I visited recently with a group of women for a holiday party. Our private space in the restaurant was very nice. The menu was pretty limited though. I ordered the fried chicken dinner. It was plenty of chicken (and it was very tasty), but the sides were very slim, though again, very tasty. I asked about ginger beer and I... More

The prices at Dégagé definitely do not match the quality of the food. The descriptions on the menu sound wonderful, but unfortunately, the dishes didn't have the bold flavors I was expecting. I had the orange and coffee BBQ chicken. I could taste the orange in the sauce, but there was no spice or richness to the sauce, which I... More

We went on a Saturday Night at 7:00 pm the parking lot was barely used so I went in with not the best hope. However we were seated for our reservation which wasn't needed quickly the hostess got our drinks and then we waited quite some time for our waitress to come once she came I asked if they had... Pros: Easy accessible Easy to get seated Pig wings (a pork niblet appetizer) were good...really good actually.. Cool atmosphere Cons: I am not sure about the menu. Every thing is "bacon this and bacon that" -Not enough bread in the bread order -Kind of pretentious atmosphere -Service...I felt hurried and the server had to "check" when I asked him several... The building dates back to 1836. It's a historic landmark in Maumee. It's been a number of different establishments, and there are urban legends about ghosts who haunt the old building. There's a bar area when music is the keynote. Warning: They charge a cover, even if you are just dining, and frankly, the music is marginal. The menu needs... More

The food was excellent. The cafe where the Jazz was actually happening is too small to accommodate a large party. The staff provided a private room & were very attentive however the In house TV didn't work. They put us in yet another room which was very nice. The television worked , but it just isn't the same as being... More

Great potential - nice location, historic building, but service and quality are a let down. I tried the duck breast and it was served raw/blue in the center. For that I was offered a free dessert. Was told they could not serve a mojito because they had no fresh mint. Then fresh mint was served with our dessert.

We have been to Degage for jazz, but not to dine for about 10 years. We read the review of Degage in The Blade and decided to return. We chose Sunday night to celebrate my husband's birthday. Although I mentioned that when I made the reservation, there was no mention of his birthday while we dined. That was a bit... More

I wrote this updated review because so much has changed at Degage in the past 2½ years. We visited for dinner and, like all of our previous visits, the service was excellent. Degage no longer serves lunch and the menu has steadily been shrinking. Now the vegan/vegetarian menu contains only two items per course. The portion sizes have decreased and... More

Description
At Degage Jazz Cafe & Fine Dining, we combine our trademark French inspired "refined rusticity" with an unyielding passion for the best local, seasonal, and fresh ingredients. Out menu changes seasonally depending on which ingredients are the freshest and very best. That reflects our belief that no recipe is worth preparing with less-than-perfect ingredients. Each delivery of meat, fish, and produce is inspected, accepted (or rejected) and nothing but the best is kept. All our meats, poulty, and seafoods are hand-cut in house to ensure its quality and perfection. This approach takes far more time and effort, but we and our guests think it's worth it.
