The roll was good yet, tiny for $14. I wish I had taken a picture. 4 of the small pieces had a tiny piece of snow crab and avocado. 2 had a tiny piece of shrimp and avocado. A dusting of egg roe on outside....I imagine food cost was less than $3 for sure. Also, last time I was there they charged me $2.00 for hot water and when I asked they said, nothing we can do about that. Just be aware.More
The reason I give one star is its HYGIENE problem and the poor way the manager treats her customers. The restaurant was pretty empty when I went there for lunch. After ordering and receiving the teriyaki fish bento box, I took a picture of the...meal to send to a friend. Unfortunately, as I was about to eat, I noticed the plate was very dirty. I brought this to the attention of the server, who apologized and offered to make the food again. The second time, I noticed something odd: the same piece of fish and the same rolls had merely been transferred to a new place. I just happened to have a photo of the first time the food was served and confirmed with the waitress that the same exact food had in fact on the second plate. The waitress apologized again and took the second plate to kitchen. After a few minutes, an old woman came to me said that they ate my food and they wouldn’t cook another meal for me. Then she asked me to leave. Shocked, I asked to speak to a manager, only to find out that she IS the manager! I will never consume food at a restaurant that doesn’t take hygiene seriously. Would you want to eat at an establishment that kicks out a customer who simply asks to eat off of a clean plate?More
Had some sushi delivered and I am astounded at how small the sushi rolls have become. Our $60 meal was limited to one plastic container of food and the miso soup was a disgrace at the minimal size if the container. Less than two tablespoons....Rather not send it than send the size of container sent. This is not an expensive item and from every other restaurant who supplies soup, you get a reasonable size.More
We walked in with no reservation Itsiku was super nice, and she Assisted us to be seated by the outdoor looking window. we ordered different dishes and Itsiku was very helpful in recommending the right combination. we loved every single moment!! the venue, the food...was awesome, service was perfect and location is great. will definitely return back whenever im in the areaMore
Friendly, well paced service, great food, many Japanese expats here. Try the Bento with Salmon and the Seafood Appetizers. For a group a couple of hot pots. Sushi for the gifted or native gourmet. I eat here every week, have been coming for decades. English...and Japanese spoken.More

This place has a variety of authentic Japanese food. It isn't close to where I live, but I still go there regularly. If you go, bring a friend who knows Japanese or use your Google translate. There are more items on their Japanese menu!
I came here alone and enjoyed a yellow tail scallion maki and eel maki at the bar. Sushi was good quality - good rice texture and temperature, fish and scallion tasted good and were in the right proportion. Both rolls were saltier than I am...used to, which isn't necessarily bad, just different. Staff was attentive and friendly, and price was a good value, especially considering it was an ordinary day (versus many sushi places that have great prices only 1 day a week). Would definitely go back if I am eating in the Solon area again.More
I have eaten here many times, but felt I needed to at least write one review. Typically my family gets sushi. However, tonight we branched out and tried different entrées. Everyone of them was excellent. The sushi is always fresh and tasty. The service is...always prompt and friendly. The cost is more than reasonable. I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys Japanese food.More
For someone new to Sushi this was a nice change of pace. The food was good and well prepared. It's a nice atmosphere what do you want just a quick bite or an evening with friends.

We have been going to Shinano since it was in Richmond Heights. We were so sad when they closed and so happy when they reopened in Solon. Delicious sushi every time. We love the atmosphere which is welcoming, and family friendly. The service is always...friendly. The staff is consistent and has been with the restaurant for years. They are like old friends of ours who are always happy to see us. When it gets busier, they step it up and cover the restaurant with the same reliable wait staff, hostesses and management. We make it a point to enjoy dinner here at least once a month and for special occasions and to entertain out of town guests. We love Chad's roll and a wide range of other specialty rolls. The prices are very affordable which allows us to indulge. You will not be disappointed! In my opinion....it's the best sushi in greater Cleveland.More
Visited on a Saturday evening. Busy but not packed. Took a long time to be acknowledged by our server... too long! My husband was getting ready to walk out. Placed our order for everything at once. Avocado salad seemed a little smaller than before... still...delicious with fresh avocado and shrimp but definitely not as much. Sushi is the standout here. Very fresh and prepared very well. Cooked meals are good but sushi is definitely the winner. Can BYOB and they provide glassware. We love this! We'll be back but will hope for better service in the future.More
We were craving sukiyaki and there's no place close to home that serves it. However, when we had cause to be in the Cleveland area, we checked around and saw that this restaurant had a sukiyaki menu and figured we should give it a try!...It's an extremely pleasant place inside. Normal shopping plaza outside, whole other world inside. Calm quiet atmosphere, very tasteful decorations. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and friendly. It was very reminiscent of a classic warm small town restaurant - just Japanese, if that makes any sense. There was a very warm family feel to it. They do not serve alcohol, but they have excellent tea. The beef sukiyaki was amazing. Extremely flavorful, the meat was tender, the vegetables were just right. Even with two of us sharing, the single dish was considerably more than we could finish. Next time we're up north, we absolutely will be coming here again!More
