We had a 6pm reservation and arrived at 5:35 they said we would have to wait until closer to our reservation time for a table to be available and asked us if we wanted to sit at bar to wait which we did. My husband...ordered Vegas bomb which he loved. I ordered a pina colada which unfortunately bartender put a lot of lime juice in it and I hate limes. Never experienced limes juice in a piña colada before. At 6:05 host comes and takes us to a booth in “lovers lane” very dark and private.. elegant. But booths were extremely tight and I could barely fit my husband could not. After arriving and looking at us for 30 minutes why would you walk us looong walk to back restaurant knowing we wouldn’t fit at that booth. I said a table please. Host goes all way back up front to host station and now takes us to a table and she says oh it’s dirty. Instead of cleaning it we go all way back to host stand and third time is the charm we are sat at a table in front dining room next to another table. Our table had been empty since we arrived at 5:35 but maybe we had to wait on the kitchen not a table. We were less than 6 feet from other table and those 3 ladies were very distracting. FaceTiming their children, talking about dentist and their gums. It sucked. Especially being in bright lit “lunch” style date dining room after just seeing lovers lane. They should have small tables back there or wish host hadn’t taken us there in first place because now I’m disappointed with table we received. But moving on. Waiter Spencer said he was new but was great and you couldn’t tell he was new. It was our first time here. He was very knowledgeable about everything! We ordered the 4 courses and the cheese came with bread, broccoli, carrots, celery, and apples. Surprising apples were good with cheese! The cheese was to cold for my liking but eventually warmed up. Next we got our salads which were very dry almost no dressing. Next entrees we ordered one steak lovers and one classic. Very impressed, plenty of meat. We cooked them on the grill..they give you a choice of cooking type. Came with asparagus, mushrooms, zucchini and 5 dipping sauces waiter explains. Spencer was great! And last we got the chocolate fondue which came with strawberries, blondies, brownies, Rice Krispies, pound cake, waffles, pineapples, bananas, and Oreo dusted marshmallows. The chocolate was to hot and burnt my tongue. I’m guessing our hot plate had a long time since cold cheese to warm and I believe waiter should have turned it down. The chocolate was amazing and I’m not a dipped chocolate kind of person (at least not at Golden Corral blech). So so so good! I would return just for dessert anytime. I had 2 berry basil lemonade drinks during dinner which were also a hit. Loved. I recommend trying melting pot and ordering 4 courses at least once and then just returning for cheese fondue and dessert fondue.More
