I planned a 50th Birthday party 6 months in advance . I booked a semi private room in the Mezzanine for New Year’s Eve. I was told it was no problem to come at 6:30 to decorate the room for our dinner at 7:30. I...booked the room in June. Never heard a word from anyone so I called the beginning of December. No one knew anything about it. Finally a manager, Brenda, asked if I had put a credit card deposit down and selected a menu. I told her no one had contacted me to do so. She sent me a menu and I selected 5 items. She also told me it was no problem to split my sisters family’s bill between myself and my other sister. On December 30th, the day before the party, I called to see if I could add 1 additional guest. Brenda, the manager handling my party was off but I was told it was no problem and she would be given the message. The next day, THE DAY OF MY PARTY, I called to speak with Brenda. She did not remember who I was or any details. Once she checked the computer she said “Oh yea, the party, 16 guests”. No, there were 19 guests so I corrected her. Then she told me she was glad I called because she never printed our menus. About 15min later she called me back to tell me since it was New Years Eve they had a limited menu and 1 item I selected WEEKS ago was not available on New Years. Mind you, the party was New Year’s Eve since the day I planned it. I asked why I wasn’t informed before party day and got no answer. She said they would have a few of that menu item available if I “really wanted it”. Yea, I really wanted it- that’s why I picked it. So, night of the party. Get there early with cake, sister from out of town, and decorations and am told there are people in that room so we can’t decorate until 7:15-7:30. I told the hostess that I had been assured we could go in the room early to decorate. Once again, no one knew anything about what I was talking about. The hostess was beyond rude. We got into the room at 7:30 so never got in early to decorate. Our meals were good but Once again, time to pay the check and we were not able to split my sisters bill. One person had to pay it. Our bills totaled over 1000$. One manager, Steven, was very nice and apologized saying it’s not the norm for the Bistro but since it was New Year’s Eve they were just really busy. I don’t care. They knew all along I booked a party for that night and if they couldn’t handle it I should have been told. My husband is a physician and owns a business. I have planned many large parties that went 100 times easier than this small party. I will never go back to the Bistro and would never recommend a party there.More
