Located on the North end of Hemlock Street in beautiful Cannon Beach, the Bistro is a cozy, romantic local hangout restaurant. The brick walkway & patio are utterly charming, especially during the spring and summer when the garden is in bloom. The Bistro offers an amazing, eclectic menu. Local Dungeness Crab cakes, USDA certified Prime beef, Fresh local seafood and a few Asian inspirations. The Bistro offers live music 5 nights per week of local well-known musicians and hosts happy hour in the lounge every night. The Bistro also offers a dog menu, on the patio, for the canine lovers during the summer months. Freshly made and served alongside your entrees. Reservations are recommended.
We spent a few nights in Cannon Beach and had mixed dining and take out experiences until we tried the Bistro...they were by far the best. We wanted something lighter, and ordered two pear salads and some crab cakes. Both items were prepared perfectly. Plenty...of crab in the cakes! The order was prepped on time and they even added two hunks of amazing olive rosemary bread. What an unexpected yet totally welcomed addition. Well Done, Bistro!More
The food was so delicious. We sat outside because of the way life is. Our food was ready at 4:30/we ordered on line. My tuna was so delicious, and the Cioppino was so good. The desert , ganouche, was so heavenly. Thank you JJ for...a wonderful meal.More
We had a lovely meal at the Canon Beach Bistro. Our server was so friendly and the food was very tasty. We had the home made linguine and the King Salmon special. Both were excellent. The only negative was that I forgot to ask the...price of the Salmon. It was very speedy and I would have picked something else if I had know the price. The desert was different and a perfect ending to the meal.More
I wouldn't mind paying the price if the food was delicious. I thought the food was mediocre. Starting our meals off with the chowder and the crab cakes we were disappointed from the start. They both lacked in taste and presentation. The pork chops were nice...and tender but didn't make up for the rest.More
Sauces that make your mouth and brain expand. We always have whatever special Jack has prepared for the evening and sit in awe of the layered and complex flavors he creates. The steelhead is the best I’ve ever tasted! Friendly and attentive staff, live music...often and a great bar to catch a game with a delicious cocktail. Not to be missed!More
Admittedly, the Bistro was our second choice for the evening, as Sweet Basil's was full with an hour+ wait time (even at 5:00!). We had no reservations, but found space at the bar. This was a perfect place to sit to watch the bartender's artistry,...and their cosmos are amazing. It was also a really friendly place with a mix of locals and tourists, so it was a chatty, warm atmosphere.
Atmosphere trumped food, however. My friend ordered seafood fettuccini, and he was really disappointed, describing his dish as "Bertolli Alfredo." I ordered the ahi, which was ordinary, at best. For the quality, it was overpriced: a ho hum restaurant trying to compete in a town with some really great restaurants.More
We ate here based on recommendations of this site and a few other local people. Service was fast and friendly and our bartender was a wealth of information about the local area. Our meals, however, were not as expected. My cioppino was so-so, with approximately...half of the mussels not opening up. My dinner partner's chicken meatball sandwich was good and had decent flavor, but the roll was too big for the meatballs which made it difficult to eat.
We would have to eat here again to give it a fair shot since there were some interesting dishes on the menu.More
Homemade linguini was the best I’ve had in years. Crab cakes and salad were also very good. This place is on the expensive side but the food and service are wonderful and they offer a nice Happy Hour 4:30-6:00, as well as live music during...dinner hours. Highly recommend.More
