Uncle Johns has a local following perhaps because they serve up a solid breakfast menu. If hungry and in this area of Toledo, consider a stop at Uncle Johns.

This is your standard family dining establishment, but it has a little more local color than, say, a Denny's would. I ordered the andouille sausage omelette (fluffy and spicy) with perfectly-cooked pancakes (as I would expect from a pancake house). My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, crispy and delicious. Quick service. Cheap breakfast.

We were here twice so far for breakfast and we enjoyed the food. Portions are large and prepared well. The bathroom, however, were small and dingy. The ceiling air vents were dirty.

I was excited to try this, but it fell somewhat short. The wife had an omelette, and the eggs were crispy brown. I had 2 eggs, ordered over medium, and they were not done enough The pancakes were ok - a little gummy and tough, to be honest. I expected more of a "pancake house". But, it was decent, and... More

I've only ever had breakfast foods here so I can't attest to the traditional lunch and dinner meals, but their breakfast is great! The chocolate chip banana pancakes are my favorite!

I have visited UJ's many times over the past 15years and this restaurant provides a reprehensible restroom experience every time! Pretty sure they haven't put a nickel into any remodeling or air fresheners over the past 15 years….Come on Uncle John! The mens restroom is only 10' x 6' in size. It wouldn't take much to bring it up to... More

We stumbled upon Uncle John's while staying in Toledo. We are SO glad we took a chance and stopped here. We didn't realize it was past closing time when we walked in, but the owner greeted us promptly and took us right to a table without mentioning the time at all. Mariah was our server and she did a fabulous... More

We were in town for Parent's weekend to visit our daughter and were looking for a breakfast place and had seen Uncle John's while in town. Stopped on Sunday morning around 11:00 AM and there were people waiting outside which is usually a good sign. Got on the list for a table with a 15 minute wait and that was... More

Uncle John's Pancake house has been proudly serving the people of Toledo, Ohio and the greater Northwest, Ohio and Southeast, Michigan area for more than 50 years now. Originally founded in 1963, Uncle John's is still going strong, and in the same location and building! As you can imagine through the years, we have developed many loyal customers that we prefer to call friends and family. For in fact it is common place for us to serve the grandchildren of patrons who first came in to Uncle John's as children themselves. Very often we will have three generations at one table. While much of Toledo has changed, and countless restaurants have come and gone, the pancakes, as well as the rest of the menu items at Uncle John's, are still being served in the same time honored tradition as the were in 1963. Never fear though, while the traditional dishes are still being served, we have also grown and changed with the times to more identify with the ever changing palates of Toledoans. So if you are looking for the quintessential stack of buttermilk pancakes, or the perennial favorite of children, the silver dollar pancakes, they are still on the menu. This said though, you can also find more adventurous culinary items on our menu. Items such as Portobello mushroom omelette, or a new crowd-pleaser, the guacamole burger. So know matter what you order, you can have confidence that your meal will be served hot, fast, and with all the attention you as a customer deserve. Our wait staff are trained in the "Home-Style" method of being prompt, efficient and courteous, or as the youth might say today, the "Old School" way! So the next time you feel like having a home cooked meal, in a family friendly environment with quality food and affordable prices, we hope you will consider dropping in to Uncle John's Pancake House. We look forward to meeting and serving you! Thanks, "Uncle John" and Staff!
