I was quite surprised by this restaurant, it came recommended and I had to try it out. The food we ordered was excellent, fresh, and a large order. My guide line for good Chinese is always the shrimp and the shrimp with Chinese vegetables was very good. Only drawbacks was when ordering the young ladies English was not so good and very hard to understand. The delivery took over an hour but when it arrived is was still hot, think they might have forgot our order till I called back. It was still worth the wait.

Not so good

Inconsistency is still a problem at China House although it has changed ownership from brother to sister. We ordered four different meals with mixed results. The chicken lo mein was tasteless, mushy, and had very little chicken. The beef with snow peas was fine but the General Tso's chicken tasted like the chicken had been shredded and then packed together to form a ball. It had a strange texture. The sauce was on the sweet side with little heat. The spring rolls remain the highlight being non-greasy and packed with veggies. Portion sizes are large and prices are average for this type of carry out establishment. It's annoying not knowing what the food quality will be as sometimes it's very good and other times, not so much.

My eyes are squinting, just thinkn about the spicy smells, of a plate of rice, with so I and duck, tajes me back ti the yesteryears, no not beavers and duck, U Bandits lovers, u meat lovers, but duck sause and soy minced 2 gether on a rice bedded plate, Styrofoam plate heaven for u chinese food adorners. You get it like me. Uhuh.

We have dinner delivered from here at least twice a month, I love having the option of delivery. The food is always good and fresh. I like egg in my rice and they are always willing to accommodate me. Prices are great too! Highly recommend!

My husband and I order out from China House when we visit our kids who live in OKCity. Our experiences have been very mixed. Last week was an example. Several meals had lots of chicken and veggies, and others, very little. Portion sizes are consistently very large and the Spring rolls are not greasy and flavorful. If you like spicy food, China House is on the mellow side even when marked spicy. The Singapore Noodles seem to be the hottest. An abundance of fortune cookies, mustard, and soy sauce are included. Prices are very reasonable. There is usually a woman at the register who yells loudly at employees in Chinese, Very unsettling but we're used to it by now. Quality control is an issue, but when the food is good, it is very good.

Finally!

Moved to surrey 2 years ago and have been looking for a good Chinese takeout place or just good Chinese period...jist so happend upon this place a few weeks ago and I cannot sing the praises of this place LOUD enough everything has such amazing flavor that I didn't feel the need to season it in any other extra way including soy sauce or salt the portions are huge and amazing I feed my family of four me hubby and a hungry hungry 3 and 8 year old on 1 large chicken low mein and a large swt/sour chicken 1 leg rice and there's still enough left for me to have lunch twice after that!and it's super budget friendly...i have found a haven for my cravings I will be sending everyone I know this way and they deliver to surrey hills...nobody likes to do that because we are in a weird out of the way area between okc and Yukon and they never take more than 20 mins to bring our order even when they quote 40 at dinner rush! P.s. family owned and run love giving my $ to small business!

We ordered delivery from here and was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and fresh. I really liked their hot and sour soup which it's hard for me to find it where I like it. Highly recommend!

Decline in Quality

We last ordered food from China House in 2015 and were impressed. This time, not so much. Portions are still huge and there is an option of small or large.Prices are reasonable and the menu is huge. However, quality seems to have suffered a bit. Our chicken lo mein had scant chicken and was bland. The Mongolian chicken wasn't very spicey and there wasn't much chicken or veggies. The spring rolls were just ok but at least they weren't greasy. Meals come with an enormous amount of rice which was packed tight and got sticky. All in all, it wasn't bad, just not above average. The woman who works behind the counter (owner?) continues to yell at the young girl who translates for her. Disappointed.

Very Good Take-out

We've gotten take-out from China House several times when we visit family in Oklahoma City. The menu is typical and extensive. There are many different types of noodle dishes which are our favorites. Half orders are available for many of the offerings and portions are large. We have found the vegetables cooked crisp and the chicken/shrimp tender. The "spicey" dishes really aren't that spicey but very flavorful. Rice is the sticky kind. We ordered a couple of fried dishes and were pleased that they were not at all greasy. The Spring rolls were a bit on the bland side. Prices are very reasonable and orders are ready within 10-15 minutes of placing them. We'll continue to enjoy China House when we visit and wish that we had something comparable close to our home.
