Great food, excellent beer selection, good service. I ate lunch twice in a week because it’s that good. The first lunch was French onion soup and a salad with salmon. The French onion soup was not over salted like so many places do. The salmon...was nicely cooked and delicious. My second lunch was a grilled bologna sandwich. It comes with a fried egg and bacon! Wow, was it good. The place is clean with plenty of servers so you don’t have to wait too long. I will be back.More
A fine and varied pub-style menu. Good service. Fair prices. Great beer selection (I haven't had a Smithwick ale in years) A nice outside patio for those, like us, who are still nervous about inside dining. And there's plenty of hand sanitizer bottles available.
We...spend part of the year (18 and counting) in Nova Scotia, where seafood is impeccably fresh, so we're a bit particular about the quality of fish. The pub's generous serving of haddock was the best I've had in months and perfectly fried. House-made chips were first rate and a big side of fresh broccoli was lightly steamed and still crispy, though rather underseasoned. This is a place to put on your radar screen.More
I had the fish sandwich with fries and my wife had a burger with sweet potato fries. Our friends had fish n chips and a Reuben . Everyone was full, happy and satisfied. Plus good service and an outstanding selection of craft beers, made for...an enjoyable outing.More
The food is heavy-handed and simple but nicely portioned and reasonably priced. The boneless chicken appeared to be hand-breaded with a light flour/ cornmeal mix but was under-seasoned and over cooked. The bologna sandwich had a nice sear on the meat but was served on...a soggy, greasy roll. The fried pickles were briny and flavorful with a thick breading that also appeared to done in house using a pickle spear instead of a pickle chip which was a welcome twist. The service is prompt and upbeat and still managed to be attentive to the crowd of regulars. It is worth a try but expect food that is closer to a chain restaurant than fine dining.More
Hungry for good eats but don't want your wallet to empty ridiculously? This delightfully scrumptious microbrew/gastro pub/tavern offers a delectable menu (however, a good steak on the menu would be nice, hint hint lol)as well as craft beers that keeps you in your seats for...long periods! You don't want to leave! The perfectly prepared, nice, simple Reuben is a must try, accompanied with an IPA or Guinness of course. Had several items off the menu and never a disappointment (...I'm a bit picky lol). Dont know what draft to pick to quench your thirst? Well, their flights are fantabulous and so very affordable to boot! Whatever it is you order for your eats on the menu, your palate will thank you, even bless you for it! Atmosphere is nice, also offers outdoor seating. Clean facilities (is important!). Servers and staff super duper awesome, friendly and knowledgeable, also attentive. Individual, couples, family, meetings... a great place to dine, for certain. Pricing is more than reasonable. Quality of food is scrumpdeliliciously two thumbs up in my book. So price for what you receive is up to par (I actuly would pay a little more even!). I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. Believe me, not all taverns are created equal. Mahalo and hope you enjoyed reading my review.More
My DH and I came here for lunch on a Monday. The waitress was very attentive and the burgers are delish! I had the Red Oak burger and my hubs, the Blue Cheese Applewood, Bacon burger. Fresh meat, fresh ingredients and the brioche buns make...for a tasty burger. We both feel the burgers were excellent. The beer battered fries and onion rings were really good as well. We are stuffed as the portion sizes are good sized. We will definitely be back.More
