We drove by this place for several years, but it looked too ostentatious, so we never tried it. Today we finally went there for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Very good place. Cozy. Comfortable. Great staff and very good food. Not cheap, but affordable....I had grilled octopus and scallops, my wife - heirloom tomato salad and a burger. All tasty, great plate design and a French portion size, which we like. Just two tiny things: 1. Our mixed drinks were not mixed and 2. They ran out of their soup of the day - my favorite cream of mushroom. I do not think that the restaurant of that level should ran out of any item on the menu. Otherwise, we had a good dinner.More

Not too crowded and tables were not bumping into each other which was so wonderful on a Friday evening. Valet was easy and nice. The tortellini dish was skimpy and looked like an appetizer and not an entree. It was excellent but not enough for...an adult portion. Other portions were good. Beet salad was excellent. Charming and special.More

It was a special family celebration that brought us to Cru Uncorked. We knew it would be expensive, but we decided it would be worth it. Wish we were always that right! Wow, what an evening. Our appetizers included the steak tartare, the tuna tartare,...the octopus and the veal sweetbreads. All were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Our party’s entrees included the filet mignon, the halibut, the lavender cured duck, and the scallops. Again, each dish was perfectly prepared. At the risk of appearing redundant, our desserts were also perfect. Dinner was expensive, no doubt about that, but worth it. The setting, the service, the meal all combined to make this a memorable evening and a restaurant we will happily revisit.More

Just a quick review this time. After having dined here numerous times, we decided to try on of their wine tasting events. Cru holds several of these throughout the year, so you can find one that suits your taste (and budget). Being fans of French...wines, we chose this as our first experience. Upon arriving we were seated with the group (some 4 tops, 6 tops and maybe an 8 top). The 5 wines for that tasting had been poured with details under each glass as well as a sheet to accompany the flight. Chris from Cru started the evening with a slight history on the winery and presenter (local distributor) and then she took over an elaborated more on the history and the details on each wine. Bread did accompany the tasting as well as a wonderful plate of 4 'bites', obviously meant to pair with the wines that evening. We spent maybe 90 minutes or so for the entire testing and no pressure to order wine, all questions were answered and a nice group of people at our table.More

Cru offers an outstanding wine selection both domestic and abroad. The patio has a wonderful menu and is more relaxed. I had the halibut dish and it was wonderful, a customer favorite. The main restaurant is intimate and a great place to relax and enjoy...conversation. Rosie, the manager introduced herself and shared her love for Cru with us. We will definitely make the 1-1/2 hour trip back again.More

Two regulars treated me to my very first time at Cru. The finely prepared French inspired dishes were excellent, the wine selection broad and deep, and the atmosphere make for a wonderful experience. We had (and I got to try everyone's dishes) the halibut (one...of the signature dishes of Cru since day 1), red snapper with potato "scales" and the mushroom agnolotti. All were excellent and the agnolotti divine. The eggplant first course was outstanding. After an enjoyable discourse with wine director Chris, we selected a Jadot Mersault and a Faiveley Pommard. We were privileged to taste a 2005 leftover from Bastille Day red Burgandy. For dessert, we had (and again, I was privileged to try all) the quenel caramel, lemon tart and two different creme brulees (one raspberry and one coffee), all rather good. Of these, the lemon tart was my fav. We had the desserts with tastes of a Pedro Ximenez, a champagne, Penfolds Port style wine and a Tokaji Azu 5 puttonyas. The Caramel went wonderfully with the PX, the lemon tart and the raspberry creme brulee with champage and Tokaji and the coffee creme brule with the PX and the Penfold's port style wine (20 yr tawny). We were very happy and privileged to meet the owners, Sandy, Sarah and son Bill. I shall certainly return though this restaurant is quite a hike for me (35-40 min). I am very happy that such quality fine dining is finally coming to NE Ohio. Is it to the standard of Aria and Atlas in Atlanta (see my reviews on this site, April 3, 2019)? No, but this is a sign that that sort of quality may be coming in the near future.More

We've eaten here numerous times, but never taken advantage of their special events. This meal was geared around the events in France on July 14th as you may have guessed. Our server, Bill, did a fantastic job on explaining the dishes as well as having...Chris aid in the wine paring and explaining a bit about each wine. We will take advantage of other events as well as their fabulous patio is back in season.More

In our first visit to the Cleveland area we had friends take us to this restaurant ...truly ELEGANT dining and awesome food. The atmosphere was very impressive from the moment you walked in...the Valet parking, bar and food service was exceptional. Our waitress was very...informative and attentive. The room was very spacious and you did not even notice others in the room. This was an excellent culinary experience . Highly recommend .More

Recently stopped in with my wife for dinner. We were surprised by the decor, menu and wine list. While a little pricey, it is worth it. The octopus appetizer was delicious, and both the lamb and fish dishes we had were cooked to perfection.

It’s roughly a half hour’s drive from the Cleveland Clinic to the restaurant. We didn’t find traffic to be a problem. Hope that helps.
