great lunch menu, attractive decor, reasonable prices

Stopped here for lunch. Great menu and plenty of well-priced choices for the midday trade. This is a very attractive restaurant with a large area for hibachi stations, comfortable booth dining, a colorful sushi bar. Service was very good. I chose a sushi lunch special and had salad and miso soup for starters. The sushi plate came with sushi rolls as well. Everything was fresh and tasty and nicely presented. Only food negative - the salad was drowning in dressing but not so bad as to keep me from giving food an "excellent" rating. Hibachi chef was doing his job entertaining his customers and serving up good stuff although I had chosen booth seating and did not try it first hand. This place is not in my town but I found it appealing enough to return for a full dinner meal. The restaurant offers Japanese, Chinese, and Thai cuisine. I prefer Asian restaurants to be dedicated to one country's cooking but I had Japanese and this seems to be Osaka's concentration, as its name would suggest. My meal was excellent but I cannot really judge how it handles the other varieties.

Great takeout lunches

During the pandemic, we've gotten in the habit of afternoon day trips around Ohio when the walls start to close in a bit. One of those journeys took us to Wooster, a pleasant college town with an arboretum we wanted to visit. By early afternoon, we were hungry. We're still averse to inside dining so restaurant food has to be takeout of things that can be eaten in a park (a bit early for that) or the car. An examination of Osaka's menu offered plenty of options. We picked a couple of tempura dinners – shrimp for me, chicken for my wife. The servings were a delight. Surprisingly large amounts of perfectly fried and drained protein and veggies along with rice, miso soup and a fairly forgettable iceberg lettuce salad. We found a nearby park and enjoyed our lunches. Five large skewers of shrimp and chicken and seven servings of assorted veggies. Perfect finger food and so much, the rest of the meals – including some of the tempura – were eaten later that night at home. Service was efficient and friendly and the menu offers an extensive variety of well-priced Japanese, Chinese and Thai dishes. We will return to that arboretum in the spring and I can almost guarantee a return to this restaurant.

Beef Teriyaki Not Worth the $$ or taste

Family meal take out. One was Beef Teriyaki the others were 3 Hibachi’s meals. Very disappointed with the taste and quality of the Beef Teriyaki, very very tough to chew. Came with a very small oration of white rice. Not worth the price

Dissatisfied for the first time ever with Osaka

First time ever dissatisfied with quality of sushi and sashimi- rice dry, nigiri had very small pieces of fish on it. The Sashimi pieces was half the size they normally are when dining in restaurant or take out. First time ever in years disappointed in our order.

My favorite restaurant in Wooster

I love the sushi here and they have a great lunch deal on 2 or 3 rolls. Prices are average. You get a lot of food for the money. I have eaten here once a week for the last year and it is very good. The hibachi is good also.

General Tso - not great at all

3 people, sushi order for two members I had General Tso - the General Tso was the worst I have had - some pieces had very little or no chicken in them - all very hard to chew and overcooked/ fried - ended up not finishing the dish. Very disappointed!!

3 Hibachi meals all really good / Pad Thai not so good

3 Hibachi meals all really great. Also ordered Pad Thai with shrimp. A mistake, portion size great, shrimp really good but absolutely no taste or flavor. Compared with another restaurant in Wooster that offered Pad Thai with several levels of spice/heat, this was not enjoyable- too bad everything else was great

Great find in small town

I loved going during my college years. Good service. Large, delicious servings. I always enjoyed the chicken katsu, chicken lo mein, and the dumplings.

In middle of eating our meal staff started cleaning with 409 cleaner

Family of four all meals really good. The only disappointment was the Mongolian Beef. It was mostly onion and the onion was really raw. Spoilt the meal. Other food was pretty good.

Best sushi in town and fun hibachi.

We go to Osaka fairly regularly for sushi, which is the best in town. The Hibachi is fun to go to when we have grandchildren in town. Very casual dinning, reasonable prices.

Food OK, little to much sauce

Did the Hybatchi grill for birthday boy. Food was ok but I had had better. Chef used to much soy sauce so everything was plenty salty.

Group of 9 stop for dinner. Good food for the price, options of Hibachi. We had good service, menu options are very good. Food very flavorful and fresh. It was pur first visit and plan on returning when back in the area.

My children and I were out doing some Saturday shopping. We are not from the area but travel through Wooster regularly. Since we like Asian food, we decided to have lunch here. We had the hibachi chef cook our lunch in front of us. The menu had the standard, typical hibachi items. We each ordered some cooked sushi and a hibachi meal. I can’t really say anything great nor can I say anything bad about the meal. I guess if you are looking for something a little better than a typical fast food lunch and you like hibachi, have lunch here. With three non-alcoholic drinks, three hibachi lunches, and three orders of sushi our bill came to $56. Pretty competitive for most restaurants like this.
