Pretty disappointed with the Slap yo Mama Poboys. There was a good crunch but no flavor. Nothing to suggest Cajun..

Zac’s has quickly become one of our absolute favorite restaurants! There’s literally nothing bad on the menu, but the Shrimp and Grits, fried pickles, and Shrimp Zydeco are especially tasty. It is spicy, but you can ask that it be dialed back. Locally owned and...the owners are very heavily community-involved, too. Try it - you won’t be disappointed.More

Zac's is a new - only one week open - restaurant, serving Cajun food and some American (namely: Hamburgers and Chicken Strips). Hubby and I have looked forward to eating here since their sign was put up weeks before they actually opened... and we finally...made it there today for lunch. You order at the counter, take a seat, and they bring it out. I ordered the Shrimp Po'Boy, which comes with fries, and a side order of slaw for an additional $2.50. Hubby ordered Chicken Strips, which came with two sides; he ordered fries and hush puppies. We both got ice tea. It took about 15-20 minutes for it to make it to the table. Easiest first: the tea. It was brewed... but it wasn't Luzianne. I think I know the brand, which has always tasted like it was mixed with dust to me. Hubby proclaimed the chicken strips 'good'. The fries were seasoned... good taste. His were hot; mine were lukewarm. His hush puppies were 'average'. My shrimp po'boy was very good... the only thing that could have made it better was more of the remoulade sauce. My slaw was tasty; but the container was about half-full and the last few bites swam in watery dressing at the bottom. All in all... the food was good, but here's the kicker: our luncheon meal was $33 and pocket change, including tip. For that kind of money, Brent's Cajun Seafood & Oyster Bar in Edmond is a better deal. If I'm going to pay that much, I want the atmosphere that goes with it.More
