Papa's is an authentic Southern soul food restaurant in a vintage home in a mixed-use neighborhood. You'll see homes, businesses, including a cannabis dispensary next door, young families, college-aged young people and homeless men sleeping in the park at the rear of the restaurant. It wasn't scary, though. If you're from the South, you know there are two kinds of... More

We visited Eugene, Oregon back in February to visit my son. I didn't know what to expect food wise. When we got there in the evening my son suggested we get dinner at Papa's to go. Their prices were very reasonable, so my expectations were not too high. I was tired after traveling for more than 12 hours and I... More

Definitely will be going back. My chicken was pretty good. What I really loved was their cornbread I even got one to go and my friend their bread pudding. Service is good takes some time to get your food but worthy.

Visited with clients. Funky location with a house converted to a restaurant. Parking is terrible and you can expect to wait a while to be seated. When you sit down in the cramped dining areas you may be tempted to be unhappy. Wait til you get your dinner. My group had a wide variety of items and I tasted pork... More

Enjoyed a patio lunch with family in dappled shade picnic table area. Patio was fully enclosed from road. I had the beef brisket with fries and collards. Delicious and filling for around $11. Collards were not as I like them, with a bit more oil and less vinegar. But still good. Also enjoyed at our table: chicken waffles-nod to Leslie... More

We get takeout from this place. We order the fried chicken. I've had the jerk chicken before and I prefer the fried chicken. Baked beans are my favorite side dish. They are spicy. Corn bread is to die for too. Coleslaw is my other go to side.

On Blair (dicey at night, daytime only), spicy, cajun, medium size menu, street parking, clean, cool, patio and breezy, big clean restroom, prices low mid range, courteous, seating is average, waiters attentive but not in-your-face, not for kids, good for couples, family good. No blaring music, you may actually converse, tables, small liquor, had gumbo it is wonderful, fried chicken... More

While I certainly expected a lot more, I was not even mid-happy about this. Service so slow I wondered if it was actually open. Food very bland and not anything as it pretends. I shall not return...... ever.

Here's the Honest Scoop- It's a BBQ joint in an old house in a trendy neighborhood in what has, and continues to, attract a questionable population. But enough popular businesses are located in the area to make you feel comfortable. Parking is on the street. Circle a block or two and you'll find a spot even on a busy weekend... More

First visit with 5 others, family. We had an assortment of entrees from the menu, fried chicken was excellent , snapper also excellent, pulled pork sandwich. The sides got a mixed review, my collard greens were served in water, I had to drain each forkful on my plate, Mac and Cheese Mmmm OK, nothing special, the spicy fries (forgot name... More
