A must visit in our opinion in Cannon Beach- such a small nice classy but understated and casual place. The owners/servers are so nice and friendly and the food is unique and different.

Castaway's chef is adventurous, creative,, and extraordinary. His lobster bisque was so rich and flavorful. I moaned with pleasure with every spoonful. Then I had pork in red curry containing blueberries, mango, pineapple, mushrooms, onions, broccoli. So many taste sensations to delight and light light...up the tongue with every mouthful. Oh, oh, I ate so much good food tonight that I didn't have room for the desserts that sounded just as amazing. And I'm leaving tomorrow...More

Dinner was tasty but not outstanding. Service was normal and nothing special. Menu was eclectic but the seafood pasta did not have much seafood in it.

We were looking for something unique and this restaurant fit the bill! Great menu variety, excellent and moderately priced wine list and great ambiance and service. Will be back next visit!

Others have raved about the food, but faulted the service at Castaways. We found that it took a while to prepare our dinner, but it was worth every second. It is one of a handful of American restaurants we've been to in the entire country...that offers "original" food that is as nicely plated as cooked. Indeed, it was like eating for the first time: "Ah, so this is what food should taste like?" Even a chicken skewer appetizer soared with the accompanying sauces. We have dinner at Castaways twice a year when we visit Cannon Beach. It’s the food highlight of each vacation. They pay attention to what’s fresh and available, and vary the menu. Great cocktails and desserts too.

Wow! What an absolutely incredible meal! Probably one of the best meals I’ve had all year. Everything was delightful and prepared to perfection. I had the jumbo shrimp and also the potato appetizer while my husband had the pork dish. The food was amazing, wonderful...ambiance and we even met the chef who asked how our meal was. SO glad we found this place- originally we thought it was part of Public Coast Brewing as it's so close, but it's a separate small and really delicious and welcoming restaurant. We are so glad we chose to come here--- it has plates that have...a unique and spicy twist. Be careful- if it says it's spicy, it is! We had to order extra rice for one dish to reduce the spice level (but in fairness we were warned by the waitress!) The service here really stood out- it had a nice almost family feel to it as it was so small and all the people were SO friendly. The chef even came out at the end and was so gracious. Went here for dinner. Ordered filet mignon asked for it to be well done. Butterflied is fine. Waiter Collin said they can’t do that it’s a good cut of meat. Basically I either order it how they want or get something else. We left instead....With his rudeness and refusal to serve me how I ask it there is no reason to spend 36$ on a piece of meat to not be cooked to my preference.More

Castaways is a small restaurant with creative and delicious food. I had the Louisiana Mop entree and it was spicy and flavorful. Portions are generous and service was attentive and friendly. There are only a few tables, and you need to call the day of...in order to secure a reservation. However, if you make the effort you will be rewarded with a great dining experience. I found most restaurants in and around Cannon Beach to be good but not great. Castaways is great. Highly recommended!More

Had lunch today and though they were very busy the staff was courteous, pleasant and all in good spirits. The food was delicious and we will definitely be visiting again. Thank you also for the extra time the staff is putting in by making sure...everything is sanitized.More
