This local place is hugely popular due in part to its location right in the heart of Peninsula, a quaint little stop on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, the Ohio and Erie Towpath, and in the heart of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. They offer nightly and seasonal specials, have an ice cream counter and a patio in addition to two dining rooms. Service is sometimes slow, but today I came in after the lunch rush and was greeted and served immediately. Their menu is varied, including breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a page full of beer options. But, if you go for no other reason, go for an order of eggplant fries. Crispy, ultra light breading doesn’t overpower, and if you’re lucky enough to get them served immediately, they practically melt in your mouth. Nothing bitter or tough about them. They have this recipe down pat! Dip into the wasabi sauce on the side for absolute perfection.

Stopped here for dinner after spending the day exploring the National Park. This is a nice little restaurant with indoor & outdoor seating. Has a bar area also. Service was very good. The food was delicious. The floor was a bit dirty, it would be a good idea to have a small little push broom that the person cleaning up the table could use on the floor area around the tables. I noticed the bus boy cleaning the table next to us, he wiped down the table, seats, and beer menu that stays at the table. However, he did not wipe down the salt, pepper, and condiments that stay on the table.

I tried something way out of the normal for me. I stopped in for the fish fry but changed my mind. My server Sydney K. was such a help in explaining the items on the menu that were different from my usual picks. I tried a spinach strawberry wrap and I liked it. There are so many good choices here I can't wait to come back and explore again. I might become a regular. Thanks Sydney for making the meal so special!

Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich . How can you mess that up?? When I asked as the chicken was dry and not hot,I was told that the chicken breasts come in precooked......ewwwwwww!!! Why even bother serving something like that?

Hello Trip Advisor Crowd: I am the owner of Fisher's Café & Pub. I normally take the classy high road and do not respond to such a classless ,fraudulent and vicious review. Fisher's is a third generation family owned and operated restaurant that was established over 60 years ago. Please review the 300 + reviews we have received, and our 4 star + rating, which we are proud of. This review was posted by a very sad and miserable ex-employee. I choose not to say anything more about this individual. This is not a honest review of my business, but a hateful, angry attack on my loyal dedicated employees and myself personally. As the saying goes "We are all in this COVID-19 pandemic together. There is no place in this world at this time, to try and destroy places and people with such bitterness and hate. When we get thru this, and we will, I invite you to come visit us, in the beautiful town of Peninsula, Ohio. I look forward to seeing all our loyal customers again soon. We miss you all. Randomly stopped here for some lunch before exploring a couple of trails. Had nice outdoor seating. Server was friendly. We split the chicken wrap with raspberry dressing and an order of Bavarian pretzels. They were excellent and very reasonably priced. Stop by if you have the chance.

This place was packed on this Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and IN a National Park, but we were seated within 20 minutes and they did a remarkable job getting our meal out to us. We ordered eggplant fries when we gave the sweet waitress our drink order. The fries actually arrived seconds before as she was placed the drinks on our table, and that was literally in less than 5 minutes. And, man, they were so good, crispy & perfect when dipped. We all enjoyed our meals which were served promptly, warm, and quite reasonably priced: French onion soup, ribs, potato salad for me; brisket burger sliders & baked beans, for my husband; and smoked brisket sandwich and beans for my bro-in-law. Lots of good food & awesome service on a very busy weekend, and all for $62. Highly recommend!

Friends from California were on a road trip and asked us to meet them. We decided to go off the beaten path and try Fisher's in Peninsula Ohio. They are BBQ lovers and were blown away with the size of the rack of ribs they ordered, and the delicious flavor. My wife and I were in the mood for steak and loved ours medium to medium rare (cooked perfectly) and seasoned to perfection! Our salads were a great start and the steamed veggies were amazing as well. Keep up the great work Fisher's!!!

I like fisher's. I live in the area and have visited many times. The food and service are fine and it's nice being right on the towpath. However, they have lost my business during this COVID pandemic. My husband and I ordered food to go to do a picnic in the park on a nice summer evening. When I had to go in to pick up the food, I was surprised how crowded it was - social distancing was not happening in any form. Also to pick up my food I had to walk through the entire restaurant, outside to the back bar. Why didn't they have the hostess or someone out front managing take out? It made no sense. While the employees were wearing masks, many were not wearing them properly (i.e. under their noses) and there didn't seem to by any extra space between tables. I'm am disappointed in the restaurant for this but I will return after the pandemic is over.

We ate here for the first time and just loved this place. We found it online, about 20 miles from our hotel and decided we would eat here. We went in for lunch on a Friday around 1pm and sat inside. I think there was a wait for the patio. The eggplant fries were the best! Very tasty and crunchy and the dip was amazing. Also had the boneless wings which were good, and the coconut shrimp appetizer which we did not care for; the shrimp had no flavor and the sauce was too sweet. The blue cheese dressing that came with the celery was very creamy and tasty, but the ranch did not seem to have any spices in it, it was plain white and tasted like mayo. The beers were served like room temperature. On the second round, I asked if there were any cans that were colder. She did apologize and said there were some that are now cold, which were better than our first ones. Overall, this is a great place to eat! I gave it 4 stars because of the warm beer, the shrimp and oddly sweet sauce for the shrimp, and the ranch dressing. We do plan on making the drive to visit this place again.

We brought in a group of 16 yesterday and hoped to sit on the patio but Mother Nature had other ideas! We were seated quickly in the bar area by Samantha that was also our server. She did a great job with out group while we ate, drank, and had a meeting about our Burning River 100 mile relay race in two weeks. We will make sure we come back post race for our celebration meal!

My wife and I ate lunch here on a recent visit to Cuyahoga National Park. We ate on the patio. I was not impressed. The chairs were low and uncomfortable and our server was only marginally friendly. My wife ordered a spinach salad which was served on a large plate, but was skimpy and not worth the price. I did not feel appreciated as customer the entire time we were there.

We were told of this place by one of the girls at the NP welcome center. I really don't like to eat outside, but this was one of the 4 days a year the weather was perfect. Service was great , we shared a spinach dip and an entree of fish tacos, both were spot on, and then had a delicious piece of cake for dessert. We were ready to continue our trip through the National Park.

We all enjoyed our food: bourbon glaze salmon, avocado BLT sandwich, and chicken/bacon wrap. Service was prompt and food was out fast! Atmosphere had a good vibe and felt Covid safe. It was too cold to sit on the patio, but would be nice on a warm day.

We ate at this location twice during our stay - both times the food ordered was delicious and full of flavor. The service was inconsistent, our first night the server was attentive and our drinks never sat empty. The second time a couple days later, our drinks sat empty almost the whole meal and I wanted to out in a beer order when my food was delivered but it wasn’t until we were almost done eating that the waitress came back around. Then it was another long wait before the beer was delivered. 🤷‍♀️. The food was great tho. And we agreed that this place had the best fries of all the places we ate while we were here. I don’t understand why the restaurant across the street is ranked higher than this place. The food here is flavorful, portions are really decent, the beer list is pretty large, and we enjoyed the dessert we had the first night. I would warn against getting an Irish coffee (the seasonal special “mixed drinks”) it wasn’t the best. Bonus - this spot isn’t a chain restaurant like the spot across the street. I’d definitely recommend going here over there if you’re unsure.

Please do not go here. There is mold growing in the ice bin where servers get ice for your drink. Also the kitchen is disgusting. Live maggots coming out of a hole in the floor of the kitchen next to the dish area. This place should be shut down. The owner is awful to employees and to customers. You've been warned.
