We ate on a saturday night. The restaurant was busy. The menu choice was substantial - something for everyone!! Wine list was good. My husband raved about the trifle. Best he's had since his childhood and he is approaching 60!! Wonderful service in a cosy country pub environment.

We walked from Eyam and happened across this pub in Stoney Middleton. We were only going to get a drink however the menu and the welcome made us want to stay and have lunch. I am so glad we did. The service and food was lovely particularly the two young men behind the bar who chatted knowledgeably about the vast... More

My friend and I turned up at lunchtime with 3 large, wet and dirty dogs after a big walk and were more than welcome. They brought a big bowl of water for the dogs and were very helpful. The food was also delicious and portion sizes were huge! Very impressed and would highly recommend :)

The usual friendly welcome, greta pint of Draught Bass, lamb rump and steak and ale pie were really as good as they could be, fresh hand cut chips. Yum!

My in laws were staying so we all had a family meal on the Sunday but the food was that good we had to come back once more before the end of our holiday. The food is fantastic, the chips are amazing! Wonderful gin selection, something for everyone. The fact it's dog friendly makes it huge winner with us! We... More

Have visited this pub several times as have family that live in the village, it's one of my favourite places in the area. Lovely traditional pub with beautiful rooms and excellent service. They have a good menu with lots of choice, and the food is always delicious. Good selection of drinks, different wines and gins etc. Perfect for any occasion;... More

We came to the pub after a lovely walk out on Boxing Day, we didn't book but managed to get the last table. Nice quality wine, food was hot and very good (proper chips). I would recommend the lasagne. If you can somehow manage to fit a pudding in, they are homemade, again giant portions. It's a shame it's out... More

We visited tonight which was a Tuesday - normally a quiet night in January for many pubs but the Moon was still buzzing - locals standing at the bar; playing darts and others eating in the pub.

We visited The Moon for a late Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. Excellent roast beef with all the trimmings. The staff were friendly and attentive. Some nice touches such as an extra jug of gravy. Will definitely return

The pub has just undergone a comprehensive refurbishment, creating an interesting mix of rustic and modern interiors throughout, and will be offering luxury en-suite rooms in early 2016.

We offer a comprehensive wine list, real ales and home cooked food using locally sourced produce. There is also a beer garden, log burning stove and private parking.
