Very unexpected stop in the Willaby area, the food was really really great great portions, the tater tot‘s were homemade shredded potatoes made into a very large tater tot‘s. The barbecue was really great and if you have a minute definitely try the hot house...dressing for the barbecue it will be worth the taste sensation had enough food to take home very good portion sizeMore

We went here later in the evening on a Friday , made a quick reservation so they knew 10 were coming. Seated quickly at a large table. Drinks started. Food ordered. The burgers were excellent as were the oysters. Fresh! It can get loud in...there but not so loud you can't carry on a conversation. Nice place. I look forward to going again.More

Sadly I don’t think will be returning. It was very disappointing especially since we were excited about coming here for months and months. But the service was lacking, didn’t get refills on anything, we’re trying too hard to get the waitresses attention to get more...sauces for our app that she never checked back on, and our entrées took almost an hour to get to us so by then we lost her appetite took our food to go. The only reason I left 2 stars was because we were sat fairly quickly for it being busy and our drinks did taste good. Had a feeling it wasn’t going to be a great experience since we saw lots of tables around us that seemed frustrated about the wait as well.More

I love the patio out back. Part of if is under roof, part in the open with umbrellas. Wide beer selection, on tap and in cans. Scrumptious food selections. Interesting and varied brunch selections. I had steak, eggs and grits, and my steak was cooked...to a perfect medium rare, exactly as ordered. Grits worthy of the south. Service was extraordinary and friendlyMore

Yesterday was crazy in DTW because of the Rib Burn Off. We decided to "tell the others" Morehouse was to be our meet-up locale and we couldn't have picked a better place. The back patio was expanded and there was lots of room for our...friends to come and go. Although the Coors Light could have been colder, the Bells Oberon on draft was ice cold. The service on the patio could not have been better. I split nachos and chicken fingers which may have been specials because off the Rib Burn Off and they were very good. I must say I have a tendency to patronize the places on the east side of Erie Street but I know I'll go back to The Morehouse a few times this summer.More

The beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches are big and tasty. I like to have any toppings or slaw that come on the sandwich, served on the side. The home made mac-n-cheese is real good too. I'm looking forward to trying a burger next time.

Great staff and excellent food all in the style that only Morehouse can offer. Weekday specials are always tasty and priced right. We had potato and ham soup followed by prime rib tacos. Yummy

Haven't been here since it changed ownership but used to frequent the previous, John's Cafe. Been wanting to try this place for a LONG time but never any available parking in this town. Parking spot was available so we decided to stop and try it...out. Very happy we did and will certainly return in the future. The bartender was very nice and very helpful (Taylor) and chatty. I ordered the brisket and my wife had the chicken. Both were extremely plentiful orders and food was excellent.More

The meal started promising... fried green tomatoes appetizer was good. Jambalaya was ok but served in a bowl so narrow that it was hard to eat. Fried chicken was dry and served with burnt hush puppies (seriously... how did these make it to my table?...They were literally black. Inedible. The cook should have known, the waitress should have known). The smoked mac n cheese was tasty but reminded me too much of Stouffers. I won't be back.More

We tried the Morehouse based on its location and the menu. The food is good and the menu is interesting. My wife enjoyed shrimp and grits while I had one of my favorites, short ribs. The restaurant itself is ok in terms of ambiance. Given...that we went recently (winter) it was a bit cold where we sat. Contributing to that was the large garage door that they have for summer dining, that was close to our table. Service was good and parking is ok, as long as you time it right.More
