When we first arrived, we debated whether we should stay or not as it took quite a while for the host to stop playing on his phone and acknowledge us. His attitude when he did finally seat us left a lot to be desired. But the server and chef were both much better than the host and the food was terrific. The only negative is that they don't currently offer a lunch menu even though it is shown on the website so it ended up being a more expensive lunch than we would have liked.

This place has great hibachi!! The food is always delicious, the prices are more than fair, and the sitting at the hibachi tables are always fun. My only complaint is that there seems to be somewhat of a language barrier with a lot of the staff! Last time we weren’t seated at the hibachi because the hostess didn’t understand us, and tonight our server didn’t completely understand us (and vice versa). The food was amazing as always, though! The water does have a bit of an odd taste to it, but that may be normal for the area. I will definitely go back again and again!

We had a terrible experience tonight at Sawa. A 2 hour wait for our food, several other tables received food before we did. Then when we complained (after 2 hours) we were offered a measly 10% off our bill. Terrible and won’t be going there again.

We came here for a family lunch on Sunday. Our server tried so hard but it was obvious it was his first time preparing hibachi style food. Normally you can’t go wrong with hibachi style cooking!
One of the other families sitting with us had a seafood allergy and he didn’t seem to understand the need to totally separate the food to avoid having a reaction to her meal. She ran out to her car to get Benadryl because the point was not getting across well.
We also had to ask a couple of times to have him continue cooking our chicken as we were concerned about it not being done.
Not a lot of flavor for any of our food, our daughter had been here before with her family and said there were missing seasonings this time.
Since they were dinner prices instead of lunch, it made it an extremely expensive very blah meal.

Our server didn’t know about us for the first 15 minutes we were there. The host got our drink order which wasn’t her job but we appreciated someone paying attention. We ordered and got our salads to start but had no silverware or napkins. Bf had to go find some forks but still no napkins. A few minutes after we got our food the manager finally brought us some.
The food was very bland and my medium rare steak was blue rare (cooked on the outside but EXTREMELY raw on the inside). The veggies weren’t cooked.
Here was the kicker...bf went to the bathroom and watched a chef come out of the stall, and straight out the door. NO HAND WASHING.

We went here for a large family gathering and they were easily able to accommodate our 16 person group quickly. The food was amazing and the hibachi chefs had great personalities. They have some pink sauce they give for the hibachi food and I couldn't get enough of it! I already can't wait to go back again! The prices are reasonable for the hibachi as well (we all got hibachi). Make sure to go!

This review is about the Sushi section of the restaurant and not the Steakhouse side. We ordered Hamachi Kama (Fried Yellowtail Jaw), the Dancing Eel Roll, the Volcano Roll, the Avocado Salad, and the Beef Negi Maki. My wife thought the Hamachi Kama was because of the way it flaked, and the sauce that came with it was plain old Fish Sauce instead of Ponzu sauce (she used to work at a Japanese restaurant). But it was a big portion. The Avocado Salad was mostly lettuce. The Beef Negi Make was okay but the beef was on the tough side. The two Sushi rolls looked good but left a lot to be desired. They were mostly rice with little filling and not spicy (the Volcano Roll was supposed to be spicy).
The atmosphere was rather cold and uninviting, and the service was not that great. We had to ask for chop sticks and small plates to put our food on.

My dinning experience at sawa has been pretty great the food was tasty and well prepared our hibachi chef was hilarious. The only down side I could see is that a friend of mines wine glass was dirty and trying to get a new one was a hastle to say the least. Other than that it was great!

I am a quarter Japanese and I love eating Asian cuisine. We went to Sawa's twice in the past week. Friday for habachi and Wednesday for the regular menu. Habachi was great. I had the lobster/filet and my husband had chicken/steak. It was very good and the chef was quite entertaining. All in all a good meal but When we went back on Wednesday it was a fantastic meal. We started with appetizers of sashimi and shrimp tempura. Portion was huge. We could've easily made it our meal and it was delicious. He ordered chicken tempura dinner and I ordered sukiyaki for our entrees (see photo). Yum! The sukiyaki was basically a beef vegetables udon soup and not sukiyaki which was my only disappointment. We had so much leftover we ate it for dinner tonight.

My wife and I have been going to Sawa for years. We have always liked the food, but the service has a lot to be desired at times. The service has reached an all time low for us on our last visit. To start off our wonderful dining experience, the hostess was rude. Which I find hard to believe. Exactly how hard is it to do your your job when all it requires is to walk people to a table?! Anyway... After being seated in the new section by the sushi bar, we never got waited on and eventually walked out. And NO... they were not busy.

My wife friends and I go here every now and then and we have never had a bad experience. He always do the hibachi and yes some of the cooks are more entertaining that others but the food is always great. Salmon chicken shrimp scallops its all good. And the rice is amazing always order extra and make sure you use the yum yum sauce it make the meal twice as good. And the sushi rolls are always fresh and delicious. A must try

This is a typical Japanese hibachi place. I like the fresh hand made rolls and sushi here the best. I am not crazy about their plated meals. The rice is very good. The bar is ok. The service is always ok too.

Long time customer of sawa, and after the other night I will never go back! Rude waiters, Rudy, who was our waiter was completely rude and ignorant. Chef forgot my fiancé's chicken for the habachi, and he brought out a replacement dinner that wasnt even cooked all the way! Gross, rude, long wait, and disgusting...
