Happy Hour Rocks!

Happy hour menu includes several varieties of onigiri (rice formed around filling, served on/in a sheet of nori) and skewers. Ahi onigiri and shitaki skewers are deservedly popular. Oysters rockefeller is not on the happy hour menu but is unique - 3 oysters are deep fried, placed on a bed of... read more

i havent eaten a lot of japanese food, outside of sushi/sashimi, so im not sure if it 'usually' has a lot of curries or indian spices. i ordered the beef udon which was basically a japanese beef noodle soup. it was good a little hard to eat as the fat slippery noodles defied chopsticks and the large soup spoon alike!... I met a client for dinner after we had several IPA's from a local brewery. It was a beautiful night and dined outside. There was a great choice on the menu and the bar service and quality was top notch (They make a great Manhattan!!). The food comes out pretty quickly and you should order plates one at a time... Meiji has a unique combination of Japanese Izakaya (sort of pub food, see Wikipedia for a good definition) and Northwest US cuisine. Think creative fusion served tapas style. Combine that with what almost everyone thinks is the best bar in Eugene, and that's Meiji. We love it. Nice selection of local beer, limited selection of wine. If someone in the... More

Meiji Happy Hour (ALL NIGHT!)-- order from a good variety of delicious and inexpensive menu items-- making it possible to enjoy some excellent drinks (I especially like the Bourbon & Ginger). Vegetarians and meat eaters alike always leave satisfied. I love the cowboy country music and the home-like space. The wait staff is also top-notch.

Holy Schnikes!! I haven't wrote a review for Izakaya Meiji!?!? What the heck is wrong with me!?!? I absolutely love Izakaya Meiji. This place is fantastic. Fun, Entertaining, Intimate, and so on. We've been here quite a few times. Our first experience was during the Whitaker Block Party. We were able to slide in here around 10pm for a table... More

Cool hipster fibe. Japanese influenced dishes. Everything was so fresh and absolutely delicious. When in Eugene we won't hesitate to eat here again.

The place is quaint with an extensive drink menu. If you're into whiskey than this is your place. The cocktails were delicious, I just had the French 75 which was terrific for the summer evening out with my girlfriend. I strongly recommend the Mussels, they were so delicious and the broth they were in was so good I had to... More

We love this place. Very eclectic menu with plenty for vegans to choose from. Tasty little russet potato and sesame oil number is easily in my top five appetizers ever. Teeny, dark bar feels like you are in a movie scene-so cool. Outside patio is super fun to hang out on with friends. We send our B and B guests... More

Went here with my son, daughter-in-law, and two year old granddaughter. All small plates on the menu. I had fried octopus which came with a dipping sauce, green beans, and salmon cooked in miso. Everything was great. The food comes out as soon as it's ready which was fast when we were there. They had some drinks which looked good.... More
