Great Mexican food. Guacamole made table side. Consistently good food. Friendly staff. Only carry out now, but every item we get is easily transportable to home and delicious, even if a quick heat up is necessary. Go...support our local economy during this challenging time.
Hubby and I stopped here for dinner prior to concert at McCoy Center. Wish we had one of these closer to home. Handmade tortillas being pressed in front of you, fresh table side guacamole too. Happy hour on Saturday 3-7pm. Great fast service & excellent...food!!More
Great Mexican food and service! The staff is always gracious and welcoming. Guacamole made table side, and seasoned to your preference, is outstanding. Happy hour every day (including Sat!) from 3-7. Several types of margaritas, one with a local Ohio-based tequila and fresh lime juice....Excellent! Every meal we’ve had there has been great. Can almost always get in. Have brought large groups there as well; this team can accommodate groups large and small. Very small patio out in front; wish it was pet friendly in the summer...we’d go even more often!More
This place is so great. The staff is phenomenal. They remember you and treat you like royalty. It’s like you’re part of their family. The food is top notch and always hot and delicious. Armando is so welcoming, humorous and friendly. I have even started...bringing my customers here because they always are on point. Thank you to the blue agave staff for never missing a beatMore
Having owned and operated restaurants most of my life, I try to write positive reviews. Sometimes though, I get inspired to provide some constructive feedback. First of all the place isn't clean. I don't mean, shut it down dirty, I mean sticky tables, sticky menus...(often a source of virus transfer), and dirty restroom doors, just not clean. Our service was abrupt and inattentive. Nothing extra; What do you want? Here it is. No water refills, excessive wait for the check. The menu is extensive and nicely done. The prices are very high for the area. Maybe they think New Albany residents are immune, but there are many better choices and almost all are significantly less expensive. The lunch special was $10.95 and the least expensive lunch was $8.25. With tax and tip, lunch for two, $25 without beverages, really? The food was the best part, but not great. My chicken enchilada lunch was ok at best. Two chicken enchiladas, with two sides, I chose refried beans and salad. The enchiladas were very small and basic. Dry shredded chicken breast (probably canned) with some peppers mixed in, rolled in soft corn tortillas, with a tomatilla salsa on top. Overall small and very dry. A little more salsa, some cheese, or a dollop of sour cream would have made a big difference. A small amount of beans (about 1/4 cup) on the plate and then the salad. A very small portion of salad mix with a slice of tomato was placed on the hot plate next to the beans and served with about 2 oz. of ranch dressing. I don't like hot salad and I found it wasteful to be served more dressing than salad. My guest had the special, Burrito Simon, and was also unimpressed. The place is not a dive and with a little attention to detail could be quite good. Many people like it just fine. I think management is more focused on beer and margaritas than food and honestly I get it that they make more money on those items. My review is from the old school perspective that good food, friendly attentive service, a clean facility, and reasonably competitive pricing are the essential ingredients to a good restaurant visit.More
