Typical self-serve Mexican restaurant without reliable chips/salsa appetizer (if you are looking for that, find one of the chains) although they sometimes bring some to you if there is a delay in getting your order prepared. They have a good number of specials. They may...have the best enchiladas in town, with the tortillas soaked in a delightful red sauce. Tortas, huaraches (an elongated sope, to me), and street-type tacos are all good. The pollo guisado (spicy chicken) is a unique option, and like-minded eaters can get a host of traditional meats including cabeza and tripe. Their carnitas are probably the best, and most reliably yummy, meat. They do an intriguing take on nachos - tasty without using ladles of cheese sauce on top. An off-menu option, available occasionally, is rajas y queso - grilled peppers + onions and cheese. It is particularly wonderful if they have homemade tortillas (rarity, unfortunately). A nice vegetarian option (or Lent option) as is the chili rellenos. I stop in the warmer months after I play softball at the nearby complex. They are friendly and portions are generous enough to fill me up. Drawbacks: everything is cooked on a single grill. I have a sensitivity to beef products and if the grill isn't scraped thoroughly, or there is carne asada cooking at the same time my meal is being cooked, I often have some discomfort a few hours after I eat. To be fair - I have never asked about it, so that is not a negative, just a feature. They only use styofoam cups and plates; I prefer to not be so environmentally shoddy. And, they routinely are out of Dr. Pepper, my go-to soft drink since they do not make brewed ice tea (they have "iced tea" but it is some bastardization of the tea served in a sit-down restaurant).More

Don Francisco’s is great for weekend late night eats. Authentic Mexican tacos and burritos like I grew up eating in California. Never disappoints . Place can get a little sketchy late at night. Take a friend and be aware of your surroundings. I’ve never personally...had any issue, but I have never felt completely safe here either. I order and get my food to go quickly. Worth the effort.More

We ordered pork, steak, chicken, and tongue tacos. My favorite was the steak. These are street tacos with cilantro, onions, and salsa! Beware the salsa had a kick! We also ordered queso and chips. We’ll be back.

We picked up food recently at Tacos Don Francisco. Out of 5 people, one person liked it a lot, 2 thought it was okay, and the other 2 did not like it at all. I have to say they had the spiciest guacamole I have...ever eaten.More

Tacos Don Francisco is my favorite Taco shop that I have ever been to! Their tacos are genuinely street style! Anytime I am in Tulsa, I try to go here at least twice because there is truly no place like it!!

Seriously the best lunch ever! Saw a review on Facebook and since I was going to be in town I decided we would check it out. Don’t let the outside stop you from going in, it’s all about the yummy, inexpensive food. I had 2...tacos and a Gordita, friend had a huge chicken quesadilla. Be sure to get the cheese dip! Will be back!!More

Don't expect your typical American style Mexican food. This is not that. It is very affordable and offers a small seating area. Service was slow but very friendly. When we visited there was a line to order our food and the air conditioning didn't seem...to be working well. So it wasn't the most relaxing dining experience. The food was good and fresh. Price was only $7.50 for entree and cheaper options were available. The food was a little bland and the beans and rice were mediocre but nothing was bad. Go there because you are looking for something different and maybe kick up the spice!More

I was looking for some great tasting authentic Tex Mex Fajitas and boy did I find it. I placed my order by phone and went and picked it up. They were very nice. Great Price. Excellent Salsa, Beans and Rice were both great. Will definitely...return.More

I went here on the recommendation of a couple of my Mexican-American friends. The ladies that are cooking in the kitchen here are extremely kind and high energy, however, the food is just mediocre. The enchiladas I had were pretty good, but the refried bean...slope and rice on the side were pretty terrifying to look at, though they tasted alright. What surprised me was that around like 7 or 8pm the little place was packed full of people. For about $12, I would have rather just gone to taco bell and gotten a taco box if I was really set on drowning in calories. I would go here again. But it's hardly worth the price.More

My daughter, a friend and I visited Tacos Don Francisco on a recent Friday for lunch. The restaurant is very small and was crowded; however, we scored a table shortly after placing our orders. I chose three beef tacos and the others chose the chicken...quesadillas. We also ordered a bowl of queso with homemade chips. The queso and chips were delicious and everything was freshly made and warm. Our entrees were ready in just a matter of minutes. My tacos were delicious with just the right about of spices on the meat and fresh cilantro, onions and salsa. The quesadillas has just the right blend of chicken, cheese and salsa and the portion size was huge! Tacos Don Francisco is truly a hole in the wall with a limited amount of seating, order at the counter service with a fairly large menu. I've heard about this place for years and I'm very glad I finally went here to eat. Will definitely return to try enchiladas, tamales and other types of tacos!More

Great tacos and service. It's small and best as a takeout joint as it's cramps inside. Several styles of glass bottle drinks available.

Well..the salsa wasn't spicy AT ALL so its not the real Mexican deal.. To be honest, I thought i put ketchup on my tacos, so i got up and asked for salsa PICANTE and they gave me more Ketchup and to my surprised the ketchup...was La Salsa for my tacos. The steak was okay and the staff was friendly but as I said Salsa is so important when it comes to tacos that I wouldn't come back to this place.More

Real Mexican food, not for Tex-mex fans as in 90% of "Mexican" restaurants in town. Trust me I grew up in Mexico. I have tried a few taco trucks and stuff in town and so far this one is my favorite. There may be better...though, I haven't sampled enough yet to be 100% I eat here frequently, I've had all their tacos and the best are carnitas, lengua and tripa, the rest are mediocre at best. Their home-style Mexican dishes such as bistec ranchero are also delicious. Their horchata is good but could be better. The food is a 5 rating, but the rundown feel and lack of general cleanliness really hurt the rating. Plenty of people I know and myself can vouch for never having gotten sick, so their kitchen must be tidy. They are open until really late so that taco craving in the middle of the night can be satisfied. Unless you like rowdy or are taking it home though avoid Friday nights.More

I have been several times in this place, and it is not the nicer restaurant, but the food is pretty. 100% recommended if you like real Mexican food.
