I have driven by Ann’s for months before finally stopping in. It’s unassuming exterior made me not even know what it was. Maybe a grocery store or market, maybe a bakery. Well I finally stopped in and was pleasantly surprised! The service is warm and...the food is delicious. I have been several times since my first visit and it’s always packed with locals. I just enjoy being here.More

This place was a legend back in the 70s and 80s. Known for the variety of country cooking with several combinations of dishes, vegetables, and homemade style pies. My visit this week was met with a 10 min wait before the waitress approached our table...to take an order. It was slow and there were only three tables occupied. But there were 5-7 employees. Why did they make us wait so long? The order was cooked and served promptly. From that point it was a competition between us and the flies to see who would consume the food. I counted 8 flies within 6 feet of our table. We had to eat fast while swatting the flies. My burger was good but there was a fly that drowned in my drink. The homemade bread still lacks any luster/flavor. Sorry, but this place is doomed for failure.More

I had a really good Philly cheese steak sandwich (really big and I asked for my onions to be really well cooked which they were) . My husband had the ham dinner but the mashed potatoes were very runny. Not sure if it was because...we stopped at a very slow time in this restaurant. Wait staff were very friendly.More

The words "country kitchen" are often a good sign and this is no exception. It looks like a run-down shack, but all the cars (and trucks) parked outside mean the food is worth the trip. The chicken fried streak sandwich was excellent as were the...onion rings and chocolate pie. None of us had a complaint, except maybe to offer some fruit pies.More

We decided to take a chance and drive about 15 minutes outside Lawton to eat a late breakfast here. It’s a little string of dumpy shacks combined for a restaurant and kitchen. On first glance the building is dilapidated and junky and inside isn’t much...better. The inside is dirty and bathroom falling apart and grimy. Dirty dishes are placed next to tables where you eat and everything needs cleaned. At the time of our visit 3 people were working. 1 cook and 2 waitresses. It took 20 minutes to get a drink order and 30 to get them. Waitresses were bussing tables, going back to help cook, taking payments, in addition to their waitress duties. We walked in and the place was either full or had dirty dishes on empty tables. It’s clearly a management problem. We told the waitress not to worry about the delays as it wasn’t her fault. They were working hard. The only redemption here is the food is great. Biscuits are delicious and the size of a soup bowl. Pancakes were fluffy and my omelette was flavorful and cooked to perfection. We took a huge cinnamon home as well. Also great. Surprisingly few choices for breakfast in Lawton so I would still recommend this place if they don’t get shut down by the inspectors.More

Was there this evening for dinner at 7p.m. Not busy, about a third of tables had customers. There was one young lady waiting on the tables. But the kitchen had 5-6 people busy talking. It took us 35 minutes to get our food after we...ordered. All the vegetables served were slightly warm. The hamburger steak was good. The black eyed peas tasted like vinegar was accidentally spilled in the batch. Hot rolls are normally provided with the meal, but not tonight. What a HUGE disappointment!More

We ate there after hiking Elk Mountain. Our hamburger and cheeseburger were delicious! The waitress was efficient and friendly. We’ve eaten there a few times after hiking and would definitely recommend it. I like their murals of the surrounding area also.

Friends talked me in to going there for lunch. For about the same price as a Jersey Mike's sub (which is what I was going to do for lunch) I got an excellent home-style meal. Everything was great from the green beans and country fried...steak to the always smiling wait staff. I highly recommend this place!More

Had a nice lunch here. The staff are super! Polite and very helpful - they were the stars. Had the chicken fried steak. It was average. Good breading and gravy but the steak was tough and not very flavorful. Also had frog legs which were...surprisingly fantastic! Tried the “homemade” cherry cheese pie. The most homemade part was the crust - which was good. The cherry filling was canned and the merengue was uninteresting.More

It seems this place is busy for the area, including people around the lake. We had to wait a about a minute to get a table cleaned off, no biggie. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders. Few minutes later we placed...our food orders. Our waitress never came back to refill our drinks, had to get up and let her know, also about my salad which never came. Our food came within reasonable time, it was hot, but wasn’t too good. Wife had the Indian taco which wasn’t good, but okay. Me and my friend had the hamburger steak with grilled onions and brown gravy, it was okay, gravy was good, mashed potatoes tasted instant, green beans was old style thick. My friends Mac & cheese was awful, he didn’t eat it. His wife had a hamburger patty it was cooked to her liking, again slow service, especially for a small diner. I would only eat here if in the area and hungry.More
