We loved our food and our waitress, Terry, was amazing! We will definitely be back (maybe this weekend!) and will recommend this place. It was clean and the staff was friendly.

I grew up in town and have always been so impressed with the portion size and quality of food for decades that Jake's Diner in known for. It's like the breakfast place you brag about to visitors that come to town and you can't wait...to watch their faces when they get their plate(s) of food sat in front of them for the first time. Just awesome and so delicious. So many smiles of delight if you look around the room. Thanks for being such a staple restaurant in our community!More

Very friendly staff. We had a late lunch and the waitress took good care of us. The food came out quickly and was well prepared. The senior's Cheeseburger was delicious.

I had the Cobb salad which was so very good! Hubby had the hot turkey sandwhich, the mashed potatoes had a sour taste, not appetizing, at all. Do you use sour cream to make your potatoes creamy? Other diners with us had fish and chips...and thighs and cole slaw. Everyone was happy with their meal except Hubby's taters.More

Had breakfast there with two friends. Portions are huge. One friend ordered off the Sr Menu (it was still more than many restaurants). The biscuit was great but it looked like a small loaf of bread. The other ordered a small omelette and we boxed...up over half. I had three eggs sunnyside up and hashbrowns on top. It could easily have taken six eggs to cover all those spuds. Everything was cooked just right, tasted great. The service was friendly and quick given the number of people in the place. The place is bigger than it looks so don't be spooked if the lot is full. We waited maybe 15 minutes this morning. The restaurant sits behind another restaurant so you could miss it. My understanding is that it was originally a truck stop with a huge following that moved to this location.More

Huge servings of great stuff. Very good staff. Near Costco behind the car dealer. Also not far from the butte with the overlook.

My lady had the California Omelet and I had the Dad Stack. Old school home style cooking and it was large portions and reasonable price. The service was good and prompt.

The food is delicious and the portions are huge. Expect a parade of morbidly obese patrons when you visit ... the word is out about the portions. They used to make the most delicious home made pies for sale. They have apparently ceased dinner service...and the pies weren't selling for take home to the breakfast and lunch bunch. A pity.More

Stopped here with our Motorhome. We were really hungry when we left the RV Park in Burns and found that there was no place to eat until we reached Bend and then didn’t look like there was a place to park our MH until we...saw Jake’s. So glad we saw this diner because the food was excellent, the service was very pleasant, and the portions were so large, we walked out with enough leftovers for dinner. We had a buffalo chicken salad, steak and eggs, and a bacon, cheese, and mushroom omelette. We all gave a big thumbs up. As we were paying, they had huge cookies and brownies for $2 each, so we bought enough for a snack later on or for breakfast with coffee in the morning. If they are anything like the meal we just had, we will have another smile and big thumbs up.More

Good question. Easy answer would be to say no, but it could've easily been the diner attached to a gas station a few decades ago.
