We were looking forward to eating at this restaurant during our stay in Bandon, but it did not live up to our expectations. When we arrived and entered, we were “pounced on” quite aggressively by the host and ordered to wear a mask. I have...no problem with this, but have to point out that by the time my mask was attached we were already seated at our table, when it was removed. I felt aggrieved that there was no welcome by the staff and more aggrieved that later, other customers arrived and were not treated in this manner, no one asked them to put on a mask! This made us feel like lepers. Following our arrival, we both ordered a main course dish. From our arrival to the dishes being served took an hour. We are British, we don’t mind waiting, but AN HOUR? No word of explanation, or apology. The food was good, but overpriced, we are foodies, we know. Overall a great disappointment, we had expected much more from the reviews and from the service. The musician, performing at the venue was the only highlight of the evening.More

The food lived up to the stellar reviews but this was not a five-star experience. The servers were very nice but seemed uncomfortable with questions, almost like they knew they would get in trouble if they brought a question back to the kitchen. Also kind...of annoying that they automatically charge a 3% fee for using a credit card and apply it to the bill without telling you. Then they take it off the bill if you see it and decide to pay cash. Also was surprised when we booked the reservation they said they charge $25 per person for no shows. Four people out of our six-person reservation were on a flight that was canceled and they couldn't make it in time dinner. When we called the day before to explain the situation they told us they would charge us $35 a person. When we asked if they could change the reservation to another day, luckily they were able to accommodate us and we ended up not getting charged the extra fee and we appreciated that very much. Still would recommend this restaurant but they have some service issues to work on. Food was excellent!More

My husband and I ate here last year when we were staying at the Bandon Inn. At that time, they were still under strict covid restrictions and you could only order food to go. Not a problem at all. We both ordered 2 small Caesar...salads and the Halibut w/ Risotto and Broccolini. All of the food was amazing. The fish was perfectly cooked and flaked easily w/ a fork. The risotto had a good flavor and was perfectly cooked as well. We also ordered the Limencello Panna Cotta, but forgot to take a picture of it. It was crazy good! The lady who helped us came across as a little standoffish at first, but then warmed up a lot as we were placing our order. The food came out in an appropriate amount of time and was nice and hot when we got back to our room (we walked there, as it was a short distance from our hotel). We will definitely be back!More

We dined at Alloro on a Saturday evening and enjoyed not only the food and service, but also the harpist/guitarist. We were were staying at nearby Bandon Inn, only a walk away, which made Alloro all the more attractive. As the other reviews attest, this...is a quality setting amongst a more informal town. No need to dress up, but expect memorable dining options, wine and cocktails, too.More

Stumbled upon this quaint little place - intrigued by the "wine bar" at first because we weren't all that hungry. Little did we know the food would outrank the wine - amazing smells and tastes! We ordered the Pasta Primavera with the best charred/sautéed vegetables...- incredible taste bud adventure. Hubs ordered the Shrimp Scampi. I've not been a fan of scampi as it's typically grilled shrimp in just butter (no flavor). The best Scampi I've ever had - delicious flavors! The homemade pasta with both dishes was incredible. The rosemary rolls were delicious, but we only ate one as we wanted to save every space available for the pasta dishes. I couldn't eat all mine, but hubs wouldn't leave without finishing. Great kudos to Chef Susan. Great table service. Highly recommend!!More

After reading reviews of this restaurant my husband and I decided to make reservations for dinner. Unfortunately we must have hit a bad night for the restaurant team. Our server let us know the rolls had not risen so there was no bread. We order...Cesar salad, they were good, Bolognese was good, pasta Primavera the vegetables were over charred so the only flavor that came through was that charred flavor. Diet soda was flat and had to make a second request for ordered lemon drop. Milk chocolate Panna Cotta was excellent. Ordered a cappuccino but they were unable to foam milk so ended up with a Latte.More

Disappointed in that the waitress disengaged. Many food selections not available. We had visited last year and it was perfect. Cold atmosphere as windows left open.

My husband, Christian, and I had a meal of a lifetime at your restaurant in early April. We have had the pleasure of some wonderful meals over the years, but your Bolognese and your Scampi were out of this world. We pride ourselves on our...Marchella Hazan inspired Bolognese, but yours had a depth of flavor that made us wonder, "How did she do it?" The same thought came to mind when I tasted the Scampi. It tasted butter poached, not just sauteed. The flavors and presentation were exceptional. It was our first trip to Bandon and to Alloro and there will be many more at your fine restaurant. We felt so at home in the space and your staff was very professional yet approachable. We sat in the front room with just a few other diners (due to Covid restrictions at the time, fortunately no more!) and enjoyed every bite. The bartender/server made such perfect wine recommendations to pair with our supper. Our chef friends in the Napa Valley will be jealous when we tell them that your meal was one of the best Italian meals we have ever enjoyed. We know that you are very popular but we can't wait to try the entire menu on our next trip to Bandon. The chef/owner Susan truly has a gift!More

A truly outstanding meal. I had the grilled halibut with carmelized onion/mushroom risotto and it was as good as anything I have ever had. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. The risotto was unique and excellent. Caesar salad was also good.

Ordered take out recently. Outstanding food. The scampi pasta with house made noodles was the best I’ve had (even compared to SF and NYC restaurants). The chocolate flight dessert was divine. The only downside is that their online ordering is difficult to navigate and the...wait staff doesn’t check the online orders and so when I showed up to pick up my dinner, the hostess hadn’t even checked the computer. They also don’t answer their phone so I couldn’t even confirm the online order. 5 stars plus for food and 1 star for the online ordering system.More

Due to COVID we have been getting food from here delivered, we haven’t eaten in their restaurant yet. So having said that, wow. I am left more and more impressed with this restaurant with each meal we get. I have ordered here about 10 times...now and I have consistently loved and been left very satisfied!! It’s the quality of the food, the freshness of every ingredient they use, the presentation of the dishes(yes in a to-go container they impress me with certain dishes), the seasonal selection. To me this restaurant puts out 5 star meals and that is something I wasn’t expecting from getting them delivered. Which is why I can’t wait to be able to enjoy them in their actual restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant and I do think they have a dish for whatever you are craving. This has turned into my favorite and go to restaurant and while it is not on the cheap end, you will know why. Being a local I feel very lucky to have this in my town and I can’t wait for my next meal here, probably in three days :)More

We ordered our Christmas Eve dinner here. It was all delicious! They somehow didn't see our order so it wasn't ready when my daughter went to pick it up, but they gave us a panna cotta dessert to make up for her wait. My Brussels...sprout and mushroom pasta was honestly amazing - I didn't know B. sprouts could even taste like that. My husband's scampi over pasta was delicious, as were my daughter's fish and wild rice and her bf's Dungeness crab Alfredo. It's not cheap, but worth a splurge dinner.More
