About
Royal Bavaria Brewery & Restaurant was founded November 20, 1992 by Jörg Kühne, a businessman from Munich, Germany. His idea was to bring the original Bavarian brewpub to Oklahoma with an authentic atmosphere, true Bavarian hospitality and the typical German cuisine, which has found so many friends all over the world.A 5.5 acre property was located very quickly and soon the project was approved by the City of Moore. In the southeast corner of the city at the 4-lane highway 77H (Sooner Road) the groundbreaking took place in August 1993. After the customary 5-week time had passed, according to an old custom, the topping out ceremony took place. The 8 bbl- brew house, supplied by HRH, Prince Luitpold of Bavaria, was integrated into the 5000-sqf building by the end of November.Early in January 1994, the executive chef Andy Gmeiner (also a native of Munich) arrived from Germany to supervise the complete installment of the kitchen. He then created the menu, hired and trained the staff. The Grand Opening of this beautiful brewpub in the style of a typical Bavarian farmhouse was celebrated January 28th, 1994 with an exquisite 7- course dinner of German specialties and 180 invited guests. In the beginning the brewery was operated by Bavarian Brew Masters. Starting in the summer of 1996, the famous beers of the Royal Bavaria have been brewed by Jörg & Karin Kühne. The outdoor beer garden, set in its huge tree shaded area that currently seats 175 people, was opened with a great festival in July 1994.Now in 2007, after 14 years under the lead of the founder, the corporation was turned over into the competent hands of Andy Gmeiner. As the new owner, his pledge is to continue to operate the Royal Bavaria, Restaurant & Brewery under the founder’s original idea through his knowledge and good spirit.

We have been going to this restaurant for many years and it never fails to impress! I am a Holsteiner Art or Ribeye steak kinda person and they are both outstanding! For a German cuisine restaurant, the steak will rival some of the best steaks in the OKC metro area! So, if you are ever in the area this is a must try!! It is off the main highways a couple of miles, but definitely worth the detour so to speak!! If you like beer, they brew some of their own and the Oktoberfest is a fav!!! Prost!!

We had the Bayrischer Schweinebraten, Jaegerchnitzel, Schnitzel Holsteiner Art and the Bayrischer Brotzeitbrett'l mit Emmentaler. All of it was very good ! I am German and all the decorations and German Music make me vey homesick. We have not been in the Biergarten yet but we will next year. The Dunkel Weizen was flat. It did not have any Bubbles like we are used to !

For a German restaurant in the middle of Oklahoma, this was not bad. I had the sauerbraten and it was very tender. No need for a knife. The red cabbage was very good since it was not overly sweet. The spatzle was very good. I had the Cream Strudel and it was very good, not too sweet. The Weizen beer came out of a dirty line. The beer lines need to be cleaned. Overall, a good experience. Service was great even though in COVID. I would go again.

Yick. Unhealthy and tasteless. The food is a great big pile of sticky, gross tastelessness with occasional sharp, too tart flavors. I lived in Berlin for five years, and know great German food. This isn't great German food. The noodles are too sticky and taste like a bland pile of gluten, and thank god I asked for a piece of chicken with it to get a bit of protein. But the chicken was rubbery and had this weird aftertaste. My husband got pork that was rolled in crumbs and fried. His was so tough that he couldn't eat it. My husband even ordered a gravy to try to redeem his meal, a Hunter's gravy. It has mushrooms and a beef broth base, but there was an unappealing flavor to it. Meanwhile , the German potato salad was not tart enough, so the food that was supposed to be tart was too tart, and everything else was basically tasteless. I don't understand why anyone would give this place a good review, except perhaps they haven't tasted German food in Germany. We were very disappointed. And we're not whiners. We're really supportive of independent businesses. But we won't be returning. This was just completely dissatisfying food. There was n flavor that held any appeal at all. We ordered a chocolate layered cake dessert thing. Mushy, bitter. No thanks. We completely wasted our time and money. Sorry to the sweet waitress and floor manager, but you were the sole positive of an incredibly sucky meal. And what's with all of the chipped plates? Three out that of five officers our plates looked like they were dug out of a landfill. See pix, if not can post some.

The food is tasteless, starchy, mediocre. Don't waste your cash or time. Even the desserts are bland. The plates come to you beat up and chipped, with a mess of tasteless noodles. The gravies taste weird. Worst German food I've ever tasted. Do disappointed I wasted my time. And the German music is irritating.

We seek out German restaurants when we travel, so were very excited that a Google search came up with one in the Oklahoma City area, and the online menu listed sauerbraten, my favorite! Alas, when we got our menus, no sauerbraten. Our server explained they had recently revised the menu and no longer had it. I settled for the schweinebraten, which was tender, and the brown beer gravy was tasty, but a litte bland (possibly because I was craving the tang of sauerbraten). The German potato salad was ok, but again bland and not as tangy as I like it. The red cabbage was a bright spot however, and was the best I've ever had. My husband ordered the mixed grill platter... horrible! The meat was tastelese and was VERY overcooked... dry & tough to the point he couldn't eat it. Our server apologized & said the cook on the grill was new to it & sometimes the food didn't come out very well. He should have sent it back, as no offer was made for a different menu item or an adjustment to the bill. We ordered dessert (cream strudel) to take back to the hotel, since my husband had eaten very little of his meal. Dissapointent again. The top of the strudel layer was practically burnt and it wasn't flaky at all, while the inside was barely done. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Always on the lookout for good German food, this isn't it. Don't see why all the glowing recommendations. I ordered the Rouladen, waitress looked at me quizically and then she said, oh the beef roll. It was tough and unedible. The noodles were obviously out of a box. Come on German restaurant, you don't serve noodles you serve spaetzle. I don't think many of the people who gave glowing reviews have ever eaten German food in Germany. The only good thing was the Spetzi. Went to buy mustard but it had an expired date. Won't be back. And the bill was $62 with no alcohol or dessert!

We had a great dinner here. We actually tried coming here a couple of weeks ago but they were so busy they had to turn us away, so we made sure to make a reservation. It was definitely worth it. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was friendly and helpful, and the food was outstanding. The food reminded me of the dishes my German mom would make. Highly recommend the pretzel appetizer and the jagerschnitzel. The location is a bit outside of town, but it’s so worth the little extra drive once you find it. So cool to see an authentic German restaurant in the middle of central Oklahoma. We’ll definitely be back.

Amazing food and drinks. Highly recommend. We used to go here often and returned with family to hang out and enjoy catching up over dinner. We all loved the sausages and pretzels along with bread basket appetizers. Was a fund place for the whole family and all of us left happy and full. I highly recommend.

drove 45 minutes to get dinner with my girlfriend because i had this place before and it was okay. once we showed up at 7:40pm they would not sit us because they “ran out” of ticket time. over an hour of driving and still going to be hungry. all because they didn’t want to sit 2 more people? there was only about 8 tables and they most of them had their food. very disappointed, would NOT recomend if you are hungry that night.

The Royal Bavaria has good beer. I recommend the kings wiesen. The food is interesting. Pretzel rolls And schnitzel are very good. But somethings are just interesting. In the summer they have a nice beer garden with live music.
