Terrible experience! Food was mediocre! Service was lousy! From the moment we walked in the hostess tells us they are busy and employees called out and service was gonna be slow! And then told every other group that came in the restaurant. Steaks were just ok! Would definitely not make a return visit. I expected a little more for $275... More

There were 8 of us out for dinner. We were excited because we had not been there in a long time. Our reservation was at 7. We did not get our meal until 9:30. 3 of us ordered roasted cauliflower, because our meals were supposed to come with risotto, but they were out of it. The cauliflower came out boiled... More

It's a nice little place to go. They have a nice variety on their menu, and the food is pretty decent. They have different specials on different days, and the wait staff is usually pretty prompt and friendly. We go there fairly often, and I would recommend.

We popped in just to see what it looks like. We ate at the tavern, which is more modern and pub-like, but the food was good. We then went into the restaurant which is gorgeous! Perfect for a romantic rendezvous. I checked out the party/meeting rooms-very 1800s but pretty. Loved the old fireplaces.

This place is a hidden gem, we usually visit the Tavern side, and its just a couple blocks from the downtown square, and we've always had good experiences. The appetizers are great and portions are huge. Entree's are good as well, though we've gotten there early and did Happy hour appetizers and it was more than enough food. Service is... More

The outside seating is very nice. Only if it is a sunny evening it can get sunny/hot at certain tables. The food use to be better but it's still ok but has gone done in quality some. The building is very cool as it was the old stable/garage for the old jail/justice center in Wooster. Good for a burger, wings(order crispy)... More

We had a table of 4 and all of us were very satisfied with our food selections. The service was friendly and attentive, there are a number of beer and beverage choices available, and the prices are reasonable for the location. Overall it was a good experience and we would eat here again if we were ever back in the... More

The Olde Jaol is great because you have your choice of very upscale dining or more casual (out on the patio.) We've done both. The formal dining is a great place for anniversary or birthday celebrations. It's a great atmosphere and the building (an old Jail) has a cool story/history. The staff and chef are always very accommodating to vegetarians... More

Nine of us gathered to celebrate my sister-in-law's 65th birthday and our 27th wedding anniversary. The menu offered something for everyone and I was particularly thankful for the small plate options. Our family enjoyed wonderful meal with friendly service in a historic setting - it was truly memorable.

We stopped here to try their craft beers and were surprised how good the beer cheese soup was! Millersburg beer fantastic as well! Warm and cozy at the bar. Weather outside slippery and icy, great place to hang out to warm up!

Description
The Olde Jaol facility was built in 1865, and was claimed to be the finest sheriff facility of its kind. In 1977 the Wayne county sheriffs department was relocated across the street to a new facility. Subsequently, the old jail was registered as a historical landmark in 1980 and in 1995 The Olde Jaol Steakhouse / Tavern was given life. We have an excellent reputation for quality and service.Today, the Olde Jaol houses the finest in food and hospitality. We recommend our Certified Angus Beef® steak entrées. Only 8 percent of beef is tasty enough to meet the brand’s high standards. It’s simply the tastiest, juiciest, most tender beef you’ll ever have.
