The steak was delicious! You can't find a better steak anywhere! Be prepared to wait awhile for the steak if they are busy which they always are on the weekend.

If you are looking for a place to eat in Portsmouth, Ohio with a "funky" atmosphere and great food, look no further than the Scioto Ribber. Great Steaks, Great Barbecue -- pork and chicken, fries and coleslaw. You can also get carry-out for a party at home.

They only have 2 kinds of steaks, the worst two. Ribeye & New York Strip, which are half fat & gristle. I don't consider those steaks. Their sides come in little plastic containers, PLASTIC. They are slow, never checked on our table after we ordered. For the prices, one would expect the food to be in/on real dinnerware, not plastic... More

The steak here cannot be beat! What the place lacks in atmosphere it makes up for with taste!! The ribs & sauce are also excellent! I order the steak, my husband orders the ribs, then we share! Too hard to choose one over the other! Expect a wait for a table, though.

I have heard for the longest time that this establishment was delicious but I was always skeptical. Friday night we drove an our to get here for some dinner. We arrived around 7:00pm and the place was packed. We entered our name and party number(2) and then could only stand and wait for our name to be called. Staying out... More

We have gone here for years when back in town visiting family. Don't go here for a fancy dining experience - go here for incredible ribs, steaks, German coleslaw, and Ribber fries. I can't speak for the chicken or seafood as I've never had them (I can't pull myself away from the ribs and steak). Tasty food!

The drive is forgotten when that steak is set in front of me. Juicy, tender and a plateful. Sides a +

We were told this was a great place to eat. They lied. The ribs are not tender but a cheaper sirloin with huge bones (think the Flintstones here) and tougher than a night in jail. The chicken breast still had the wing attached and it just looked very strange but tasted ok. The sides come in little plastic souffle cups... More

The Scioto Ribber is the perfect place for a huge and delicious, hickory smoked steak and cold beer. Whether you choose the ribs, chicken or steak, you are sure to love your dinner. It's a very laid back place so jeans and t-shirts are the norm, but you will also see business attire because area businesses take their visiting customers... More

Had the Ruben. Decent size for the money ($7) although the average plate probably costs 28 bucks a person. Little too salty. Service is a little slow - and the help I over heard a couple employees says is high turnover.
