My wife stopped here based on the other recommendations on a trip down to the Dayton area. Expected a "sit down" restaurant where your order was taken but found it was cafeteria style. We explained to the employees we were first timers and they were all kind and helpful. Menu board gave all the choices and the food was served hot and promptly. I ordered the two meat combo of pork loin and pulled pork while my wife go the turkey sandwich. Everything was very good and the prices are very reasonable for this type of food. We will definitely recommend this to our friends and family plus its very easy to find off I-75. Hope to see you folks again soon.

We stopped here after checking out the local waterfall preserve park as it was a short 10 minute drive. The food was quite good (a fair portion was served), the gentleman who took our order was super friendly and asked us for a preference for sauce hotness, and the only wait time was for the fries but that was fine as they were made to order. The restaurant was clean, food was excellent, and experience was favorable. I can see during weekend nights this place would get packed. Overall, highly recommend and we'll be back once we're back in this side of town.

Came here for a family meal and they did not disappoint. Served cafeteria-style, we received our food quickly and were able to watch it get put together as we walked our way through the line.
Pulled Pork Sliders, a side of Mac N Cheese and a side of Ranch Beans rounded out the plate. These are not ordinary sliders, they are Texas-sized only being about a half inch around smaller than the regular bun that they use. Their coleslaw is of the vinegar variety which I personally don;t care much for, but was not too bad.
Great meal, great service. If you are in the area and you like BBQ you need to stop by.

Any place that has Brisket is on my radar. We were traveling home to Michigan from Nashville and stopped for gas at this exit and saw this place. Its cafeteria style dinning. The guys in the dinning room were great in bringing refills in a fresh cup and keeping the place clean. I of coarse had Brisket with sides it was very tasty, My only complaint is no Vinegar based sauce for the Brisket. My wife had chicken and fries. I would go back if I was in this area again.

My daughter and her family live in Tipp City. Whenever we visit and decide to go out to eat, this is our first choice. The pork is tasty and tender. The side dishes are well-prepared, and there's always enough to take home.The ribs are just as I like them -- falling off the bone.

We nearly, always do carry out at Hickory River - about once a week. The meats are excellent, especially, the pulled pork and brisket. They offer three sauces: hot, medium and honey barbecue. I believe the first two are Texas style and the honey barbecue is more main stream. The only reason that I didn’t rate them a five is that their sides are not worthy of the meats. They are far from terrible, maybe a bit meh. The meats are the star. Best barbecue in Miami County for sure.

My wife and I were on our way home and stopped at a restaurant near by, saw the banner advertising Tuesday night special-$1 minis. Tried them! They are AWESOME. Meat was great and generous, sauce was outstanding. We will be back!

I'm so glad we stopped here the food was delicious. The service was superb and all workers that we saw were very friendly and willing to help out . The pulled pork and bbq sauce was excellent I definitely know why they won awards. Wow cornbread was great. Will definitely add to my places to eat again.

I picked up after ordering online. Very reasonably priced for a lot of food. The turkey was very tender and tasty. The polish sausage with yellow mustard was as good as any Maxwell street in Chicago. The smoked brisket with hot sauce was moist and bursting with flavor. Had dessert and total was $20 including corn bread, slaw and beans.

Pulled pork sandwiches were delicious. We enjoyed 3 different sides (fries, Mac n cheese, and potato salad). Service was fast and friendly. We will definitely return. Nice atmosphere too and location had easy access just off I75.

Pulled pork was extra fatty and very moist. Been to Tipp City location for 20 years + and never had a bad meal, but not today. In past it was hard to find any fat at all, so I guess we got some under cooked fatty pork.

First time here for our 35th Anniversary. Could smell the food outside. Service counter was great, well mannered and courteous young men. Food was delicious, meats were good and sides were good, cornbread a little dry but good.

Meat was only Luke warm. Thought sauce should have been cooked with meat. Mac n cheese was overdone and mushy. Baked beans were over seasoned. Cornbread was way too dry. So cold in bldg we left early. Won't go back.

First visit to Hickory River Smokehouse in Tipp City. Food was really good . I had pulled pork and the wife had half slab ribs. Great smokey flavor. But the real kicker was the chili. It was so good we got 2 quarts to bring home to Mansfield Ohio ( 138 miles )

My wife and I were in a hurry to get home from out of state,and saw your sign from the highway. we thought a sandwich of bbq would be a quick lunch. When we walked in, we were hooked! It took an hour, but we ate 2 big brisket sandwiches with mouth-watering sides. We couldn't skip dessert, so we will be back soon!
