I took my family of five here for dinner and we were very satisfied. Three of us had ribs, one had chicken tenders and my son had chicken fries. Everything tasted like you were back at home and cooked by mom. I will definitely go...back and I would recommend it to anyone that prefers home cooking. Price was very reasonable too. We all ate for a little over $50.More

Waited approximately an hour Sunday evening (3-14-21) for two tables to split up a larger party (13). Hostess that evening was not happy to be there. We had checked with the hostess two times to make sure we had not missed a call to be...seated. The third time checked with hostess and told her that we would be willing to break apart our group to whatever tables were available to enable us to seat down and get food as a member of our party was diabetic and needed food. The hostess snapped and told us it usually took an hour for a bigger party. Then she verbally spoke out and complained what a day it had been. Finally, we were seated and the server was sweet and kind. The food was delicious (steak, chicken, ribs (like pork chops). Rolls warm and soft. Regular fries good when finally received as server had forgot them but corrected her mistake quickly and nicely. The friend and family gathering turned out well. Would like to go back but not sure if the yummy food is worth dealing with the unhappy and grumpy hostess.More

Visited the Ribber as a group of six. Four of us had steak, two were medium well and two were well done. They were awesome in flavor and tenderness. Two had the fish basket that was also good. The issue I want to bring to...your attention is Check your receipt. It was our fault for not looking at everyone's receipt but the two eating the fish was charged for ribs and paid too much. So be aware we're all human and make mistakes so check those receipts.More

There's something about these steaks being smoked that gives them a flavor like no other steak I've ever had. You chooses between the small steak, weighing in at a paltry 16oz (😳) or the slightly larger option at 32oz. We thought it'd be one massive...steak, but it's two separate ones. You get to chooses between a ribeye, or a New York strip steak. The indoor seating is pretty cramped, but part of the charm is that it's inside of an old, historic building. It's not a cheap outing to the Ponderosa steakhouse, but it's well worth the money for the experience.More

We visited the Ribber on a Saturday in October. They opened at 11:00 AM and had a waiting list at 11:05 AM. We waited 30 minutes and it was worth the wait. We ordered the large steak and it fed two of us. It was...absolutely the best steak of 2020. The large steak is two steaks cooked the same way. Highly recommend.More

Great food! Great service! Definitely try the steak and green beans! My husband had the ribeye and I had the strip steak. Both cooked medium and both were excellent!

Ribber's steak and green beans are the best I have ever had anywhere!!!! You can cut the steak with a plastic knife.

I go to the Scioto Ribber whenever I’m in Portsmouth for the steak. It’s truly one of the best steaks I’ve had. Always consistent and cooked just right. The sides and service are also great. Highly recommended.

One of the few places I've eaten that I would honestly recommend anything I've tried. I've visited a dozen or so times. Steak is where it's at. Both the NY strip and the ribeye are contenders for best steak in the country. I order medium/medium...rare, and they're cooked prefectly every time. The smoke flavor combined with the seasoning makes them irresistible. Do be prepared to wait for them, as they do take longer to arrived at the table than anything else on the menu. The ribs ARE NOT baby back, spare, whatever you want to call them. They're straight up pork chop-like, but they're incredibly good. Try the different sauces they got to see which you prefer. All of the sides are spectacular, so just pick which ever seems most appealing.More
