This manager just because we didn’t look like we had money he thought we were going to skip out on paying the ticket. My husband left a tip pretty good tip. I wouldn’t recommend if you don’t look the part. I was so upset. Don’t...go here!More
Our waiter (Aaron?) was fantastic, probably the best waiter I’ve ever seen. The food was very good but I’ve never paid $30 for a bowl of pasta before and doubt I ever will again, and that was the least expensive entree. It had a great...flavor, but not $30 great. Some people might say the food is worth the price, but I think some say it’s good just because it’s expensive. We had a really nice evening, though.More
Average here means "good".
In a couple of visits to the OK city area we went to three of the top steakhouses (and no doubt will cover more as we go along); "Red", "cattlemen's" and "The Ranch". I have to say Cattlemen's is my favorite...so far, not only because of the beef, but for its working class aspect (opens at 0600!), But thus establishment in Norman is also good.
Of course, with "the ranch", we're getting into more of a business atmosphere, no jeans, that kind of thing.
On this visit three of us had a 14 oz ribeye and a 14 oz strip, with blue cheese, glace, and garlic/whiskey sauces, and the steaks and the sauces were great.
I would hope for a somewhat expanded selection of entrees in the future, adding in a prime rib and hanger steak. The more selection, the better.
We also had a fried calamari appetizer, which could have been crispier (perhaps oil not hot enough).
Not the most important thing, but it is also worth mentioning that the three of us had a similar dinner at Cattlemen's which was about $100 less.
3 for dinner, with tip, about $230.
But still, good meal!
Beautiful and very elegant restaurant, Brooklyn was simply amazing. The best steaks in Oklahoma, hot plate with melted butter, YUM! No manager ever visited, to tell, maybe next time. Thank Ranch for a wonderful memory.
The hostess could use a few more “people skills”. She hinted to my husband and I that we could be seated on the bar side; when the dining area had 3 tables occupied. I requested to be seated not in the bar. (Apparently we didn’t...meet her “status/appearance” qualifications). After passing the COVID-19 screening the hostess proceeded to seat us directly between two occupied booths while leaving the rest of the dining area tables unoccupied. In a social distancing world, this made no sense to me. Why go to the bother of Covid-19 screening if you aren’t going to attempt social distancing with your guests as well? Maybe they are unaware of the complete Covid-19 protocols??
Once we were able to escape the rude hostess, the rest of our experience was great. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious! Our meal cost $150 which we had expected. You get what you pay for and in this instance we were satisfied with our meal and happy to pay for it.More
Pros: The service from our waiter was excellent. The wine list was extensive. The food and atmosphere was very good.
Cons: very overpriced for what you get. The food was good but not for the price. There are many other restaurants that have just as...good if not better food that is less expensive. The wine was also excessively priced.
I won’t go back. Not worth the price.More
We have eaten here numerous times with fantastic steak and service on every single occasion. This is our go-to for a nice meal or fun evening with friends. Their brandy ice is a great finale to any meal. Can't recommend The Ranch enough!
Decided to try this place one evening while in the area. We had heard good things about it. Walked in and it was almost empty. We were asked if we had a reservation. We said no. The hostess said she would have to speak to...a manager. What? It's not like we were in the typical Oklahoma uniform of t-shirt and shorts. The manager came over and said we could be seated. Food was average at best and you have to pay for everything. Much better steakhouses in OKC.More
Excellent food. Superb service. Not to be missed! Safety precautions are first rate. Temp check, face coverings, health question and finally a wristband to confirm you were checked at the door. We sat outside and enjoyed a spacious table which ended up filled with delicious...appetizers (try the sampler) and melt in your mouth steak cooked to perfection. Too many fabulous choices for steak toppers. We let our well versed and comical server Rachel make the recommendations. She did not disappoint. Foodies would love this place! This was our first time there and we will definitely go back when we are in the area. Welcome to the South!!More
1st & last visit. Appetizer was tasty - calamari. Wedge salad was drowned in dressing. Steak was average at best, I expected better quality cut and taste. Sides were small portions even though served family style. Mac & cheese was highly touted by server, but...was overcooked and tough. Okra & onion rings were tasty. Dessert was good. Expected more based on establishments reputation, but was very disappointed. Three rating was a stretch.More
