinara are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Have I mentioned that ALL pasta and the sausage are made IN HOUSE? Clearly, I could write a book praising Placido’s! Let me conclude by saying that waiter JOHN will delight you with his attentiveness to make you feel welcome and valued, the ambiance is cool, the cocktails are amazing and the food delectable and the best you’ll have! Enjoy Placido’s!!!More

Small, cozy place with good food. Interesting combination of upscale and rustic. I really liked the carbonara I ordered.

If you start with a hungry college student and want a filling meal and the ability to talk with him/her in nice surroundings, this is your "go to " place. The food is plentiful, well prepared and nicely presented. The menu is ample even for...fussy eaters. The service is very attentive. Since this is a rather small place, reservations are a must.More

A small venue with great Italian food. We would suggest some kind of baffling to reduce the sound level but otherwise a great place to eat in Eugene.

How is this place NOT rated five stars by everyone? The pasta is the most tender, delectable, and perfectly sauced I have ever had. Stick to the special of the day--it never disappoints. Avoid the pastas in red sauce (apparently they make their own sauces,...except for the red sauce)--they're merely good. Everything else is amazing.More

We enjoyed a late lunch at Placido's. I had the smoked chicken ravioli with marinara. Apparently they smoke the chicken themselves and it was great. It's a strong flavor which I really like. It said there was also pesto in them but I didn't taste...it. The marinara is nice and basic, and goes well with the chicken. My husband had chicken marsala. It had a thicker sauce than we're used to. It seemed to be more of a brown sauce. It didn't have a strong marsala flavor. Our daughter had the chicken pesto with fusilli. She enjoyed it. I tasted the sauce and it had a lot of delicious basil flavor. Service was a bit iffy at the start. When we were seated we weren't given menus. Eventually I went and got them myself. After that, everything went smoothly.More

We found Placido's through a recommendation and we were not disappointed. Reading the reviews here left me wondering how the recommendation could be so different from the complaints I saw on Trip Advisor. We arrived to a warm welcome and a wait which made sense...as Placido's is small. Or wait was short and we we were treated kindly while we waited. Once we had our seats, the service was top notch, the drinks were good and the food was fantastic. The homemade pasta at Placido's is very good and the reviews we read about the pasta being undercooked clearly were written by someone who has not had properly prepared pasta. Al Dente and perfect! We enjoyed everything about Placido's and will be returning and recommending to others.More

Food was delicious! Carbonara very tasty. It’s alacart dining. House salad great and they let us split it. No bread though, sure missed that because that is so Italian. We might return but I would recommend it for a very nice dinner out.

Came to Eugene to visit my Son for Mothers Day. My Son wanted to take us here, as I wanted to have Italian food for dinner, and he read about this place, and we decided to try it. What can I say that is positive?...It took an hour and a half to get our food, I had to ask for silverware, the food was sooo disappointing when it finally came. In all the time we were waiting we saw our waitress once! I can"t express how terribly bummed we all were. I hated the fact we had to pay our hard earned money for this. I always tip really well, and I could not this time. I guess I would have if the waitress would have acted like she cared even a little bit. We will never go back and will tell our friends not to even bother. We should have went to Olive Garden instead, it would have been much better!More

I really, really hate this place The service - such as it is - is as slow as the proverbial molasses. The last member of our party was served his order well after all the others were. We are not talking about a lapse of...just several minutes here. The pasta was definitely undercooked and as tough as tough as can be. To cap everything, the place applies an automatic gratuity regardless of how good or bad your experience. ...and they want a tip in addition! This is truly a place I for one will never ever patronize again.More

You should call them to see if they could accommodate. I didn't see a table that size but they could put them together. It is a small bistro type place.
